They gave my order to another guy. ‍ When he told them, I watched them frantically take my food out of his bag and put it into mine. It was almost closing time, and the guy didn't look like he had any communicable diseases, so I guess there's that plus. But seriously, what are the odds? There were like five guys working back there packing orders it looked like. How does this keep happening? And one of the kids bagging the takeout orders had dark sunglasses on. At 8 PM. Dude, unless it's some medical condition, take the sunglasses off or get the order right. When I got home, the meatball sandwich was, of course, cold--which I expected since I live about 20 minutes away. I'd strongly recommend eating it there while it's hot because it's not nearly as good cold. Kinda mid The Stallone I ordered not warmed up. So it was okay. So, yeah, unfortunately, my second visit came with another wrong-order adventure. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if getting someone else's food is just part of the experience here.

This Ruben was just dripping with deliciousness. Just as good as we would have gotten in Palm Springs, Hollywood or New York. And the fries were nothing to sneeze at either. Hot, fresh and crispy. Just how I like them. Coupled with our Long Island Express and Beringer Red Sangria, we were two very happy dinners. The service at Katz's was just as good as the food. Brian was prompt and extremely professional. We did return a week later and both enjoyed a meal a half pastrami and corned beef and my wife a Philly Cheesesteak both with Tomato Basil soup. There were so many delicious items to choose from on their menu we can't wait to return to try their breakfast selection, their dinner/main features and some of their fabulous looking deserts. Back then, I believe we used to have a flyer/menu from them that some employees ordered from. I visited on a cold day where most of the customers were taking their orders to-go. The setup is a little confusing at first, but you just go down the serving line and stop when someone asks you for your order. You can get a tray, or not, depending on how many plates or dishes you ordered. The ready area (for dine-in customers) is weirdly placed in the middle of the line and the spot for to-go orders is at the end of the line next to the last register. Once your order has been places, you grab the ticket and take it to a register. This setup reminds me of a little local deli I used to visit regular in Stafford. I will say that their selection of hot sandwiches and specialty sandwiches is limited. Most are 1 protein only which is probably how they can keep their prices so low. I asked the order taker if you could customize or make a hot roast beef sandwich or toast it and first she didn't understand me, then she just repeated the two hot sandwich options from the menu. I again asked can you make the sandwich toasted, then she said yes. The sandwich, by default, comes on French bread. I wasn't familiar enough with the menu to pick another bread so I just stuck with French. I chose provolone cheese. It comes out after a few mins and it's nicely toasted and ended up being a nice size sandwich with an adequate meat to bun ratio. The sandwich also comes with a pickle spear. I also added a cup of homemade chili which is pretty decent. The meat is finely ground and I prefer it to be more coarse, but the flavor was good. All of their entrees and side dishes have low prices. One of the best deals is the "classic" sandwich which comes with prosciutto. An even better deal may be their baked potatoes with 4 toppings for only $2.09 weekdays!
