So my daughter brought my car in on Friday a 2019 Crosstrek she picked it up after having the oil changed and 10 minutes into her ride home the car overheated. It had never overheated before, she called left a message. Didn't hear back from anybody. She was able to get the car home and when we called the shop on Monday morning, they were very kind bring it in. We gave her a rental car. Everything is good. Now they call us today and tell us that there is $7500 in engine damage and that we're responsible for it all. That's disgusting. I would never purchase from this company again. I recently purchased a 2026 Subaru Forrester from Schomp, and I loved the experience. Alison Butters was a fantastic saleswoman who bent over backwards to find me what I wanted. I originally came in with an idea that I wanted a Subaru Crosstrek Sport- but didn't fall in love and was about to go back to the drawing board (I'd gone through about 50+ vehicles shopping by that point) before she recommended the Forrester. Which I had originally skipped because of a prior bad experience with a much older model. She never pushed, always was kind (and even helped my 70-year-old mother get around, and that woman is a bear sometimes. Sorry mom.), and helped me across multiple appointments because of my work schedule. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about each vehicle in detail- I haven't had someone know the different engines between each model off the top of their head in a long time. She was able to talk to me about financing, leasing, and the trade-in options. Enriquo was another absolute doll- we were checked on multiple times and offered snacks. I see poor ratings with Schomp's service department so let me preface this review by noting that my experience here is strictly on the new car purchase experience. I waited a month after purchase to assess my pre- and post-purchase experience so this is a fairly long review: BACKGROUND: A month ago I drove from Texas to Aurora, Colorado to purchase a Subaru Outback for my dad, the first Subaru for our family. Why did I buy a car so far away? My dad wanted a specific car and we were unhappy with local Subaru dealership experience and selection. To find dad's future car, I used the Subaru website, Edmunds.com, and the dealers' websites. I called each dealership to discuss availability, price, process, and transfer options. Some dealers were willing to price match but others didn't. Comparative information were entered on a spreadsheet to help us make an objective decision, all things considered. PRE-PURCHASE: Schomp Subaru emerged as one of the top contenders for their price and customer service. Their sales staff provided us with information and options rather than pushing a sale. The sales person, Irena Milasinovic, was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, talkative, and personal. She gave us several choices with vehicles on their lot and discussed the most advantageous option in financing the purchase. The emailed price quotes lacked the typical dealership-associated fees and unnecessary add-ons, which to us were very surprising. In fact, at one point we were skeptical of how unreal this experience was, especially after we had put down the $500 deposit and bought one-way flight to Denver. Irena called to put our mind at ease by assuring what we saw is what we'll get. PURCHASE PROCESS: Schomp dealership was not far from Denver International Airport. Irena offered us a ride but we didn't want to bother her since our flight landed long before the dealership opens. The Uber ride must have lasted less than 30 minutes and cost $35. Upon arrival, Irena met us in the show room and steered us towards "our" awaiting Outback. She also gave our dog a bunch of gifts and treats, which sealed the deal for our little fur boy. After going over the features of the vehicles, Irena sent us on our test drive while she begun the paperwork. There were lots of papers to be signed but we sat in the same place and worked with the same person. Irena explained everything very well and was clearly knowledgeable about Subarus and car history in general. Before we drove out, we received a brief overview by a new vehicle delivery specialist to help new owners understand the Outback's features. Being a car nut myself and having previously research the vehicle extensively, we curtailed the education session and drove out with Irena waving goodbye. So is Schomp Subaru legit with its "One Price, One Person, One hour" promise? For the most part, yes. Our out-of-state transaction took much longer than an hour to complete. However, the sales person was honest and there were no surprises throughout the entire purchase process. The only surprise we felt was how pleasant this entire experience was and hoped that a dealership like Schomp would be closer to home. AFTER PURCHASE: I received follow up calls and text messages from the dealership to see if we had any question or needed help. When I complained about my dad's difficulty in using the infotainment system, Irena took videos and sent us instruction for creating and putting shortcuts onto the main screen. This one-touch navigation access was a game changer for my dad. I was also pleased that Irena remained just as enthusiastic, helpful, and personable as she was before the purchase process. SUMMARY: Would I buy from them again? Yes. Although Schomp is a good two days drive from my house, we had a very pleasant experience buying a car from them. The dealership's no-nonsense policy is unique in the dealership world and their salesperson, Irena, was a star in making us comfortable throughout the long-distance purchase process. read more

