I'm going to be staying in California for a while while getting some things straightened out, and I'm sure going to miss Schlotzsky's. These sandwiches are by far better than almost anything else I've ever had. I always get the deluxe original with extra olives. I can't think of a better sandwich, I wish somebody would open some in California because I usually try and eat at least a couple of these every month. I was in town for Special Olympics. My daughter and I have gluten allergies and have to eat GF. I wasn't aware Schlotzsky's had GF options till my wife searched an app on her phone. I called ahead and spoke w/a manager and she assured me they take precautions to stop cross contamination. They cleaned the area, used fresh ingredients and the bread was so soft and flavorful I couldn't tell it was GF. The sandwich was huge and my daughter had the GF pizza. I am a 61-year-old grandmother of two. In my younger years, I worked at a Schlotzsky's, so, I know what the turnover time of a Schlotzsky's sandwich is, even in peak business hours. I also know what customer service is as I've worked in customer service, education, retail, and in the restaurant industry most of my life. This was my experience at the Andrew's Hwy. Schlotzsky's in Midland. The first thing I noticed is the curt way "Lisa" (that's what she called herself) took my order over her handy headset. I asked for a medium original, her answer was, "Is that all?" I said, no, I'd like it made special please, without tomato or onion, and with jalapeño. Again, her answer was, "Is that all?" I responded, "No, I'll also have some jalapeño chips", again, "Is that all?"...You don't want a drink? It was so abrupt, I thought, she doesn't realize the customer spending money here is what pays her salary. So, I wrote that off as everyone has their own pattern of communication, that maybe perhaps she wasn't the best choice of some one to work a busy window before being trained about responding to customers with a little less of a guillotine affect. She gave me the total for my order and I pulled on through and waited for the customer in front of me to get their order (3-5 minutes, not bad, I thought). After I pulled up, I was thinking my wait time, might be an additional 5-7 minutes. After a near 10 minute wait, I felt sure my sandwich was almost ready. I never dreamed it would take an additional 5 minutes to get my one Medium original. My line of sight was directly into the prep area. The first thing I noticed is the cook's bare ass showing (about 3 inches of shiny, hair free ass). He kept using his gloved hands to reach down and pull his pants up and his oxford shirt down. Each time, he would transfer bits of food and mustard to the back of his black shirt, transferring who knows what from his butt cheeks onto the very gloves that would be preparing the sandwiches for the cars behind me. I began looking in as I had received a call and was being asked to be somewhere. One of the other girls made mention that I was looking into the window. "Lisa" replied to her, "She gone be alright, she ugly though." To which the girl who mentioned I was looking laughed and looked out at me. They had no idea I could hear them clearly. When my sandwich FINALLY got finished, "Lisa" opened the window and sweetly said, "Here you go ma'am". I asked her name, she said Lisa. I said, "I'm not alright (due to the ridiculous wait time), but also, I think I'm gorgeous!" She knew right away I had heard her. So, long story, but I want everyone who goes here to know, you might get smack talked or get some butt crack in your meal. It'd be better to travel to the one by the Kohl's in Midland or to Odessa if someone needs a Schlotzsky's fix. I won't ever be back and as a community member, I will actively be telling people not to go to this one. You can't go lower than a one star...sorry! read more

Traveling in midland and wanted to try something new. Ordered online for pickup. Food was bland and dry and not tasty. Upon arrival they had no one in the lobby to serve customers. Waited 5-10 minutes for someone to come up front to acknowledge me. Had I not already ordered and paid, I would have went somewhere else. Thank goodness I had a door dash coupon, otherwise I'd be upset for paying for the food. Poor quality food with even worse service. Would rate this as an avoid. read more

Ordered an Uber eats order and was missing an entire item, added cheese when no cheese request was made, forgot soup toppings, incorrect side items, sandwich was smothered in mustard and they didn't even face the buns the same way lol. Came about a month ago at 6pm (it was dark), and they didn't have the sign lit up or the menu. My assumption is this store is ran by people who don't really want to work. I won't be back. read more

And about 7 workers in the back talking and laughing with each other. The workers in the back kept making eye contact and turning away from us. Won't be back. There has to be a level of "care" when you have a job. It does not exist here. Unless you're buddy buddy with staff don't expect even decent service. I say that from experience. They will pass out anything in any fashion. Cold, sloppy, greasy, messy. whatever suits their mood. It's unfortunate as this is my third and final attempt at good service here. Whether intentional or not the lady tried to overcharge me. Check your order and receipt. My aunt worked at schlotskys for so many years and to see it in midland now is pretty disappointing. I will continue to go to locations outside of Midland, my hometown. But as for my trips in Midland (mainly the Andrews hwy location) they HAVE GOT to improve their service and care. Food is decent, service is horrific. Went in today, one other person in the restaurant, so not busy. No one was at the register so I waited a few minutes, nothing. Then I said, "Hello," above normal voice, nothing. I then stuck my head around the corner towards the kitchen, young lady said they would be with me shortly. So, I went back to register for a minute or so, nothing. So, I left. Never to darken their doorsteps again. This place makes decent pizza for a fair price, but it's not even worth the trip for their sandwich's as so far they've messed up 4 out of the 5 times I went. As I sat in the drive through waiting for my sandwich I noticed a personal drink and two spray cans of Lysol. While I appreciate the effort to minimize germs...I prefer they not leave the chemicals on the food prep surface. When I asked about it I was rudely and incorrectly told that they had a lid on it. One did but the the didn't And the fact an employees drink was also there by the food was not addressed at all. I had already paid and taken my food. Of course the cinnamon roll has no icing and my sandwich is made incorrectly. Needless to say I won't be visiting this place again...or any place without checking yelp first!!! read more

Terrible management which led to my terrible experience of terrible service. Trash was everywhere and the drive through took 15-20 mins after my card was charged for the meal. I was the only one in the drive through and no one was being served dining-in. When the sand which did come out it was poorly sorted and minimal ingredients (contents). If Schlotzskys knew that their name was getting dragged this deep in the mud they would've pulled this franchise owner a long time ago. There no wonder the parking lot is vacant the majority of the time I have passed by after my experience. I hope no one has a bad experience like this again at this location. My medium original was all bread and skimpy on the inside. It had the butt end of a tomato about the size of a dime. Complained to the manager and was told they go by weight, (reason for the all bread and skimpiness i guess) but she did make another one that was better. read more

Look...i understand this is "fast food" and not to expect something gourmet but this place is absolutely filthy. I usually visit the Wadley location but went here because there was no line at the drive -thru (go figure..). After paying for my food the cashier went to make the sandwich with the same one-gloved hand that he took my cash from seconds before... As i observed while waiting the ridiculous 25 mins for my medium sandwich... i saw the majority of staff were also not wearing gloves. There was food and trash all over the floor, random plastic items and trash on the counters. I watched as one employee used a nasty rag sitting in the sink to wipe down the chopping board where they prepare ingredients. I've eaten here throughout the years of it being at this location. It has been going downhill for awhile now. I just ordered a Albuquerque Turkey Sandwich and they put so much sauce on it the entire sandwich was soggy. It was falling apart and just not edible, especially for a drive-thru order, impossible to eat in the car, not to mention there was not a single napkin in the bag. I was so happy to find a Schlotzsky's. The young lady that waited on me was nice and entered me order correctly (no olives). I was the only one in the restaurant. It all went bad when the food came out with a massive amount of black olives. The young lady at the counter took it back to the kitchen. Their solution was to scrap the olives and most of the toppings and run it through the oven again. It was horrible. If I was deathly allergic to olives, I would have been in a hospital.
