Cute neighborhood where everything else was crowded so we opted for the empty Pickleman's even though it being empty should have been a clue! Employees seemed actually mad we were there. No greeting, no eye contact, just a "be with you in a minute" and some awkward moments of silence while they worked on another order. Waiting is fine but we actually felt uncomfortable. The pizzas are big enough for two people and they're tasty. The salads were had were not edible - mostly because the "Caesar" dressing was brown vinegar paste. Unlike anything I've ever seen. Picklemans remains elite in fast food sandwich shops, especially when looking at quality for the price. I love a #17 chipotle chicken for a little bit of spice, or just a classic #1 turkey. The Aksarben location in particular tends to be a bit chaotic. Service is a mixed bag, and it's generally pretty busy. Out of the dozens of times I've eaten here, a good number of them have included long wait times or messed up orders. Still always worth it to me as the best inexpensive lunch option in AV. read more

Half sandwich? More like a quarter sandwich. The employee cut it in half, but the loaf wasn't a standard size to begin with. The food is nothing special and it is wildly overpriced. One would thing that if "pickle" was in your name that the pickles would be exceptional. An exceptional pickle MUST be crisp and firm throughout. Mine wasn't close. I love this place! To some it might just be sandwiches & salads but I happen to love a good fresh sandwich and salad so... Never been in. I'm sure it's nice. Lol anyways, I've just done online ordering for delivery or pickup. There online ordering is simple & to the point. I prefer it because I can customize my sandwich to my liking fast. I've tried the turkey sandwich, salad and there pepperoni thin crust pizza. All pretty good and the ingredients seem to be fresh and that's my favorite part. This was my first time trying Pickleman's after receiving some recommendations. The sandwich was very good. However, I did find some flaws with the ordering process. Considering the restaurant was literally right across the street from my place of employment, why must there be a delivery fee? Now I would assume the delivery fee varies based upon 2 factors, total distance, and total order price. Therefore I found it a little silly/greedy for a delivery fee. I would have just walked across the street and picked it up myself but I was unable to leave the premises due to the nature of my work. For nearly $10, I would anticipate the sandwiches would be a little bit bigger. The pictures may misrepresent the actual size. As well as, after looking through their website and app, I didn't see any option to order a bigger size. The typical measurement you would see is 6" or 12" options. I saw 1 size and that's it. Perhaps I overlooked or missed this option somewhere. However, after reading through commonalities among other reviews, I believe it's accurate. read more

Ordering online was a breeze and allows for lots of customization with clear pricing. 15 minutes or so wait time for 2 sandwiches during dinner but that worked perfect for us. Absolutely LOVED my veggie sandwich. I might dream about it every once in a while. The real winner here is the bread. I need a lot more of it in my life. Honestly the sandwiches are pretty small for the price. If you're really hungry you might want to get an extra side or something else to get you through. read more

Came here twice. Line starts at the very left end of the counter close to the entrance but there was no one there so I approached the worker who was in the middle of the counter. I started ordering but the woman says, "you didn't order yet?," then proceeds to walk to the left end of the counter and says very rudely, "over here". Second time the same woman took my order and asked if I wanted cheese on my sandwich. I said yes but she must not have heard me because I continued to order other items and then she says in an agitated tone, "OK, but what about the cheese?" while gesturing with her hands in confusion. One time is a bad day, 2 times isn't a coincidence. This woman seriously needs to find another job where she can be happier. The other staff members were nice and respectful. This is a good Pickleman's location. Friendly as well as swift service - one time there was a sandwich missing from the bag so the girl at the register gave us free chocolate chip cookies while we waited for them to cook us the sandwich that was missing so its good to see that they care about customer happiness. Food is also very good; sandwiches are nice, crispy and full of great flavors. I usually get the turkey sandwich or the Hodge Podge sandwich but I'm trying more flavors as time goes on. read more

