Driving through town in our way from Baton Rouge to Austin and looking for something. Somewhat healthy. This places closed BEFORE the closing time that was stated. I like the sandwich's but would be really nice if the staff would simply smile a little. Plus the servicer forgot our Cinnamon Bun. The last 4 times (that's an exact number) we've picked up an online order, they have either not given us all our items, or they have gotten our order wrong. Oh, and because this has been a pattern, we finally tried calling the location (twice), and the line was unavailable both times. For the staff: get it together (respectfully)! Have been here 45 minutes and no food. Many drive thru orders done, it appears. Several customers have asked for refunds and left. We've been burned here before on long waits, this will be the last. I too often overlook this place; my recent meal here left me stuffed. I got the medium original with chips and a drink. I was full after eating the 1st half of my sandwich. I can't imagine why someone would even consider ordering a large sandwich meal and try to consume it in the restaurant itself. The menu offered lots of variety with the ability to have each sandwich custom prepared. My only gripe is that there was absolutely no ambiance during our visit. No music, no talk radio. Went through the drive through and the girl gave back the wrong amount of change (she gave me 10$ and I only was supposed to get back a few cents). Told her about it and she didn't understand so I had to work the math out in front of her. Afterwards she took the money back and gave me cents but less than what I was supposed to get. We are in town for a baseball tournament and the team needed to order 25 medium sandwiches for pickup in between games. Gerald the manager was extremely helpful and kind, he communicated with me for several days to make sure that all the orders were just as we wanted them. He had them ready in perfect time. Went to Schlotzskys in Brenham Saturday afternoon. Not one car in the lot, not one customer dining. Half the tables in the place were dirty and had food crumbs and residue on them, food and crumbs on the floor, and the area above the trash bins in the front we're covered in food and crumbs! Filthy! Unbelievable for any Schlotzsky's I've ever been in, and I've been dining at Schlotzsky's sine 1977. Service was prompt and food was good, but come on guys! Clean up your restaurant! I could hear the crew laughing and have a large old time in the back, while another customer came in and still dirty tables and floor. Need to replace the whole crew. Fresh and unique, especially their sourdough bread -- flavorful sandwiches and flatbreads. Their specialty sandwiches can fill you so much. Try their Tuscan or Chipotle sandwich with sourdough bread. Tip: Order the right size. Their medium sized sandwich is as big, if not bigger, than a McDonalds quarter pounder. The size of their large sandwiches is jaw-dropping. Be warned that your orders may take awhile before they are ready -- quite the slow paced. But it's worth the wait. read more

Drove to Brenham from Temple today to take my kids to the Blue Bell visitor's Center. They insisted on Schlotzsky's for lunch. The restaurant was filthy! I wanted to turn around and walk out, but my little kids wanted to eat there. I ordered $42 worth of food & drinks. The ice machine was broken so they had ice buckets and a scoop. I don't know why that grossed me out, but it did. They were out of sweet tea and we asked twice for a refill and were ignored. The food order was accurate but with the conditions of the restaurant, I had lost my appetite. I let the kids eat, and we left. I stopped at Sonic for some fresh drinks to enjoy for our drive home. That place needs to be closed down and deep cleaned. I do not recommend this restaurant whatsoever. read more

Sunday 4/3 I visited this restaurant by drive through. The cashier (male 55-60 year old) said "I want to tell you something " He turned off his headset then proceeded to say "you look like a good girl whom never gets in trouble" I had a face of disgust. He repeated himself because I didn't respond. I told him that's weird. He then says "you look like one of those girls who never does anything wrong" I tell him your making me uncomfortable stop and he responds with " I meant you look like a very nice girl and Im waiting on your food" then he closes the window. If I could give this place a 0 it would have it. We walk in the customer service is horrible the guy at the counter just stood there. We clearly said how we wanted our sandwiches and it's put on the receipt yet comes out completely wrong. So 10 minutes later a new sandwich that was just throw together and cold soup. We take the soup to the counter and ask for a manger who didn't care and had attitude she said so you want me to warm it up or a refund. Disgusting how the workers act and how the customers are treated. THE RUDEST bunch of employees I have ever encountered. Came in at 1:30pm on a Sunday and one of the doors was locked to enter the restaurant. Can someone say illegal? Fire hazard much? Another patron opened the door for us and the woman at the counter didn't even give a greeting, simply stared at us until we ordered our food. Another employee went to the door after we entered and locked the door again. After we sat down waiting for food, another guy came up and was let in by someone else. He walked to the counter to order and the woman informed him that the restaurant was closed. Closed? It's 2pm on a Sunday! Your website and the door both indicate you are open significantly later. A third group came in and were told immediately upon entering that the restaurant was closed for Father's Day. Excuse me? Where is the sign on the door or any other indication that there would be a change in the normal hours?!? I went to the counter to purchase a fountain drink. The register was closed. The woman had to use the drive thru register and told me $1.29 as my total. After handing her $2, she went back to the open register and took a minute and a half to figure out my $0.71 that was due to me in change(no exaggeration, I was checking my watch). She even used a calculator. More. Than. Once. On second thought, why was a calculator needed if she was really using the register? My thought is that she pocketed my money. I should've paid more attention. I will not only NEVER go back to this restaurant, but will not be back to this chain. read more

We already are fans of Schlotskys and their menu, but at this location, my fiance and I both independently noticed that our sandwiches were very well made. Now that may sound silly, but we both felt that particular care was taken when putting our meal together. You often end up without contents at the edges of the bread or with drippy contents and we experienced neither. I went here because it was the only fast food spot nearby, and I needed something quick. I've never been a huge fan of Schlotzsky's, but, like I said, it was the only thing nearby. I got a chicken and avocado pizza, and it was the most disgusting thing I have eaten in a while. The entire pizza was covered in mayonnaise, which I hate. It was basically pizza crust with mayonnaise, extremely chewy chicken, and brown avocados. There wasn't even any cheese. And it took them about 15 minutes just to make my order! This is supposed to be fast food! Horrible, and I'm never going to Schlotzsky's again if I can help it. read more

I won't be going back. I've seen them not use gloves to make food and complained about it. The last straw was last week, a staff member with VERY long dark hair was allowed in the kitchen to make my food and she wasn't wearing a hair tie let alone a hairnet. She was literally flipping all this hair in the kitchen while making food which I wouldn't even do in my own kitchen. I don't know who she was trying to impress, but it was disgusting. I called and complained but I don't think they plan to do anything. The sandwiches are of course delish !, But the service is sub par if you ask me if difer and want a diferent cheese or meat on a sandwich the servers cant seem to not freak out If they cant just press a button to get you order in it takes around 7to 14 mins in the driveway because of this but the food keeps me coming back is you are not in a hurry to drive you will be fine. One of the few restaurants that have gluten free options this is one reason why I am still a regular at this store. My order is constantly messed up every time I go and I must check my bag before I leave or I will have to go home and drive back. This has happened roughly around a dozen times in the last 3 months. The customer service is horrible and the store has different hours and every time I asked each employee the hours I was given a different answer. The one in Round Rock is stellar, but I was poisoned by this location. I ordered gluten free sandwiches, and while the first one met my needs, the second one assigned me to the latrine for two days. I should have realized that it was not the sandwich I ordered, which should have been pastrami, but I wrongfully assumed the built the wrong sandwich rather than charge me for gluten free and then poison me.
