This is my go-to Schnucks for fried fish, discovered it by accident through a co-worker a couple years ago. My co-worker was ordering fried fish for lunch quite often and I was able to try it. They were frying fish to perfection. So I started ordering fish as well. The lady in seafood, Susie is who you want to ask for. She's super sweet and helpful and will assist you with getting your needs taken care of. The seafood department is small compared to other locations. The produce section is quite lacking. I prefer to purchase my fruit and veggies from another location or even another store. The bagged lettuce is usually watery even for bags dated out a week or two. The vegetables and fruit are poor quality. And the selection is slim compared to other stores. I do like that they have Dolly Parton's frozen food options and it's usually on sale. I do like a few of the Deitz & Watson lunch meats (Hot Honey Chicken, Black Forest Turkey and Buffalo Chicken), two solid options and uniquely flavorful. The pickles in the deli are old, not fresh and crisp as they should be. They are still $1. The Deli Manager, Julie is rude and super unprofessional and hostile towards her co-workers. We witnessed her yelling at an employee in front of customers, completely degrading and speaking down to him. If she's this comfortable acting like that in front of customers, this tells me that she's been doing this for awhile and getting away with these deplorable actions. Shame on upper management for continuing to allow this behavior. The sushi at the sushi station looks super questionable and you see it is not fresh. I'd advise going to Dierberg's. One saving grace is that I was able to find Cornish hens on sale for Thanksgiving as well as a boneless turkey with dark and white meat, also on sale. read more

Schuncks has blown me away with their safety protocols since the pandemic began. They are taking every precaution to keep their customers and employees safe. They were one of the first stores around to place Plexiglas shields at the registers, mark 6 ft spots near the registers, offer hand sanitizer, host a senior hour and time for those with compromised immune systems, and promote mask wearing. One amazing option Schnucks offers shoppers since March of 2020 is to order groceries through Instacart (with no Instacart Fee) for drive up pick up. There are designated spots right outside the store for these orders. While the shopper is filling the order you can chat in the App and request other items. The Schnucks employees bring your order out to your car wearing a mask and place it in the trunk. The fresh produce and other grocery items I have gotten here all have been excellent quality. I shop at Schnucks much more frequently now. The Mason Store employees are prompt, friendly, and efficient. I will be back soon. read more

Fairly good schnucks. A lot of them have been updated and made to look more "chic" I guess, but this one still has its old school charm. I went during the day on a Friday. Not too busy. They had a nice large ice cream selection which is what I was in for. I applaud them for that. Quick, easy, just what I'm looking for in a grocery store. read more

Went here to go shopping for my mom. I was struggling to find some things and most of the employees were completely unable to help and also unable to be found. I was about to leave in frustration when Adrian asked if I needed help finding something. He even walked me to where the items were instead of just blindly pointing in a direction like the previous 2+ employees did. It has to be the single worst Schnucks in all of Saint Louis. The floors are terrible, it's never stocked, always unorganized. Even the checkout area is horrible. It's almost worth going to because it is so bad. read more

I went before lunch. Not necessarily a good idea. I went for specific things, yet I walked every aisle to see what was there . . . and found other things on sale. Was running errands in West County and needed a few items for dinner that evening. Traffic was already getting bad on Olive, so I stopped by Schnucks in Bellerive Plaza. As usual, the county Schnucks was bigger and had a larger selection then the city stores that I am use to. What really blew my mind was the produce section. It was HUGE! It was so impressive, that if this were my regular Schnucks, I'd probably become a vegetarian. Yeah, it was that amazing. read more

Schnucks - the friendliest stores in town. The motto, and the truth. I'm not sure if it's the stores, or the fact that it's in the midwest and people are naturally pretty friendly there. This Schnucks has a wide variety of natural and organic foods - much more than the typical grocery store. Also had a great spread of wine, beer, and spirits! The deli, cheese sections, butcher, and other specialized departments are clean, well-stocked, and very appetizing. It's hard to walk by without making those special extra splurges. I do love Schnucks, and I shop here whenever I'm in town. read more

