Fresh Thyme saved my dinner party, so they are A-OK with me. They have a wide variety of fresh produce year round. The store was busy enough for food to turn over and remain fresh. I can see stopping here from time to time. Many shoppers were talking with each other, which made it feel like a neighborhood store. Fresh Thyme is in the same plaza as Home Depot and Total Wine.

Des Peres welcomes Fresh Tyme! The offspring of Whole Foods & Trader Joe's. This beautiful new Farmer's Market & Health Food store located in a plaza next to Sports Authority and on the opposite side of Gold's Gym. Open daily until 10pm, this grocer offers fresh produce, hot food, healthy options at the salad bar and throughout the entire store from beverages to fresh fish and meats. There's a deli, house-made pizza, fresh baked breads, cheeses, pet items, baby needs, household and body essentials. You can buy oils and coffee in bulk as well. Staff was cool, not comparable to the personalities of TJ's staff or the charisma of Whole Foods team but maybe they'll warm up once the dust settles. We've definitely seen this store before, nothing new about it but the location. Product and pricing are equivalent to the other health food markets we love so much (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Lucky's and Fields Food). Give Fresh Thyme a whirl if your're in the area.

Say cheese!

I shop based on current weekly advertisements, meaning my review is based mainly on my experiences with the availability and quality of advertised products. This location tends to be fairly busy, parking tends to be full in the front (Tip: If you're in the front row back in, it'll be easier to get out - between people & cars it can be a challenge to get out of your space.) Their bacon (from the meat counter) is incredibly good. I tend to go for the Applewood smoked when it's on sale, but if they're out I've gone with the plain smoked bacon (haven't tried the pepper). Note: If their bacon is on sale you may want to get there early, they've been sold out before, but happily gave me a rain check. I've had great experiences with their sale produce, always fresh, and available (even toward the end of the week). I love their variety of fresh produce as well. The dried herb section is great! Nothing like being able to buy exactly what you need in the quantity you need it in. Their customer service is great. I've needed assistance in produce, meat counter, dried goods area, and the cashier(s) - all of my interactions have been fantastic with extremely knowledgeable associates. Sometimes the check-out line can be a bit long, no self check-out available.

Veggies for days

This place is such a STL Staple. Fresh produce, local food vendors, and people selling their body…read moreoils, fragrances, foods and more. Prices on everything is reasonable. It gets crowded on the weekends. If you try and stagger the time that you go, it may not be as busy. Parking is meter/paid parking, but you may luck up and find free parking. It's a must if you are ever visiting STL or if you simply want to go to the farmers market!! I love going to the Soulard spice shop. It is one of my favourites.I have a few preferred produce stands i love going to for fresh fruits and vegetables. And don't forget about the flower shop.

Review Title: 4 Easy steps to 52 Saturdays of CONTROLLED CHAOS!…read more The MUST-DO thing for all St. Louis'ians and Non-St. Louis'ians. But you gotta do it right! Step 1: Schedule a Saturday off to yourself (yes, the Market's open Wed-Sat, but you get 100% vendorship on Saturdays) Step 2: Set your alarm clock EARLY! The trick is the "when" do you get there? Wait til the later hours of the day.. and every shop will be empty that you went for! I've learned this too many times in my sleep-in days, to get there way too late to find so many of the shops sold out, or the "runts" of the sales left. So figure out Early and then getup before then! Step 3: Get in your car and go shopping!!! (Follow the map of course!) Plain and simple you want fresh produce.. this is where you go. Whether it's veggies,. meats, baked goods, coffee, soaps, sweets, snacks, and even alchy beverages if you so desire! (and you just might as the day goes on) Get there early and load up! (Just warning you, you may have to make a few runs between your shops and your car, considering what you -could- load up on. Now as stated by many, it's a smorgasboard of what you can find, all along the entire market. (but just a word of advice, whatever you buy at the market, please clean and store PROPERLY as soon as you get home, this is a farmer's market and you can lose some fresh produce REALLY QUICK!) And just remember you're going to have to fight your way through the crowds. because EVERYONE and their relative knows to come here. (Picture yourself in a demolition derby with everyone.. cause that's what it's going to feel llike... Controlled Chaos! **See I knew I'd fit the title in here somewhere*) I will admit you there are some vendors that sell the usual "touristy wares" on occasion, such as "gold jewelry", Sports uniforms (Battlehawks, Cardinals, Blues), you know the quick .. touristy stuff. But the real value is the food and the food 'trucks', including BBQ , New Orleans style cuisine, mediterranean.. you know everything you can find at a farmer's market :) STEP 4: And to top off the day. a real daiquiri or bloody mary to seal the deal! And there you have it folks... 4 steps to a Controlled Chaos of a Saturday in the Lou!!
