After I piled in on they told me I could just go back for more. LOL

When you walk in they make you feel like family. It's like, "Mama cooked a whole lot of food, you better come hungry." Grab a plate and pile it on (and then go back for seconds). The hush puppies are better than any others I've tasted. The service is excellent.

I didn't expect much from a restaurant in Pembroke --much less a buffet. The food was hot, and decently well prepared. The bottomless buffet is good value. There are a decent variety of southern options, including a salad bar; but you best like chicken if you're looking to get your fill. The iced tea could have been stronger, and I'm not keen on eating on plastic plates on a paper advertisement placemat. Service for beverages was prompt, but the line for the buffet could have been better organized. People were coming down on the food like vultures. Otherwise, the tables are properly spaced -- good enough to be heard in a conversation; and the decor adds a small town feel. I reckon I'll stop here again.

Needed to stop somewhere for lunch after our UNCP tour and had read good things about Fuller's. Very welcoming as you drive up, definitely a place the locals go to - many servers knew customers by name. You pay at the front door - ordered two drinks and two buffets, total was $23.52. Hostess took us to our booth and brought out drinks over soon after. Our server, Miss Deb, was a wonderful lady that asked us where we were from and told us that she likes to look out for the college students who are away from home. We really loved her and got a big hug from her when we left! On to the food - very mixed bag. The good: Fried chicken Biscuits (I didn't eat any, but daughter said they were good) Hush puppies Corn bread cakes Popcorn shrimp Salad bar (chicken salad very good!) The bad: Mac and cheese - it was awful Okra The meh: Desserts - they had slices of cake, some strawberry cake, banana pudding Overall, just average food and pretty pricey if you don't eat a lot (I didn't). But, if you are really hungry, there are things to eat that are good - unfortunately, they are mostly the fried items and such.

Great food! Literally the best soul food I have had and I love that it's buffet style, so I can get as much as I want. Everything was seasoned to the T. The mashed potatoes and stew beef was so delicious! I normally don't get to eat hog mogs year around. So I loved the fact they had them as an option. Everything was delicious! Looking for down home cooking, look no further!

The greatest southern style restaurant in the area. The people are extremely nice and friendly just like they were 20 years ago when I was a student at UNCP. The food is fresh and delicious. You can eat as much as you want and the staff is quick with refills. Best place when your looking for a hearty meal.

I've always heard how good they are and I never got a chance to try it when I came to town to visit my sister every few years. I made it a point to go here this time and came here on Thursday , my last day , for lunch before driving to the mountains. Everyone was very nice and the chopped pork sandwich was very good. I'm more used to pulled pork , but it was pretty much the same thing. The vinegar and red pepper bbq sauce was on point like it should be in the Carolinas. The slaw was okay and it also came with a pack of potato chips. It was nice and quiet sitting on the picnic benches and a few people came by while I was eating. I also got a show from one of the local birds flying high enjoying the wind. At first I thought it was a hawk , but after looking at the picture more closely it looks like a buzzard. Anyway , I highly recommend you giving them a try , support local businesses , and it was some good barbecue.

Corn bread, and slices of cake ( red velvet, carrot, lemon, chocolate , are in a separate area.) I had a piece of the baked and the fried chicken. Both were salty, dried out tough, even though the place only opened 40 minutes before I got there. I liked the cornbread and the sweet potato. Good pork flavor in the shredded meat, not much fat. Adding Texas Pete hot sauce or pepper sauce at the table brought out some flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and good. The biscuits were very good. The desserts that we tried were average to good. They offer a senior and military discount -- thanks! The mediocre: all the veggies were almost certainly straight out of the can or bag. Nothing was seasoned, everything needed salt. Even the fried chicken needed salt, which is unheard of. (Actually, I am not sure the chicken was fried, as the outer skin was uniform and thin. Possibly baked, maybe prepped at some other location. If it is fried, it is very lightly dredged in batter.) Some of the salad bar components tasted like they had been sitting in a plastic bag a while. (Exception -- while definitely canned, the yams at least had some mace or pumpkin spice on them, which made them the only discernibly seasoned thing on the table. The yams actually should be on the "good list.") The bad: Nothing was labeled, and some things really needed to be. And one thing that looked like it might be (we aren't sure) a corn cake was inedible -- couldn't cut it, couldn't bite it, couldn't break it. Might as well have been hard tack. The barbecue chicken is homestyle -- sauce over cooked chicken. The method is fine, but the chicken was dry as a rock and nearly as tough. The notable but no points plus or minus: The dining room pumps in contemporary christian music and banter for your dining pleasure. Fine with me, could be not so fine for some who stop in. And the restrooms, while swept and supplied, could use a deep cleaning. Overall, a not-good meal. I'd consider one star, but I can't do that since I did go back for seconds on BBQ and potatoes and limas. That alone should be three star territory, were not everything else just so disappointing.
