THE WORST SCHLOTZSKYS LOCATION. I ordered a strawberry CHICKEN salad and they forgot the chicken. Went back the next day and the manager refused to look at my receipt and said I should've called and he can only provide me with a discount. I told him I didn't even get to eat it, I was busy with work and that was my only chance to get some protein in. and he said I should've brought him the salad. Luckily I had the salad in my car. I TRIED to give him the salad and he said oh no you have to bring it same day. It's a fast food salad.... Lettuce and a some chicken. And one strawberry they cut up. Like really? After 20 years of eatingSchlotzskys in Houston and around Texas I came here and found out all the other stores are doing it wrong. Got a sandwich that had 1.5 slices of meat. When I took it up to the counter the manager just to see if it was correct, the manager ( a less than friendly guy) said, "ya, that's right on 3 ounces". Since I don't carry a scale with me, I took his word for it and ate my unsatisfying sandwich. The store also had a weird "dirty mop bucket" smell. Disappointing since I live in Abilene now. I visited this location on 4/2/25. The employee working the window didn't say a single word to me. Not even to ask for payment. When I got to the window it looked like she was fiddling with something, so I looked away and waited for her to greet me. I happened to look back over and she was just looking at me. I gave her my card for payment, she charged it and gave me my food. Not a single word came out of her mouth directed to me. She spoke to one of her coworkers though, so I know she was capable of speaking. I ordered a supreme pizza that ended up being half cooked. The crust was doughy and lukewarm. I visited from Austin for a quick visit to Abilene. I wanted to eat something fresh to cool off from the heat. I ordered an avocado chicken salad and drink. Cashier was not welcoming but that's okay, got my cup headed to the soda machine and all around the dispenser was sooo dirty. I continued to get my drink and sat down. Received my salad. I had asked for no bacon...bacon eas all over the place. Okay, I removed it, stared to eat, chicken was so cold, it felt almost frozen - I know wanted to cool off but c'mon. With the location this place has, it should be a gold mine. But there has always been personnel issues. Today they were short handed which meant very...slow...service. Is it ready yet? This is fast food, and it was ok, so I won't gripe...too much. Of course we wanted a Cinnabon, so another short wait. Again, it was ok. I love Schlotzsky's. I've loved it for years. I even know how to spell it without looking at the cup. However, today may be my last day to enjoy the best bread in the world. This place is filthy. Our table was covered in crumbs and greasy fingerprints from the people before....and we are having a 2:00 lunch. This was one of many dirty tables. Nothing has been cleaned. The walls are dirty. We are swatting flies. Paint is peeling off from where former posters have hung. I just overheard one of the workers talking about her new tattoo that she wants to get. What a bizarre experience. We placed a small catering order (less than 20) of boxed lunches at 2:45 p.m.. At 4:00 p.m., I missed a call from the GM. By the time I called back at 5:30 p.m., he explained that he had called to ask if they could cancel our catering order because they were closed, but fortunately they had managed to complete the order. While the last-minute attempt to cancel our $280 order was stressful, I was grateful that they were able to complete the order. I was impressed that they were even able to deliver everything on time at 5:45 p.m.. Unfortunately, our food was delivered REEKING of cigarette smoke. We had purchased boxed lunches to keep everyone's meals separate but it smelled so horribly that we had to throw away all of the paper bags and boxes the food was delivered in, as well as all of the napkins, and repackage each meal. This was just a very disappointing experience given the $15 delivery fee and the $45 tip. read more

I was expecting the "small" to be small, but after subbing for the Dark Rye bread for Sourdough on the Angus Roast Beef and Cheese, I was floored by how big it is. Ounce for ounce it is larger than a Subway footlong: four ounces of meat, at least a ounce of cheese, and a whopping eight ounces of bread. That said, the roast beef was fattier than it should be, and the amount of bread sort of overpowered the cheeses (although great to have the cheese expertly melter). I thought the bread was weird and distracting; it was toasted, but it still had air pockets on the inside, essentially making it structurally kind of weak. The rye could have used more sweetness, and if there was one thing off with the sandwich, it was the proportion of the heavier tastes. Guess I should have kept the mayo if, for nothing else, some lemony relief. That said, not a bad value at close to six bucks. Place was pretty empty when I went in and the staff was friendly and even said goodbye to me. read more

