I recently purchased a half bind. I was talked down to when I called to ask if was ready. I was called an hour later to tell me it was ready. Expecting fresh ground beef, the half was finished off with 16 packages of frozen something that resembled ground beef but turned into charcoal when placed on the grill with pools of grease left underneath the grill. Highly disappointed and have been a customer for years!!! read more

Place is clean, looks pretty organized and they have all kinds of meats. They were busy and I felt a little overwhelmed when I went in. I was looking for Prime rib roast for Thanksgiving. I didn't see any and didn't ask. I ended up ordering some ground beef for that nights dinner and left. We had burgers for dinner that night. All good. read more

Amazing shop! The people working are always happy to answer any questions you have for them. They are SO kind and know what they are talking about. It's a bit chilly inside so if you get cold easy, bring in a jacket! The meat is always amazing, I've never had a bad steak or salmon from this place, their potato salad is also TO DIE FOR!! Don't shop at anywhere else for your meat or fish! read more

Awesome experience as a first time customer. Picked up beef filets - $10 for 7oz or $12 for 10oz. Excellent quality and excellent customer service provided by Jordan and Brandon. You guessed it, the means take center stage but there is a varied and wide assortment of wild game, sauces, seasonings and other culinary adventures that await. Looking forward to going back! read more

I never got a chance to shop. I was refused service and told I had to leave with my service dog. I am deaf and rely on my service dog everywhere I go. upon entering the store I was told by a person behind the counter that the dog was not allowed. I informed the person that she is allowed by federal ADA guidelines. I didn't matter to him, he told us we had to leave. I did file a grievance with the Omaha ADA Coordinator. read more

Just Good Meat - Ducky the Service Dog - Meat Shops Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

This place is terrific. I work just down the block so decided to give it a try. The ribeyes are great and so are their long hotdogs - They are not your typical wiener! The service is great and they're always ready to assist you. I recommend you stop by and try some of their meat. read more

The quality of the meat is the best I have found in Omaha. If you like tender steaks and ground beef that's cheaper than the Wal-Mart or Hy-Vee with no gristly surprises stuck in your teeth, try coming here. They will also slice and package the stuff for you REALLY nice, ready for the freezer. Kicked 1 star off for the first clerk having never heard of country ham and having to call for a manager to interpret my strange Southern moon language. Oh lord. Omaha. Just... Omaha. Out here I guess you order country hams from Virginia online 'cuz JGM can't even get 'em in. Jesus wept. read more

Didn't know about Just Good Meat until today. Husband and I decided to go check it out and what a great surprise!! Staff were friendly and helpful, wonderful selection of everything meat, rubs, sauces. Prices can't be beat. This will definitely become our new go to, sorry Faraway. read more

This is a fantastic, local butcher shop in Omaha. Although it was busy during the holidays when I stopped in, everyone was kind and friendly and ensured I found what I needed. Despite being picked over already, the selection was still very impressive. I'm already planning my next trip back! read more

They have so many different types of fresh meats. The staff is warm and friendly and very helpful. If you are curious about meats and spices there are so many things they can educate your taste buds with. There prices are very reasonable. read more

Omg what a perfect place to buy meats. The personnel absolutely perfect. So helpful. Really like this place

Heard about this place and we like elk meat so we thought we'd check them out since their website said they had some. It's not as large as I thought but they had a lot of variety crammed in everywhere. Definitely have to wear a mask to enter. Parking available out front which was nice. There is a little section of gift items and items on sale. Freezers have pork, elk, Buffalo, chicken, lamb, goat, grass fed beef, seafood of all kinds and jerky. There's sauces and sausages, deli meat, beef sticks and smoked meats. It was amazing to see how many different ways meat can be packaged. We picked out the ground elk we wanted and sadly no seafood since we didn't have room to take it home to Colorado. Maybe next time. read more

I will not be going back there. They have a great price on 85% ground beef - $4.99 per pound - but I think it is a lot fattier cut than what they are advertising. Lots of white in the meat, and when I cooked the burgers they significantly shrunk and there was a massive amount of grease. It looked like 70% cut. read more

A great little meat market!! I had lots of help while debating on what wild meat to choose for a chili contest at our local fair. They are so friendly and are quick to serve you and I love the chatter and banter amongst the butchers and customers. It's easy to drive up to and has a great market ambiance. read more

Friendly helpful honest butchers. You can get just about any type of meat here, but beef is the name of the game here. I got a bone-in ribeye. I also got some of the house-made sausages. They were as good as they proclaimed. Fantastic bite. No gristle and it tasted like meat versus fillers. The bacon and cheese brats were juicy without feeling fatty. I also got a cold antipasti platter. if I were in town longer, I would become a regular and get some of their family pack assorted meats. read more

Lots to choose from, family owned and delicious food especially the baked beans. They are so yummy.

