Jason's Deli is delicious! I ordered the Amy-O Turkey sandwich, spicy seafood gumbo and a side salad. The sandwich has turkey, lettuce, tomato, red onions, avocado, mustard and pepper jack. If you follow Kosher, Halal or vegetarian diet steer clear. I ordered a baked potato and asked for them to hold the bacon bits. My potato arrived and there were still several bacon bits on it. The manager stated that the bacon bits are next to the cheese, and the bacon bits get in the cheese, and I should just expect to get some. I don't know why he thought that explanation was acceptable, but I'm now furious. They did remake it but with a lot of attitude. read more

There are not many places to buy a salad in Omaha. When I have a longer time for lunch, I'll drive from base to JD for a to-go salad. I only really go here for salad. I have not tried their other options. Greens: arugula or iceberg or spinach...take your pick. I usually go spinach. The iceberg is often white. Veggies: A good, fresh selection. They have what I desire: broccoli, carrots, and onions. Toppings: A good salad is impossible without good bacon bits. They have them in spades. Good, large croutons. They have a couple of types of cheese. Dressing: I really only go for ranch. It's not the terrible abomination out of a bottle. They have a nice, home-made buttermilk ranch. Cleanliness: Bar is always clean. Service: very kind and helpful team. Over 18 months of doing this, I've never had a poor interaction. The Santa Fe chicken sandwich is one of my favorite, along with the California club and so many of the other sandwiches, pastas and probably the best salad bar in the world. The food was great but the service received was horrible. I ordered a to-go order# 527227186497, walked in to be greeted with one word "name" by a bald gentleman with glasses in a Jason's Deli uniform. I gave him my name "Brown" which he then checked the two ready bags, walked away without a word and started running the dinning room register. I assumed it wasn't ready so I stood waiting. A lady in civilian clothes (possibly management) then waited on me, asked my name, re-checked the bags and confirmed "Emil Brown?" I replied yes, she brought me the items and confirmed the order. The rude gentleman still at the register blurted out "was it the wrong name" which she replied "no" plus I chimed in saying the order and name were correct to which he just glared at me. The lady thanked me as did I, then I departed. His rudeness was uncalled for, just plain ridiculous and hurt my impression of a location my wife and I have visited numerous times with great outcomes. If this is his customer service capability, he is clearly in the wrong industry. In the past a meal at Jason's Deli has been a bit chancey-- sometimes everything looks clean and neat, and sometimes it doesn't. Today was one of the days when they were spot on. They reinstated their salad bar and it looked to me like the tables are a little further apart than they used to be. Staff weren't wearing masks but I was. Bookguy was a little disappointed that the salad bar wasn't an all you can eat salad bar anymore, but that can probably be blamed on Covid. Nevertheless he was completely satisfied with his lunch, picking from many favorites that he's always had in the past. I decided not to do salad bars anymore due to Covid. Too many people near the sneeze guard or under the sneeze guard. I chose a caprese panini and mac & cheese as a side. Fresh mozzarella, organic spinach, Roma tomatoes, pesto aioli, herb focaccia made the sandwich delicious. The mac and cheese was exactly like Kraft in the blue box that you make at home. We love Jason's Deli. The one closest to us in St. Louis closed so we were happy to see this one in Omaha when we were visiting there. We love their salad bar and this one was great. Everything is very fresh and items are frequently replenished. Jason's used to have all you can eat salad bar (get a fresh plate), but during COVID they changed to one-trip. That is my only complaint -- Bring back all you an eat salad!! read more

Absolutely unprofessional I stopped into the Dodge St deli on Dec 23rd and when I came in the manager identified by her name tag saying she was ..was sitting on the counter on her phone in full view of customers. Sitting on the counter is unsanitary I will not be back as obviously this is acceptable behavior if management is engaging in it. Very disappointed tonight. We called in a to go order for a Beefeater sandwich, a Papa Joe's sandwich, 1-BQchips + 1 regular chips at about 9:18 p.m.. Paid. They stapled the bag shut (probably a clue...). I get home. 2-Ruffles chips. No au jus for the Beefeater. My Husband needs the au jus to be able to eat the sandwich. I call. I am told we do not get au jus unless we specifically request it. (We always order this sandwich & never had this issue before.). The menu says it is served with au jus! Very disappointed. LESSON: Service varies. Even though you pay the amount on the menu- you might not get what was on the menu or what you ordered. Open the bag before you leave. Cannot trust them. Ate here two days in a row for lunch ...both visits the place was packed. I asked a cashier for the to go side about the Irish Potato soup and she brought me a sample. It was delicious!! When the cashier asked if I wanted bacon & cheese on my bowl of soup.....is that really a question?!? Absolutely! The salad bar had its usual fresh choices. Jason's deli is usually an easy choice For lunch. Very extensive menu with sandwiches, soups, pasta, baked potatoes, and salads. I like to get the salad bar as well as their giant baked potatoes. On my most recent visit, the lettuce was a little wilted and not that great, but this is typically not the case. They have lots of topping and dressing options and I love the little cornbread and gingerbread mini muffins. If you have never had one of their baked potatoes I highly recommend it! They are ginormous. I can usually only eat maybe half and take the rest home with me for another meal. They take up an entire plate to themselves! I would say this place is very family/kid friendly as well with the amount of options available on the menu. And they offer free ice cream, which everyone can enjoy. read more

