We waited about 10 minutes for a table before the Hostess took us to our table and brought us our drinks. The food was amazing, and the cabbage was my favorite. It was the BEST thing on the menu. The good: Fried chicken wings Cabbage Fried Fish Mashed Potatoes/Gravy Pulled Pork The bad: Mac and cheese - it was awful Okra (too Slimy) Chicken Livers (overcooked) Unfortunately, the foods are mostly fried items. I'm more used to pulled pork , but it was pretty much the same thing. The vinegar and red pepper bbq sauce was on point like it should be in the Carolinas. The slaw was okay and it also came with a pack of potato chips. It was nice and quiet sitting on the picnic benches and a few people came by while I was eating. I also got a show from one of the local birds flying high enjoying the wind. At first I thought it was a hawk , but after looking at the picture more closely it looks like a buzzard. The biscuits looked good, but I took (and ate) the cornbread but would not have known what it was if I didn't have the cheat sheet. The salad bar was primarily lettuce. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good. Not my favorite barbecue in the area but it's cool place with great people.

But that is the same of every place I would say. One thing that I did not like was the fact that they only had vinegar bottles only near the salad buffet. I wish they had them on the tables or at stations around the restaurant like other establishments. The service was good, and the server did check on us often, and remove soiled plates as needed.
