I am a fan of Trader Joe's, this isn't my regular store, but I was in the area and wanted some flowers and ended up getting a few other things. This store is compact, the staff was friendly, it was organized. They had a lot of flowers to choose from, so I was happy. I came out prepared for dinner leftovers with my cooler and ice pack, so I picked up a few frozen items. Trying Chicken Tikka Masala, restocked on Butter Chicken and Mini Vanilla Hold the Cone ice cream cones. Got my flowers and was on my way. read more

But my typical grocery store but I come here Stef trying to find items that I've seen on IG. The parking lot can be a bit hectic due to many surrounding businesses bit you'll find a spot, even if it's a bit further away. It was busy but not crowded. For me, it's ready to find what I'm looking for sure to the store layout. My runs are always a quick in and out. The cashiers are always friendly adhd they told pleasant conversations while checking out. read more

Typical Trader Joe's. There is not much to review other than to say it's on par with all other TJ's. Same odd parking, same narrow aisles, same crowd that is hard to navigate through, same offerings. Friendly employees. I never understood that big draw of this place. I find it pretentious and over priced. If it wasn't for the Elote chips I don't think I'd ever go there willingly. read more

I went to this location of Trader Joe's today to pick up a few essential items for dinner and was shocked to see the shelves so bare. However, there is a predicted snowstorm coming, and it might just be that people have shopped in hoards. Going to Trader Joe's is basically the same experience at any location you might visit around the country. There are the necessary standard grocery items, but a lot of fun, flavorful, unique things you'll only find at the store. One thing that really stands out here is the live plants and flowers selection. No matter what the season or holidays nearby, you'll see very reasonably priced beautifully fresh greenery. The customer service at Trader Joe's is also always outstanding. They must have an incredible training program that teaches every single employee to go above and beyond. No matter where you are, you can't go wrong with a TJ's. read more

I love Trader Joe's because it offers up your more healthier options for food. You'd think it would cost more for groceries but I think they're on par with prices, if not a little cheaper on certain items! Make sure to check out their wines because I'm positive you'll find something you love for a great price. I love that when you walk in it's always to fresh flowers. It's always clean & even if it is more busy on a certain day, this Trader Joe's is big & spacey so it doesn't feel packed! read more

Nice Trader Joe's location. Very small compared to other locations. The parking lot is a nightmare but not nearly as bad as the Brentwood Promenade's lot. That parking lot is even WORSE. Staff were friendly and the store is well-stocked and clean. read more

I love Tjs for the most part and each location has its own personality, but their paper bags smell like a cross between dog poop and vomit. Reminds me of that old binding glue smell from textbooks and library books from the 80s. read more

Restroom always out of order. How are they even able to open for business without a functional restroom??

Check out at Trader Joe's is the only place in the world where I feel legitimate claustrophobia. There are no lines. Everyone cuts you off at the last possible second the entire time you're standing there. There's not enough cashiers there's no justice system there's nowhere to place grievances. They just let people run into you physically with a cart cut you off nonstop it's nonstop infringements there. read more

The Des Peres Trader Joes carries amazing amounts of product. My obsession with Trader Joes fresh Flowers and Plants has me pulling over and checking their stock more than I care to admit. Affordable fresh flowers are literally right inside the door. I love the mini and small size seasonal succulents in adorable little pots. Some grocery items I can't live without: Kalamata Olive Hummus, Mini Savory Rice Crackers, and Unexpected Cheddar Cheese. The Butter Almond Thins and Butter Waffle Cookies are always in my pantry. Trader Joe's has Customer Service on lock. Available employees are around every corner to help point you where you need to go. read more

I had another great shopping experience here today. There is almost always parking close to the doors available. Carts are easy to get to. I perused the fruits and vegetables first. They are always attractively arranged. There are lots of precut veggies available for time challenged cooks. I then wandered down to the vegan meat section, which is well stocked. I see more things available here than any other grocery store. I love how the sections are neatly arranged in the coolers. Everything is separated and very easy to find what you're looking for. Their section of non dairy mylks and creamers are inviting. There is a large cooler dedicated to cheese. You can find the non-dairy right in the middle of it, if you're looking for it. I was able to find what I wanted in the frozen section. The candies and cookies tried to be beckon me, but I resisted. I was looking for a certain body butter, and I asked a crew member about it. They cheerfully and quickly went to look it up to see if they would get more in. The crew is just the best! They help to set a positive vibe every time I'm there! TJs forever! read more

Went shopping here today. Very clean and organized. Very friendly cashier. I think this store has the best flower variety.

