Been looking forward to stopping here since we arrived in Omaha and it did NOT disappoint!! Friendly service at the counter, open seating, and the food was hot and delicious! Highly recommended and will be dining the next time we're in town!

Okra African Grill is a great place to eat! I ordered the Jellof red rice with a side of hot sauce. My wife got the peanut butter chicken. They were both delicious and the hot sauce was extra spicy. I also ordered Nina's Hibiscus lemongrass lemonade, it was very tasty. The service was professional and fast. The price reasonable and again the food was delicious. If you are ever in Omaha she k out Okra African Grill!!

This place is incredible. Its. Genius concept. Basically the chipotle of waaaaaaaaay better food. Everything looked fresh and delish. It was super hard to choose. I had the #2. The red rice and chicken. Omg it's so flavorful and so much food. This could easily be two meals. There is no way I will be eating this all in one sitting. So while the price may seem a tad high for Omaha at $13, I think it's a super good deal considering I will be eating this twice The gentleman working was incredibly kind, and after telling him it was my first time and he went over the menu with me and gave me his recommendations. I absolutely love African food and this really hit the spot for a quick healthy and delicious lunch. I can't wait to come back and try the fufu. If you love ethnic food, give this place a try you won't be disappointed.!

I found Okra African Grill looking on Yelp! My husband wanted to go to Chipotle, but we opted to try a different place in Omaha, so we tried this place. Coincidentally, it had a Chipotle-like concept of choosing your protein, starch, and extras, but I would choose it over Chipotle. Our family likes seafood, so did the "Build a Bowl" and chose shrimp and fish. There was a generous amount of shrimp, and the shrimp were not teeny! I wrestled with getting the Fufu (mashed yam) or rice, and ended up getting the red rice. I'm still curious and would want to try the Fufu next time. Someone chose to get black-eyed peas in place of rice, and was very happy with that. I would recommend getting the tomato salad, which is like a pico, as a side. It's a crunchy and refreshing addition to the bowl. It's personal preference, but we liked the fried plantains. We also liked the spinach (Gboma/Eguisi Desi) sauce best with the shrimp. Imo you have to put some thought into your protein and sauce combinations. Peanut butter sauce seems like it would go great with chicken. It was a pleasure to meet the owner of the establishment. She was very articulate and knowledgable about the food, as well as the surrounding area.

I'm totally in love with this restaurant. Though sadly I have only been able to dine in once (out on the patio!) and another time for take out... but maybe after writing this I'll go immediately for lunch! It's a fast casual vibe (order and pay at counter) but that's not a bad thing at all. And the food is oh so good! Build a Bowl is my favorite way to go and you really can't mess it up. Just pick some things that sound tasty (plantains!) and fill up with some tasty African food.

This was the first time my husband and I tried this establishment or African food in general. We absolutely LOVED it! Very clean. Nice and friendly staff. Both meals tasted delicious and we will definitely return to try more off the menu. The plantains were the perfect sweet and I had a side of black eyed peas. They were seasoned to perfection. My jellof rice was absolutely delicious. Everything was delicious I had a clean plate. We ordered the ginger lemonade which she hand made and it was delicious with a boast of ginger flavor. I was given a sample of the hibiscus lemonade which is also handmade and it was a delicious combination of flavors, not too sweet either.

I was recommended Meddys by a friend. I decided to do catering order for a work event today…read more 5 stars! The catering manager called me to confirm my order and ensure I had any questions answered. They delivered it themselves and not a delivery service like door dash which I appreciated as delivery service drivers tend to handle large food orders in a more...carefree manner. The delivery person was a delight and set everything up in a thoughtful manner. The food was delicious. The portions were insane. They had gluten free pita. Ordered for 12 and could have easily fed 15. I can tell my team will be requesting this more often. And I will definitely be stopping in personally for some good eats.

It was definitely on the thin side and there were less roasted veggies (a piece of cauliflower and mostly zucchini with essentially no flavor of their own) than I anticipated there would be. I was thinking that the lamb would be real lamb steak chunks since it was pricer than the beef option, but it was gyro meat texture. Granted, the gyro was DELICIOUS. The best bite of the bowl, probably the best gyro meat I've had. I thought there would be a decent amount of fresh tomatoes on top, but no dice. I think I maybe got four cherry tomatoes halves. The pita was good enough, unremarkable. I've eaten a decent amount of Mediterranean food and worked at a Greek restaurant for three years, and this meal didn't live up to my expectations. With the to-go plating, the meat was on one side and hummus and veggies were on the other side of a partitioned container. It just felt weird. They couldn't stock a to-go bowl large enough to contain a bowl? I'd pass on this meal.

My wife and I both ordered the Everett's #2 with pulled chicken, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Everything just worked together perfectly. The chicken was tender, the slaw added the right crunch, and the bun tied it all together. It was one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you just look at each other and know you made the right choice. We also ordered the Saucy Rossy wings and they were the perfect heat level for both of us. Not so mild that they're boring and not so hot that you're suffering. Pro tip: get them fried and grilled. The extra texture and flavor are absolutely worth it. My wife is a total Brussels sprouts snob and she was absolutely in love with theirs. The funny part is that I'm usually not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but I kept asking for more off her plate. That alone should tell you how good they were. The fries were okay. Nothing that stole the show, but nothing to complain about either. The service wasn't the best during our visit, but they also had a 30-person table they were dealing with, so it was completely understandable. Even with that, the food was so good that it's already a top 3 meal for my wife. We'll definitely be thinking about those sandwiches, wings, and Brussels sprouts until we're back, and I don't think that'll take very long.

First, our entrées arrived only about five minutes after the appetizer, even though we had not finished it yet. Second, both entrées arrived cold. I asked for mine medium, but it arrived well-done. What disappointed us the most was that neither the manager nor the chef came to the table to apologize or address the situation. Unfortunately for them, we have both worked in the restaurant industry for years, and we know the proper protocol. At the very least, a manager should approach the table when a guest sends a dish back. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant.