First and last time customer. Awful communication and customer service. Ordered a bundle online on November 14th, said it would take 5-7 days on the website. Went in on the 5 day mark and was told I'd receive a phone call when it was ready, 13 days later and still no phone call and the website status was stuck on "Processing". Called on the 27th and they gave me the run around and said they'd call me by Friday the 29th, and received no phone call. On Saturday the 30th I sent an email saying I'd dispute the fraudulent charges with my credit card company and that I just wanted a refund. Sunday Dec 1st they magically prepared the order in a couple hours, despite me telling them via email I didn't want it anymore. I called them back and they gave me some sob story about the holidays. No thanks, I just want my money back. I did get a refund, but a little communication would have gone a long way. I wanted the meat BEFORE Thanksgiving, if that wasn't going to be possible that should have been communicated. It never should have taken 17 days to get around to making an order, what a waste of time. read more

Staff is always super friendly. Product is always great. The pea & cheese salad is SO GOOD!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE customer service from these guys. My parents and I came in for the first time this afternoon and were amazed by the amount and varieties of meat. The gentlemen behind the counter talked to us all about the elk and buffalo, telling us about what sold out during the holidays and what was popular. We ended up leaving with several NY strips, bacon wrapped filets, scallops, pork chops, and pork belly ( I've been DYING to make crispy pork belly for months now ) We will absolutely be back and I'll be recommending this meat market to everyone. Thank you for the amazing experience :) my dad raved about how kind and informative everyone was! read more

How have I not review Just good Meats yet?? I have been coming here for over 15 years. But recently they keep getting better and better. The costs and quality are superb especially when compared to the chain grocery strores. While they are not a true Butcher they are a wonderful meat supplier. Everyone working there is super knowledgeable on what they have and very friendly. The cost savings here are impressive. A whole beef Filet here trimmed and packaged is at least 1/2 to 2x the cost of a grocery store while the quality is better. They have wonderful pork options with no solutions to preserve shelf life. They also offer some lunch options I need to try one of these days. They look great. If you are wanting any quality cut of meat this is the place to go~ read more

Meat was ok but the kid wrapped steaks that were not the ones we selected. The steaks went From thick on one side to thin on the other resulting in the steak not being cooked evenly read more

Dog bones, frozen meat, fresh meat, marinated meat, in house jerky, meat seasonings. Those are just a few of the wonders we found inside Just Good Meats. You can find unusual cuts here at this local "butcher shop" and if I can't find something at the Asian store, I come here. You will find goat meat, ox tails, and some unconventional cuts. You can also get huge slabs of meat like the rack of a pig for ribs. They have fresh, frozen, and marinated so there is definitely some excellent selection. This is OMAHA MEAT at it's finest. This was the first time I have been back since we got a dog, and I loved the "dog bone" bin for marrow bones to give to your dog. I believe these have been either dried or smoked as they dont look like the raw ones I give Henri. It brightened my day that we could bring something home for him. Ribeye, chicken and jerky for the parents, and a big ole bone for Henri! read more

Great meats. Great variety of frozen meats. We love to come here for the best cut, or for a large roast. Service is reasonable and fair. Knows their business. If anything could be improved, it'd be the parking, if only because some days are quite busy. Still, while parking wasn't simple, the service was great. One learns the value of the service and the meat trumps any whining about parking. Oh! Great sandwiches too! read more

This place amazed me. We got so many different types of meats, cheeses and salads for little to nothing. When you approach this hole in the wall kind of place you're unsure of what you will be walking into, but trust me, it is totally worth it. They have walls and walls of different types of meat. They have fresh& frozen as well for the more exotic kinds. We got the crab salad and the homemade potato salad, and both are great. We also got Cherry wood smoked Bacon; I don't think I can eat store bought bacon again. This was so tender, fatty, and so full of flavor. We got a pork roast stuffed with a cheese and Apple stuffing and it was wrapped in the delicious cherry bacon. Normally, I cannot eat pork because it gets too dry. With this, I could of ate the whole roast. It was tender and juicy. Finally, we got what we went there for, a rack of lamb. The lamb was in nice portions and a nice price. Overall, we cannot wait to go back to this place. We got two salads, two blocks of cheese, bacon, pork roast, a ribeye, and a rack of lamb for $40.00. This beats any competition out of the water. They also serve breakfast & lunch specials. read more

I am happy that we moved near a location, I don't have to drive 40 minutes to get our favorite meats anymore!!