Oh, Trader Joe's ... what's not to like about this store?! When you come into the store, you will instantly feel the artsy, fun ambience that makes you want to check out all the cool stuff they have. Other than carrying common brands, they have their own products that are interesting to try. There are a lot of organic products, but you can also find non-organic here, too. The products they carry are of quality with the appropriate pricing on them. There are many interesting products to try that other stores don't have. From the way they decorate to the stuff they carry, you would think that their products are expensive, but actually they aren't as expensive as stores such as Whole Foods and Dierbergs. The staff are such engaging, friendly, and energetic people. The employees may greet you with their positive energy, strike a conversation, make a joke, ask you if you need assistance, and/or answer all of the questions you have. Many of them have tried the products here and will tell you their reviews of them if you ask. TL;DR: Quality products, interesting selections, decent prices, friendly staff, clean environment, and creatively organized store. I am definitely a happy customer! read more

This is the first time I'd visited the Des Peres location. This store seems slightly bigger, clientele definitely more suburban, and there were some products (veggie soup dumplings) here that I'd never seen at the location in Brentwood were I usually go. I don't usually buy everything on my grocery list here, opting for my neighborhood Schnucks, for bread/capers/olives and the like but I was lazy, it was HOT outside, and everything was here, so fine. Workers here were nice, as per Trader Joe's-usual. read more

Nice Des Peres location. This TJ is very well kept & stocked with all the exclusive items that make them a favorite grocer. Fresh flowers, wines, cheeses, frozen goodies, produce, pet food, organic & gluten-free options along with an amazing selection of health care products I particularly love. Customer service is always on point...greetings at eye contact, sampling at the kitchen and selfies at checkout. Located in the same plaza as Panera, First Watch, Treats Unleashed (you get the picture). The service road can be a conundrum if you're not prepared so pay attention to the entrance. ~Christy read more

Until just recently I had only been to Trader Joes one or two other times because the closest two locations to me, really aren't that close. But I have been pleasantly surprised with my shopping experiences and have started going there every weekend. Joe's has many, lovely organic and fresh produce. They sell a variety of items that any other grocery stores sells but also many more unique items. I have been especially fond of their Trader Joes brands. I've tried the Trader Joes Greek yogurt and I have to say it's the best geek yogurt I've ever had. It has a much better taste than other brands and it's not as thick- much better texture to it. I also love the Fig and Olive crackers- Trader Joes brand. Did you hear me, Fig and Olive?!? Whoever thought up that combination is a genius! I've been using the crackers to eat the Trader Joes brand chicken salad. Also extremely tasty! The employees of Joes are friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. I just like trying different things and that's what Trader Joes has, unique food items that are tasty and affordable! Please build a location in the Affton or South County area-okay? OK! read more

This is one of my favorite TJ's in the area. I wish I could visit more often, but it's so far away! I like visiting TJ's when I am looking for some snacks to bring with me to the park, or when I am looking for picnic items. This location always has the exact items I am looking for including their rosemary raisin crackers; they are insanely good! They offer the best honey goat cheese and other cheese items as well. I also like to come here and browse since there are so many other random items I never would have known about like apple smoked chicken sausage (which goes great with the honey goat cheese). The only complaint that I have about TJ's in general is that they are almost always busy no matter what time I go and the aisles are so narrow that it's almost impossible not to bump into others. Sorry if I have ever run into you! The customer service is always awesome and they don't usually have a wait at the check-out lane. read more

Best prices and friendly service when you're looking for healthy foods and also for wine.