*Sigh*... Okay. So I'm aware that this place has a pretty decent rating. Tons of great reviews with plenty of happy customers. I was excited to try it out. I'm sad to say that was just not the case for me. Maybe I caught them on a bad day,idk. I went in on a Sunday evening around 4ish. Now although the service was friendly, the food was not. I ordered a California Club with a side of fruit. Everything on that sandwich scratch that... Everything on the plate was old! Even the plate itself was old & dirty. The strawberries & melons were near fruit death! Now the side salad was good. Probably because I'm the one who made it. Salad bar seemed to be clean. But that sandwich, I really wanted to like it. It made me sick for two days! Oh and not to mention it smelled of old Mop water! (The resturant, not the sandwhich) Just old & stank on this visit. Not what you want when you're trying to enjoy your old,dirty sandwich,right? It was nauseating! And the price... Criminal!! I'm not sure if I'll return. If so, it won't be anytime soon. Yesterday I had a well compiled turkey on wheat, the fruit you brought was fresh and bountiful, your store-brand potato chips had ripples, and the desserts looked good (though I can't speak from experience). I'm even eating the aforementioned chicken salad as leftovers RIGHT NOW, and it's actually good... that alone I thought was worth an additional star. read more

Having only tried this place once before at a marketing meeting. I really was blown away on how big the inside was. The decorations on the wall really went well with the atmosphere. The menu is full of great items to choose from. The salad bar they say is the best in town. I'd have to agree! I choose to get 1/2 a sandwich (The New York Yankees sandwich - corned beef and pastrami!!!! Bread was kinda of soggy but I also let it sit there for quite a bit because I also choose the huge salad bar. The salad bar is fresh and has plenty of options to choose from. They even have free ice cream!!!! The sandwich was very good and the salad very filling. I think when I try this again I'll just go with the salad because that's plenty for me. Jason's Deli is a consistent winner when it comes to lunch for me. A 'chain' restaurant, but in this case, the food is good and appears to always be consistent. I love the Beefeater sandwich, pretty much my go to meal. My wife likes their soups and the salad bar, and my daughter likes their kids size cheese pizza. I have also had their food catered into my work on many occasions and the sandwiches always look fresh and taste good. Simply put, they are great for lunch, with consistent offerings time after time...and free ice cream after your meal :) read more

To be fair - this review does not cover their many sandwich and salad options but only the sweets and service. We popped in with the hope of a nice breakfast with corned beef or possible just bagels and lox... we clearly misunderstood the Deli in Jason's Deli. We opted for strawberry shortcake, brownies and a cookie. I cannot promise the sweets are made in house but the shortcake was likely assembled there. They have several old products out for sale. I specifically asked for a fresh shortcake and pointed it out. The friendly server pulled it out and packed everything up to go. When we got home the shortcake was one of the many old ones with withered darkened and dry strawberries. Likely a simple oversight and another reminder to always, always check that to-go/pick-up order. Friendly and plentiful staff for an empty and tidy establishment. Jasons Deli felt like a partner of the chain Panera without typical breakfast carb offerings. Is it a chain? The best salad bar I've ever encountered. Also have an extensive menu and excellent soup. The inside isn't' necessary a very inviting environment so sometimes that deters me from going there. The tables are very close together and unless you get one of the few larger booths, it's pretty crammed if you have more than two people eating. But, the food is definitely top notch for being a fast paced casual concept and very reasonably priced. Great for lunch because you can get in and out quickly. Even getting the salad bar to go lends itself to enough for two meals. read more