Lady checking people out at #11 today at 5pm was extremely rude and didn't look us in the eye and wouldn't speak to us and I believe it was because we are vaccinated and weren't wearing a mask. That is unprofessional. The reason I believe this is because she was nice to people with masks, she also had multiple masks on which tells me she's very concerned about that. Rude and disrespectful. I went to this store yesterday to buy a sandwich in the deli department. The sandwiches are huge, so I opted for a half sandwich. When I picked up the 1/2 premium poorboy, I noticed it was marked the same price as the whole sandwich, $5.99. I brought this to the attention of the checkout person. It took at least 10 minutes for an assistant customer service manager to come over to review the situation. Meanwhile at least a half dozen other people had to go to the main checkouts because the express checkout I had gone to held everything up waiting to figure out my purchase. I always thought it was Schnucks Policy that if something was incorrectly priced it was to be given to the customer at no charge. (With reasonable exceptions, of course.) The customer service person, not the "Friendliest Person in Town". told me because it was a human error that rule didn't apply. That has not been my experience in the past. It's a shame the person at the checkout doesn't have the authority to make things right immediately. Followup: Maybe it was my YELP or maybe my sending a complaint to Schnucks Customer Relations, but I just got a voice mail apologizing and offering me a gift card to reimburse my purchase. The message explained that the "free items" only applies to Accucscan items where the price charged is different than indicated on the shelf. Of course, sandwiches, or something from the deli like I purchased would have been scanned, and charged at the price marked on the merchandise. And yes, the error could be in Schnucks favor or against it. Their responding so quickly is why I've raised the star count from my original 1 star. read more

WashU students beware!!!! I know many people (myself included) who have been hassled at this Schnucks location for trying to buy alcohol with out-of-state IDs. They require you to show them a second form of ID, and that second ID has to be local. Schnucks seems to be in the mindset that a valid license from another state is somehow LESS valid than a Missouri license. I would rather drive out of my way and pay double at Whole Foods than be treated like some teenager trying to pass off a fake ID. read more

Man, I am suprised Schnucks are still around what with all the little gum thiefs. Schnucks is the main store I shop at...mainly because of its close proximity but i also like the layout well enough. I like this Schnucks but the layout is a little weird. The deli and produce are out in this little side section that looks like it was build onto the main construction or maybe they knocked out the wall to the store next door. It gives this place a weird vibe. However, Kevin at the meat counter is the man. He'll tell you about upcoming sales, explain all the cuts of meat and show you around the place. He even brought me behind the counter and showed me how to trim the tips off of ribs. Normally you'll pay a lot more to get ribs with the tips already removed and you don't even get to keep the tips! He saved me money and taught me something new. You don't expect that in a grocery store. The liquor selection is something to behold. I've been to New Hampshire state liquor stores and had less selection. The cigar selection is pretty well stocked too. read more

This is one of the better Schnucks around. Decent produce section and and their butcher is awesome. Catch him in the morning and you'll smell the cooked sausages he's making on the spot. Their deli area has ample seating if you're looking for a quick bite. I got out of my way past 2 Dierbergs to go to this one. read more

This is a good location. There's a pay-station here for utility bills which is nice, in case you need that sort of thing.

I moved to this area 4 years ago as a lifetime loyal Schnucks customer. This store is the closest one to my new home, but after numerous bad experiences I now drive out of my way to go to another store. The employees here are rude and often grumble about having to be at work, no baggers, etc. as you are checking out or asking for assistance at the deli or meat counter. You have to watch closely to be sure you aren't getting expired items, and the store is not as clean as other Scnucks stores. Avoid this store if you can, you'll be better off driving down the road a bit to another store!! read more

This Schnucks has the unfortunate circumstance of being near 3 Diebergs on Olive. This shellacking I feel has pushed them into complacency. For the longest time the checkout experience here has been a nightmare. I agree that a company shouldn't bankrupt itself if it has few customers by using lots of employees but I feel like it takes forever to checkout every time. The other day I was in there and the self checkout was only half open. What extra resources does it take to open two automated counters. The rest of the store is clean and quite nice just that part kind of ruins the experience. read more

They have good prices and selections. Staff is nice especially the baggers. I like the location.

Smaller than the other supermarkets but staffed with regulars who are happy to help you find they don't have what you're looking for. They have weird hours too. Try the Dierbergs down the street. read more