I'm a huge fan of Trader Joe's! First time at this location and I wasn't disappointed. Everyone is super nice. I especially love Trader Joe's at Christmas time! I was lucky enough to be there early enough to get some fresh garland and a gorgeous boxwood wreath! I love it and it's perfect for my front door! I always have to get the chocolate stars and peppermint Jo Jo's. I also picked up an adorable chocolate snowman cake! Gotta love Trader Joe's and the amazing people that work there! read more

Hey, Joe. I like this location way better then your location at the Brentwood Promenade. The store lay out seems to have a better flow, it is way cleaner and the staff truly understands the Trader Joe's philosophy, meaning they offer better customer service. I am a big fan of their Organic Vodka Sauce and it is a secret ingredient in a dish I make and it is not a pasta recipe. As others have stated, TJ is not a place where you will see the major brands and where you'll come to shop with coupons from the Sunday flier. The brands here are unusual and many are owned by TJ. It is kind of like shopping at Aldi's, at first you may not know the brand names. You'll have to do what I do and that is experimenting to see what you like. However, here at Trader Joe's they are a little more expensive, then Aldi's. Did you know that they are owned by the same company? I didn't until another Yelper pointed it out to me. The things you can learn on Yelp. None went in my cart today, but I can tell you the potato chips and tortilla chips here are party worthy. Also, the salsa and dips are perfect as well. Another treat that I look forward to each year and each year I hold my breath that they do not discontinue it, is the Oreo type cookie with peppermint icing filling. Christmas would not be complete without it and I am already looking forward to next year. I do not mind the extra drive here from the city. Here I get better customer service and I do not need to worry about Parking Lot Derby at the Promenade. read more

2 things that I was predisposed to that I had to get over. Non-brand or brands I'm not familiar with and the store with what I thought it represented (pretentious through price, etc.. food choices with no reality based focus on what is REALLY healthy for the customer.) Wrong & WRONG! I had to drag my husband here the first time because he also was misguided with what the store offers. What you will not find: You will not find the brands you know taste good here. You will have to experiment. Be brave! It will save you money! You will not find that the food more expensive then your local grocery store and even find they have lower prices for MUCH better quality items. What you will find: MUCH smaller store. My husband is relieved because a visit to the grocery store is much quicker and less stressful then the bigger ones. Frozen dinners that are actually tasty. Not all of them but quite a few we tried! Their food is made with the health of the customer in mind. It is not just a marketing scheme the proof is in the ingredients and labeling. Product sizing is smaller and their Frozen food dinners are actually GOOD. Products to try: Going Bananas: Chocolate covered frozen banana slices. SO It is PERFECT for doling out a tiny treat for day of being good. Tastes SO good! Favorite product there. Farfalle w/4 cheese & Spinach. Frozen lunch/dinner. Wonderful. 1 serving.. 2 dollars. No really 2 dollars. (Frozen section for the food mentioned above.) Tzatziki sauce: Really good. Manicotti: Very good! (Food immediately above is from the deli section/less of shelf life. All the way back towards the right of the store. Near mini kitchen sample place.) Lower fat/calorie Yogurt is wonderful. Pretzel slims that are perfect in taste (very little if any salt) for snacking! Their non-scented hand cream is fantastic non greasy fast absorbing that you can sample at the grocery counter. Try and bring your own bags but they do have paper bags if you want them. I did NOT like the hummus. What is great about this place is that they will actually let you taste things before you buy them. In the back, right hand side of the store there is a little mini-kitchen where they are more then glad to help you out. Saved me from buying horrible hummus. TLDR: Worth it for your health and your pocketbook. Everyone will have their favorites. Smaller portions. Experiment and try things. Definite winner: Dark Chocolate covered sliced frozen bananas. YUM! Unscented hand cream is another no brainer. Trader Joe brand food is very good and much higher quality then you would expect, especially for the pricing. Bring bags if you can. They carry paper bags. Worth going! Go try things! read more

