My yearly trek to satisfy my tastebuds with an Original and a Turkey original. The staff is always friendly and seem to always be working as well. It was a late lunch for me and several employees were busy cleaning the main dining area, stocking and frosting the cinnamon rolls. One note- the person taking my order did not ask me about adding a Cinnabon to my order, because had she asked I would have said yes. I was already planning to get one if offered.

Ordered Schlotzsky's for our meal tonight. Our calzone had ZERO pepperoni on it and NO marinara. Every TIME they FORGET to put it in our order. My original sandwich is always ok because if they mess up their signature sandwich, the store is done! Only complaint on the sandwich is it is soggy by the time it gets here. Quite pricey for mediocre food!

Drive through only due to COVID, which I appreciate any company protecting its workers!!!! Went at lunch time and it was not a bad wait in line. Great service from the person taking our order. Food was fresh and perfect temperature. We ate it immediately and it did not disappoint. It has been 10 years since I have been able to eat here. It was amazing like always.

Once again Schlotzkie's does not disappoint! If only they still had the dark rye bread

Stopped off for some sourdough goodness today for lunch. Had some nice company with my brother as we attended a toy/comic even earlier for some fun. This location on Center Street and the Scholtsky's on Saddle Creek at my usual goto's when I eat at this restaurant. I have not had an issue at either place and typically I usually end up leaving pretty happy. Today I got a small "original" sourdough sandwich. Usually I go for a medium size sandwich and leave too full. My small today was perfect with some cracked pepper chips and a sweet tea. They were busy today but quick and efficient over the lunch period. My food was warm and made just right. I also like to dowse my sandwich with the hot sauce they have there, but due to covid times, they don't have the bottles out but do have small packets to give you. I was thankful - as its a great hot sauce....and very close in taste to Red Devil (my fav). If you never tried this place...go try it. ;) I'm including a photo of my sandwich......well, half of it at least. Heehee.

Love the sour dough bread! I make special trips to this part of town just to be able to stop for a smoked turkey sandwich.

My husband and I were downtown for lunch, and I knew I had to stop by. The menu is VERY limited; there are only two to three sandwiches everyday and a few soups. I decided to order the mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic sandwich and he tried the mortadella with dijon. My sandwich came cold and his was hot, but both were served on the most delicious focaccia bread with flaky sea salt. I was in heaven. There is very limited seating, but the shop as a whole was very cute. There are some specialty meats, cheeses, drinks, and other food goods available for purchase, too. Everyone working was very kind and helpful. This is a must visit if you are a sandwich lover!

THIS is where you come to buy the AMAZING sourdough bread that they serve there. I was at an art event once featured a prominent German photographer. During his gallery talk, he jubilantly exclaimed that he LOVES coming to Omaha, that the Buvette sourdough is THE BEST in the WORLD! I agree. And the really great thing is that they will make amazing sandwiches from it. There is a chalkboard menu listing their sandwiches each day. There are usually 3 different rotating choices. It is enough, I usually have trouble deciding which one to get even with that small menu. The flavors are amazing and the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. I'm going to say that these might be the best sandwiches in the world. Most of the sandwiches are made on this AMAZING house-made focaccia bread. Literally the only thing that makes me sad here is that sometimes they run out of focaccia and ask if they can make it using baguette instead. Their baguettes are amazing as well but personally I don't like them as sandwich bread. So in that event I usually get the soup instead. Their soups are delicious so it's not that big of a problem, Seating is very limited, with a tiny table inside and a couple outside, so you will probably have to find somewhere else to sit and enjoy your lunch, There are deli items, pickles and olives, desserts, and some specialty grocery items available, Staff there are lovely as well and I always feel happy when I visit. Oh, and this - you know how I said these are probably the best sandwiches in the world? One might expect these would be a premium price. I am delighted to tell you that $7.98 will get you one of these amazing things. They are large and satisfying. It is an incredibly good value. I come here often!

Star Deli is tucked away in Benson, and is open a bit later than other restaurants at all to cater to the scene of the strip. As a vegetarian, I greatly appreciate their entire list of veggie options, which allows me to feel unlimited in my options - unlike traditional sandwich shops that may have 1-2 veggie options. Star Deli uses creativity to cater to all types of sandwich desires! I tried the Jalapeño Popper this visit, switching it up from my traditional sweet potato sandwich order. As you can see from the photos, there was no skimping on my jalapeños, and they were crunchy and fresh! Not very spicy, but that is not something they can control without taking a bite of each pepper lol. This sandwich was flavorful and unique, and I would definitely order it again. The only worker quickly got 'cookin' once myself and one other customer ordered, delivering timely service without the rushed chaos of fast food as I saw him freshly chopping up the veggies. The local artwork on the walls and the location being in Benson, Star Deli is one of my favorite sandwich spots. A block away from a vintage store from the left and the right, bars nearby, coffeeshops, shopping, and ice cream, it really is prime for the day or night! I recommend the Jalapeño Popper, but with such a large menu, I will probably try something new next time, and so should you :)

A delicate hint of sour, and a soft touch of light rye, with a fresh scent of caraway and onion..... it is a perfect loaf! Chewy, but still supple. they have mastered the craft. People living in Lithuania might be jealous! But such bakeries are rare, even in Chicago nowadays. we live here in California and there is nothing even close to what we remember. But luckily, this little gem of a bakery is making their incredible Lithuanian sourdough rye bread available via Goldbelly. if you are lucky enough to be standing in front of this bakery, run, don't walk inside and buy as many loaves as you have money for. They will freeze well, and they will be the best bread you have ever eaten. If you are not standing in front of it, do what I did. go to their website, and order by Goldbelly. I plan to do it for as long as they remain in business. This bread certainly makes a good sandwich if you slice it thin. But I prefer it toasted, with butter. Or better yet, smeared with Lithuanian farmers cheese that has bits of Caraway. The toast softens the cheese a bit, and you have a gooey treat! If you don't have such cheese (Andrulis is a good brand) consider a good creamy goat or even a simple cow's milk cream cheese spread from good ol' Philadelphia. Honestly, you can just eat it straight from. The loaf. Can't go wrong.
