Having said that, the sandwich itself begs to be dipped. The dipping sauce seems to work better with chicken fingers, but there's something special about dipping a grilled ham & cheese in soup. The baked potato soup is hearty and flavorful, and works well as a dip, too. They also give you a Halloween-size M&M bag. Not a huge thing, but a nice surprise. The food was served quickly, and I like the 1950s look and feel of the place. This was a welcome detour from the usual fast food.

The only worker quickly got 'cookin' once myself and one other customer ordered, delivering timely service without the rushed chaos of fast food as I saw him freshly chopping up the veggies. The local artwork on the walls and the location being in Benson, Star Deli is one of my favorite sandwich spots.