This is too hilarious and pathetic all at once ordered their new brisket sandwich. Before leaving I looked at it. It was nothing but bread. I called for the manager and he says they weigh it out. Today was my fifth visit since the attitude adjustment restructuring. The first 4 were great - but they were all inside the restaurant - today I used the drive through - food was good but service and the attitude of the woman at the window - was beyond bad. After 5 trips, I can say it's getting better. They offer a great military/first responder discount, but in my person experience have had trouble taking orders in an efficient and accurate fashion. I have to repeat my order very slowly to certain employees, step by step, which is mildy time consuming but not overly annoying as some yelpers have mentioned. The last time I was there, I decided to skip the drive-in and eat in. The manager came by and chatted, asking if everything was perfect, which it pretty much was. Big salads, sandwiches, etc. Now for the caution...be sure to check your order carefully when you get something to go from here. We just went through the drive through and ordered 5 different things. 3 of the 5 were wrong or missing. Gave us the wrong salad, left out a pizza, and had completely wrong condiments and veggies on one sandwich. Unfortunately this is far from the first time we've had this problem here. We checked the order before driving off and noticed the missing pizza but didn't look close enough to notice the other problems. (Shame on us for that I suppose.) This is the location made famous for closing due to attitude adjustment and retraining. For a while, it worked. The food was the normal fare and the staff had better attitudes. Then it started slipping again. I didn't mind going back, because the food stayed fairly good. Probably still ate there 2-3 times a month. However, the speed started to slow. Today was the topper. I checked it out first and I thought I was in good shape considering it was still about half hour to noon, the parking lot was only half full, 1 car at the window and 2 cars ahead of me at the speaker. How was I to know that my ENTIRE lunch break would be spent trapped in the drive thru. How do I know how long I was there, you ask? Luckily, we have unlimited data on our phones now, because I was able to watch a complete episode of Friends on my phone before I got my food. It was a good one too. It was the one where Monica makes jam because she's depressed about breaking up with Richard, Joey dislocated his arm and Chandler learns the hug and roll. Good show. I really don't get the low Reviews for this location. They had some trouble when they first opened, but who doesn't. I eat here about 3 times a month. They sell Cinnabon at this location. We came here just to get a Pecan Cinnabon, but the lady who helped us just gave us a regular Cinnabon when we ordered and paid. She said "sorry my heads not in the right place." Like okay, it's okay, we have our days. We had asked to get what we purchased. The Cinnabon ended up being cold. My husband asked the same lady if we can have this warmed up. Which you'd assume would only take 1 min or so. We waited for more than fives mins and my husband had to go up to the lady, who at this time was sweeping the floors, all she said was "oops". We got the Cinnabon back, and it was still cold! I don't usually buy pastries from fast food/restaurant chain because I doubt it can be good. Except I was craving some cinnamon rolls and just happened to drive past by and saw the sign for cinnamon rolls. What a waste of $3.78!!!! it's dry, has barely any taste, and the frosting is all clumped together as if it was so old (probably is). I had to throw it away after a few bites. Well, I don't particularly like to review a spot based on one visit but I feel this one is a must. The experience was... Awkward. Here's why: So we just finished eating somewhere and were looking for some sweet treats. We decided hey, let's go to Cinnabon for some rolls. So... The food: All we ordered was one cinnamon roll and a water. That's it. In all fairness I can't really review this place based on that. That single roll however, was okay. It was the epitome of what you'd call sweet. These rolls are a donuts evil twin, really. I didn't know something this sweet existed. If you like extreme icing type sweets, this is your spot. The establishment: Nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Everything about this place was good in terms of decor and presentation; no gripes there. The employees: Okay, here we go: When we walked in the first thing we noticed was that there were two people conked out sleeping in the restaurant. I mean totally passed out; who does that? I thought that was weird/awkward and figured the employees would say something. We ordered and sat down to eat. The guy at the register noticed this slumber feast and went to go talk to them. However, after standing in front of them for a minute or two without saying anything, he just disregarded it and went back to his duties. Okay, so he didn't want to deal with hobos; I get it. Here's the thing, we finished our food and tried to slip past these guys that were sleeping right next to the entrance by the way and I noticed they had uniforms on. Yes, uniforms! These were Schlotzkys/Cinnabon employees. What? I couldn't believe it. I've never seen such blatant disregard for professionalism. Come on Cinnabon, if you want to nap at least do it out of sight and not in front of your customers. I hope this was a fluke. If not, something needs to be done here. Hadn't been to a Schlotzsky's in years and was greatly disappointed. The southwestern salad I ordered didn't even have the tortilla strips or corn/black bean mix that is supposed to be on it. They gave me minuscule sized breadsticks too. And an employee's child was alone barefoot roaming freely and loudly throughout the restaurant. The gentlemen that waited on me was very friendly though. Schlotzsky's has always been great. I've never ordered from the drive thru so I can't comment on the service there, but ordering dine-in and to-go from within has always been on point. My favorite is the turkey bacon club sandwich. While not the healthiest option out there I like saving the second half of my sandwich for later. With a 10% student discount, Schlotzsky's remains to be one of my favorites! read more

Try the Caramel Pecanbon! They are amazing. I am not a big sandwich guy, but I will eat here anytime.