Today I got curbside from Pickleman's in Aksarben Village. I read an article about helping restaurants by ordering directly from them to avoid the delivery or middleman fees. I figure I'll do some of each So I used the app to order. Pretty simple but more on that later. I really enjoyed the food! I brought home lentil chili and a southwestern salad from the pick 2 menu. The portion sizes were perfect. The chili was simple, full of lentils in a spicy tomato based broth, but not too spicy. It was great. The salad was also very good with crispy greens, black beans, corn, generous slices of avocado, tomatoes, croutons, and red onion. I opted for no dressing & used my own balsamic vinegar at home. So I would definitely order food from here again but I would call and not use the app. When I placed the order, I couldn't find a button for curbside to go, but elsewhere on the app it indicates they have it. The app says it generally takes 20 minutes so I rolled up in 20 minutes & looked at the app to track the progress. The app showed it was almost ready. After 10 more minutes it still showed almost ready. The place wasn't busy so I finally called. I explained about the app and no curbside choice. The guy who answered said that they didn't really use the app to show progress because it didn't work. He also said they did do curbside but again, it didn't work on the app. I'm not sure if these app problems are only at the Aksarben location or if the app just doesn't work completely right at all their stores. Anyway, just call to place your curbside pick up instead of relying on the app. The food is good even if you have to reheat the soup! read more

The worst experience I've had in any restaurant in Omaha. The teenage manager was rude; asked "what the f$%^ is she looking at?" As I was looking around because this was my first time in the establishment. Then when confronted, proceeded to scream across the restaurant at me. We chose to leave,of course due to this however other workers offered us free food and apologized for her behavior. We refused but still thanked them for this. This entitled manager needs to be reprimanded or fired for this. Worst service ever!!!! read more

I went in with my brother for the first time when I was new to Omaha. I was not expecting much because I have a very spicy Indian palate and usually prefer food like that. I tried the veggie sandwich, dill pickle deep river chips, and broccoli cheese soup here for the first time and I was in love. Tastes great, the staff is so welcoming and helpful, and the place is comfortable. I love going here alone too, I read or listen to podcasts while I eat and it's the best. He greeted me with a big smile (what I assume under his mask), and told me to enjoy my meal. And it was sincere, not the typical monotone voice then leave. I love Pickleman's. It's tied with Whichwich for best sandwich in Omaha, which makes it very hard to decide where to go for lunch especially since they're right across from each other! I generally get the big tuna, which is amazing. They toast the bread and cheese and then slap a pile of cold tuna on it, and the competing temperatures is great. read more

Solid sandwich spot. I ordered the Italian beef and the regular Italian sub. They were very tasty. These regular sandwiches are on the small side but probably just right so you are not stuffed. There is a normal amount of meat and it is tasty but the quantity is just enough so you won't complain. The pricing is decent not too expensive for what you get. The bread is fresh and I like how they wrap them up. I did the delivery service and they were great. I would buy these sandwiches again and I look forward to trying some different types. read more

Our family was on a long trip from out west to the midwest. My wife wanted to stop in Omaha to check out Borsheims. Afterwards we stopped to eat at Pickelman's before getting back on the road. First time there and the staff was really nice explaining the menu and omg patient with me. I picked 2: walnut cranberry salad and hodgepodge sandwich. Perfection and good portions. Thought I'd give this location another try but AGAIN the service was the same. Just terrible, the food is good but an employee I experienced had a very rude attitude. Was screamed at by the teenage blonde girl for trying to make an order. Another employee was able to help, the food in the end was not correct. Wanted to get a refund and the girl who screamed at me wouldn't allow me to get a refund had to ASK another nice employee. I like Pickleman's but I wouldn't return to this location if this girl was still here she had a very RUDE attitude. Not only she screamed at me she also screamed at the other nice employees. Since I am in temp housing, I thought I would take a quick trip over and try a pepperoni pizza. If sandwiches are your game (which I did not try), stay there. Pizza was prepared in a timely manner. Back to my hotel room in less than 2 minutes. Open box, and grab a few slices to put on my plate. All the ingredients slide off the slice into the box. Try again with the same result. I ended up with a ball of cheese and pepperoni. Had a bit of that brick and threw the rest in the trash. Sorry, won't be back. read more