I like going into this Meat store, as everyone is friendly and it reminds me of the old butcher shops that was in the neighborhoods when I was a kid. Small place, with just enough room to walk around, nothing more , nothing less. Nice meat counter when you can buy your steaks and some freezer spaces where you can grab the variety boxes. The staff is friendly , relaxed and helpful with no pushing to buy more as other places do. They do have a small area where you can purchase locally made cheese and other goodies. The steaks themselves are nice sized and are very good. I love getting My New York Strips and Porterhouses here. They also have some good ribs which we buy frequently. Every once in a while we will buy the dog a bone as an extra treat. read more

Here it is Tuesday and I'm just getting around to a review after stopping last Friday. It's been a weekend long meat coma that I'm just recovering from. It all started with their little smokies on Friday night as a snack. Saturday started out slow with the jerky leading me back to leftover little smokies and brisket bacon burgers on the grill Saturday night. Sunday was more jerky and brisket bacon burgers for a late lunch. A couple days of recovery and I'll get back at it. read more

Great cuts and great prices. Get groceries at a grocery store and meat from a proper butcher.

Friendly service. Fair Prices. Great selection of quality products. If you like meat, it's hard to go wrong with this locally owned business. My in-laws from San Diego were in town over Labor Day weekend. Naturally, I wanted to show them all the best local spots. And where better to go for steaks then Just Good Meat? We picked up three bone-in rib-eyes. My in-laws said the quality of the cut for the price (about $40 for all three) couldn't be found in San Diego. I was like, hey, this is Nebraska -- what else did you expect? The cashier suggested a Chef's Mate rub that was perfect on the final product. We ate like kings that night. Besides an ever-rotating selection of fresh cuts of beef, chicken, pork and more, the little shop is lined with freezers stocked with all the above and more exotic offerings like alligator and frog legs. They also recently started making their own bbq -- pulled pork, smoked chicken, etc. right alongside house made bbq sauces. So hit them up for catering or even a quick bite during lunch if you're in the area. read more

Everything here is always amazing! The staff, the meat, I can't begging to say enough good things about this place. You guys rock!!

May be just good meat but the customer service is horrible. No one smiles, no one says thank you, no pleasantries what so ever. Yes, the product sells itself, but at some point another good butcher shop will open and JGM will not be able to be able to compete. read more

Like the sign says, it's just good meat. The staff is friendly and there is a huge selection of cuts, fresh and frozen. There are some interesting part items, like a 10 lb pail of Texas Chili or the 10 lb pail of Sloppy Joe. There are also a couple of bins of dog bones, which is good because dogs get jealous and will eat a standing rib roast when you're not looking. The prices are amazing. If you're from out of town, they're probably 1/3 what you'll find for the same thing on the East and West coasts. read more

This place is seriously the best! So when you walk in, it's a small place and nothing fancy but you don't need fancy when these guys know their stuff. They always are busy when I go and they don't stop moving! They guys are funny and all while doing that know exactly what you are asking for and do everything to help you. When I walked in and asked for 2" thick New York Strip steaks they looked at me like I might have lost my mind. The guy asked if I was going to sous vide them (pretty sure he thought he was going to teach me a thing or two and introduce me to the amazing world of sous vide) so I happily smiled and said "Yup! We always do that and grill them off at the end to make the perfect steak." His look of shock that I even knew what it was made me walk out with a glow. LOL He didn't say it in a condisending way like he could have but rather in a excited teaching moment way so sorry to burst his bubble. ;) We've always been happy with them and so excited they are close to our house. Never had a bad experience and they always have what we want, even the unusual things we've asked for. read more

I've gotta say, the meat and selection here is great. You can get lost in the many different ways to combine meats, to include steaks, grill packages, and specialty meats. The workers are extremely helpful and will take the time to work with you on getting you what you need. My only complaint would be the prices. It's a very expensive place to get meat. Is it 20-30% "better" than the warehouse or grocery store options? Aaahhh...can't say it is. If I want the absolute best, I'll come here. For my weekly needs, probably not. read more