The Memphis TJ's opening had been delayed by another 4 months so we decide to swing by this location on our way back to Memphis as I'm a sucker for their awesomely dense and chewy Sourdough Bread. And from a consumer perspective I was really glad they were open regular holidays even tho' it was a national holiday. Anyway, we got 6 loaves to put in the freezer- also picked up a great Kombucha (GT's Synergy) and some Mochi coffee ice-cream to share on the drive back. Also got their smashing Olive Oil potato chips (love the flavour). Good shopping and this location had tons of parking available - so can't wait till they open up in Memphis! Trader Joe's is a great store and we all have our favorite products. I love their cheese selection and their prices on the cheese. I personally think they went a little overboard this year on the pumpkin flavored merchandise though. Anyone else not a pumpkin spice fan? Ick! I had just read online about the Trader Joe's Oven Baked Cheese Bites. It's a new product I wanted to try. Since I was going right by this location during Saturday errands I popped in and sure enough they stocked the cheese bites. I bought two bags and a few other things. Get them! The place is very crowded with is a good sign but the crowds often mean a shortage of product. We go here for unique items to try and to re-buy ones we have enjoyed in the past. The missing star represents the missing products and empty shelf spots. Who ever orders stuff for them needs to figure out a better method. I do enjoy getting the mix and match beer. Fruit is always fresh. And the kids usually can find something sweet to take home. The folks who work there that we have interacted with have always been helpful and courteous. read more

I don't get to come to Trader Joe's very often since this one is too far away and the one by my house is such a madhouse it's not worth going. But since I was in the area I was happy I got to take a trip here for my groceries. Trader Joe's makes buying healthy and/or organic food very affordable for everyone. I was able to get many items for a total of $28 which is fantastic. The way they do this is carrying pretty much only their own brand for cost control. So don't go here thinking you're going to find everything you would at your regular grocery store. For prices I definitely prefer Trader Joe's but the one thing they are lacking that Whole Foods has on them is they have no fresh meat counter or fresh prepared foods for eating right there. read more

Trader Joe's is one of the best stores for entertaining guests. They have every food option you can dream of and some you didn't think you could buy! They are the masters of treats. First off, their cheese spreads are awesome. They have some amazing goat cheese that is ready to serve right away with crackers. My favorite is the cranberry encrusted one. They also have some awesome wines you can pair with cheese. They are pretty well known for their cheap yet expansive wine selection. You can find every price point of "low-end" wine from $2.99 to $20.00-$30.00. They might get pricier but I'm not sure. Let's talk about their sweets... Every chocolate creation that comes from Joe's is pretty much to die for. They have these amazing (seasonal) sea salt caramels. They also have these chocolate truffles that are the perfect plain truffle (my favorite candy). They are fairly cheap...like $3.99 for a box of 20. These are perfect cheap but fancy/amazing sweets to keep around the house. My holiday favorite has to be their mint JoeJoe's. These bad boys are basically amazingly delicious peppermint Oreos. It's not the holidays until I eat an entire sleeve in one sitting... I love going to Trader Joe's because the staff are seemingly more upbeat/happy than other grocery stores. They seem like they like their jobs for the most part! If you haven't been to Trader Joe's, you're doing it wrong. read more

This is a very nice TJ's. I was surprised at the layout as upon entering the store---there was the meat and it seemed much easier to browse and look at things with most of the items that require decision making lined up along the walls....meats, produce, cheese, dairy.....They have a very large area for the liquor too. I snagged a 3.99 bottle of Pinot Grigio to cook with and actually like it to drink also. I have a new love for this multi-grain seeded break they sell there it makes wonderful toast. It is by Golden Hearth and is 2.49 a loaf. Also was able to pick up some Chia seeds for under 5.00 a bag---They also have a new gluten free granola that looks more like a trail/snack mix....I of course had to try some of that too. Sean's love for sesame oil knows no bounds and it's awesome that you can get some for pretty cheap at TJ's! Also I got a pie pumpkin from here and made my own homemade pumpkin pie. Instead of fighting the crowds at the Brentwood location I tend to stop by this location after work to pickup some of the essentials that only Trader Joe's can manage. The location here seems to be much more organized than the Brentwood store, however that might change once the Brentwood store expands. Overall the crowds here are never as bad as the other store, and the customer service here is top notch. I rarely take employee suggestions, however here they always seem to be spot on. The employees actually try and love the food they sell. I love the organic section, great selection of chicken but I love the pizza dough and pepperoni, its amazing to make a grilled pizza (yes, a grilled pizza. Thanks to Trader Joe's its super easy and delicious!) The store is very similar to Aldi's, however the quality is much better but only slightly more expensive, still a great value though.
