I have always been a huge fan of Schlotzsky's, but I am no longer. I pulled up to the drive up and ordered. I pulled up to the window after a very LONG wait and the young man at the window said, "Sir, you never ordered and just pulled up to the window." After I recalled the conversation and the order to him, he just replied, "You never ordered." I looked at him and pleasantly told him I didn't have time for this nonsense and drove off. I ordered a salad at the Schlotzsky's that normally comes with meat. I ordered it without the meat. Most places will give you a discount when you order a salad without the meat, but they did not give me a discount. The salad that they gave me was miniature. It was over $11 with tax. That salad was so small that it would not have even qualified as a side salad. I am still in shock that anyone would have the nerve to charge that kind of money for just a few bites of salad. The drive-through attendant was also the least friendly drive-through attended thatI think I have had the displeasure of encountering for years. I've come several times for lunch and am always treated great. One of the managers (Summer, I think) is so nice and always gives great suggestions. They had all the food that we ordered and everyone was pleased with the sandwiches and the salads. This location is the absolute worst. Every time we try to go here we have such a terrible experience that we will boycott it for a few months, eventually give it another try, only to be disappointed again. Last night my husband paid for avocado and asked for no tomatoes. They didn't give him the avocado and left the tomatoes on his sandwich. Didn't realize until we got home. The girl at the drive thru had our order ready in her hand with the window open and turned around to argue with her coworker for several minutes without just handing us our food and letting it get cold!! So unprofessional. I was also grossed out by employees not wearing gloves during covid. The girl at the window had nail polish that was chipping off, I saw her accept payments and touch food & drinks without washing hands in between and no gloves. I saw no other cleanliness measures besides wearing masks. I felt very grossed out. When the girl at the window finally turned around to acknowledge us and hand us our food, she said "here's your bag and your pepperoni pizza". I said, "do you mean cheese pizza? We ordered cheese". She looked at me right in the eye and lied and said "yes". I went home to see she rang me up for pepperoni by accident, knew the order wasn't correct, and proceeded to let me go home with the wrong type of pizza without fixing the problem first. My 5 star review was 8 years ago. That was then, this is now. I order the exact same 2 sandwiches and every time I have them read back my order multiple times until they verbally get it right. Then when I get my simple order every time there are mistakes. They give one or both sandwiches the wrong bread or keep the ingredients on the sandwiches that I ask them to leave off. Although I always ask for two small sandwiches they often upgrade to a medium or large and charge me for it. Please hire workers that can focus on listening to food orders. When I do get my sandwiches though they are always delicious. read more

SCHLOTSKYS!!! another austin stop i love to visit! a trip to schlotsky's is a once-a-year occurence for me, so obvii this was the first place i stopped by to grab some lunch when i left the airport. it sells cinnabon too, so if you're craving some really unhealthy sweet stuff, there you go. otherwise, the delicious bread on the left is the way to go. a small sized fresh-veggie with jalapeno chips and a giant cookie is all i need to fill me up for the rest of the day. the bread is probably good enough to eat alone. kinda like a panini? but not? hard to describe, but easy to eat. it may have a weird name, but the bread and sandwiches are nomiful. I asked for no pickles and even though my receipt says this, my sandwich only had a small amount of beef, no cheese, tomato or onion and most of the lettuce and beef were hanging outside of the sandwich. The top bun was so hard I couldn't bite through it and had to remove it. The 3 pieces of avocado in the salad were smaller than the croutons- which made up most of the salad. My delivery order was 30 minutes late. Then they messed up nearly every part of my order. When I called to query to get them to fix it the phone rang until it hung on me. The sandwich I ordered was supposed to be base protein Ham, then I chose Add Meat pastrami +$2.00. What came had no ham on it at all and very little meat total. The salad I ordered without tomato, and it came with tomato anyways. Guess they thought I wouldn't notice or react since it's delivery. Think again. I will never order nor eat at any Schlotzsky's again. Update: I got through after being hung up on (due to timeout because they didn't answer) about 4 times and mentioned the issues to the person and she refunded the order so I changed this from a one star to a four star review. Wow. I'm amazed at the size and cleanliness of this restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Excellent food and the prices were good. I loved the decor of the place including the outside furniture. Order at the counter. I had the turkey bacon sandwich minus the tomato with chips and a drink. My Mom ordered the original with chips and a drink. She also had a Cinnabon cinnamon roll. Sandwich has three different sizes to choose from. Small, medium and large. Medium was plenty for me to eat. Drinks were do it yourself. Food arrived hot and exactly how we ordered.