I arrived at the appointed time and was met by a friendly service advisor who explained that Subaru recommends a brake fluid drain and refill due to the fluid being hydrophobic and capable of absorbing atmospheric moisture. Denver being high desert and about as dry as anywhere habitable, it sounded odd but, as the factory recommended it, it was fine by me. Secondly, he said that the front and read differentials needed to be flushed and refilled. Again, if Subaru recommends it, who am I to argue. After all, I want this car to last a long time and following manufacturer's recommendations never shortened the life of a vehicle. The service advisor pulled the car up a few feet to make room for new customers coming in behind me and left the wheels slightly turned to check tread depth. We looked at the driver's side front tire where we both noted a plug, a plug that I had no knowledge of. These tires are the ones that came on the car when we bought it. Neither my wife or I had ever had a tire repair done on this car and nobody besides the two of us and whoever drove it at the dealership have ever driven this car. Where did this plug come from? Later in the day, I was advised that the other front tire also had a plug. Both front tires had been "repaired" with a plug and we have been driving the car for two years on several 3,000 mile road trips at high speeds. The only time this car had been out of our immediate control was when the dealership had it for two or three days to diagnose and repair a suspension noise. My best guess is that we either purchased the car with plugged tires or the tires were punctured and repaired when the car spent a couple of days at the dealership. That evening, we retrieved the car from the dealership, went home and looked up the Subaru Maintenance Schedule on the Subaru website. Nowhere does it mention a differential flush at 30,000 miles. All I know for sure at this point in time is that I was charged $250+ for a service that Subaru does not apparently require and am looking at $1,000+ for a new set of tires because somebody punctured two tires on this car and plugged them without notifying me. I have shared this review with Schomp a week before posting here and have not heard a peep from them. read more

Work was under a recall. Personnel was attentive and helpful. Work was successful. However communication was poor with the system. Salesmen pushed to sell their cars. They repeating try to contact me to look at new cars. Even when I said I was not interested they continued to contact me to look at my car for an evaluation and trade in. It was upsetting and obnoxious. What turned me off was aggressive style to sell a car. They need to look at building relationships with their customers. read more

NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!! Went in for an oil change and among the urgent repair items they suggested was replacing my K&N air filter (which gets cleaned and not replaced) and "accidentally" wanting to charge almost double for a bulb replacement and also recommending the replacement of my left daytime running light (see picture attached of it working just fine). A coolant flush was recommended at 88,000 miles though the paperwork says every 137,000 miles. My spark plugs were recommended though they were done at my 60,000 mile tune up and the document recommends every 60,000 miles (again I only have 88,000 miles on the car). They had no history of my previous maintenance and did not ask before asking me to approve these items. Either they are idiots or trying to take advantage of me coming in as a single female. read more

Just something to keep in mind... In April 2019 I purchased an extended warranty from Schomp Subaru on S. Havana St. Denver. The warranty was never submitted but instead it was voided in May of 2019. I never received any notification from the dealership and no check was issued for the voided warranty, 6 years passed before I found out when having my car serviced. Had the contract gone full term with no claim Schomp Subaru in Denver Colorado would have made 3k in addition to the sale. As it is, they charged me 3k for a 10 yr warranty, voided the contract then 6 years later they called it "an error", paid the 3rd party a prorated sum for the 4 remaining years then pocketed $1800.00 in profit! Bought a used 2017 Forester in August 2024. By January 2025 I had to replace the battery. In April 2025 (8 months after purchase) my car broke down. Took it to a different Subaru dealership for repairs and they said it needed an entire engine replacement among other issues totaling $29,000.00 in repairs. I bought the car for $21,000.00 with full good service history. I did not have a warranty, but when I called them to see if they would be willing to give me a better deal on a trade in because it only lasted 8 months they said no. read more

From the time you drop off the car at Schomp, to the time of pick up, the team delivers a quality customer experience. Michael C. and his crew do a wonderful job of explaining any repairs and staying in touch with you throughout the process.  During my last oil change, the check engine light came on as I was driving to the dealership (thankfully it happened before and not after). My CrossTrek is a 1.5 years old and I became concerned for a few reasons, I needed to be in Colorado Springs for work and would not be able to return for a few days and this car is a 1.5 years old!  At first there were no loaner cars, but Michael found one and did not hesitate when I told I would not be able to get it back to him for a few days. Thankfully, my car's issue was minor and the repairs were covered by the warranty.  The other time the service team came to the rescue was when my clumsy husband dropped his wedding ring between the front seat and center console of the vehicle. We searched and searched but were unable to find it. Months later when we dropped off the vehicle for its oil change, we told the service tech (sorry I forgot his name) about the dilemma. He said they would do their best to find it but if they had to remove the seat it would cost $1200. Somehow, they were able to figure a way to get the ring back and do it for free.   Honestly, when it comes to service -- Schomp delivers and their associates do care about quality customer care. read more

Now I've wasted an hour of my day and have to scramble to find someone else before my upcoming road trip. Took car in for oil change. They sent paperwork it's 89$. After work and inspection the recommended 25$ rear windshield wiper replacement. Selected the wiper replacement and denied other services the recommended. Final bill came to 202$. Luckily my wife and I caught this and they said they would fix it. They also said on paperwork they sent I needed new daytime running bulbs but on video inspection the technician said all lights were working. Advisor apologized for that to and said they would replace bulbs for free. Yes they took care of "mistake" and supposedly put new bulbs in but had we not caught it we would have been over charged 70$. How many people are being over charged here? We will not be back. Will be going to different Subaru place going forward read more
