Service was great. The waitress was helpful and took care of us. The margarita pizza is delicious. My husband had a specialty pizza and ate it all. We have been to Vagabond's numerous times. We are never disappointed. Highly recommend. By the way, their bread and butter is to die for. Hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. read more

Cozy ambiance. Mediocre food. Cork and pig pizza is way better. Service is good though

The last stop during my Abilene day trip was the wood-fire pizzeria Vagabond. We arrived at Vagabond exactly at 6:00 pm, impressed by their cork decor outside the shop. We were immediately greeted by the server and seated just as quickly. The place was pretty busy, as one would expect on a Saturday at 6 pm, so it was great to be seated right away. The table was already set with two water cups, two plates, two sets of silverware, and two napkins, so we didn't have to set the area ourselves. Our server came shortly after with a large glass bottle of water and took our drink orders. My girlfriend got a bottled Dr. Pepper while I stuck to water. I also noticed they serve plenty of wines as well as a good selection of craft beers. They have ten different specialty pizzas, and we settled on their most expensive: the Carnivore. I say most expensive, but it was $20 for a pizza that fed two. It took about 10-15 minutes before the pizza came out, which is impressively fast. All pizzas are about 12 inches and are sliced into sixes. If you're hungry, consider an appetizer or a dessert, but to us, it was a perfect size with plenty of meat. The crust is thin and crispy, as one would expect from a wood-fire pizza. It was really excellent. For dessert, my girlfriend and I ordered their Saturday Morning Cartoons, which is a panna cotta with Fruity Pebbles that I enjoyed but she adored (I let her eat most of it). All in all, the meal was around $30 plus the tip I added. We were in and out in under 40 minutes, which was quite impressive for a sit-down pizza restaurant. I highly recommend this to anyone living in or visiting Abilene. P.S. My girlfriend wanted my Yelp review to note that their women's bathroom has hair ties, bobby pins, a Tide pen, and other items that you never know you'll need until you do, which gives Vagabond extra brownie points for going above and beyond. RIYL: An affordable meal for two. read more

The food was delicious and I have no real issues except that I wish they would bring back the orzo pasta.

We recently tried Vagabond Pizza for the first time, and it perfect for a cozy dinner date. The atmosphere felt relaxed and the service stood out right away: the staff were genuinely friendly and checked in often without ever feeling intrusive. We started with the bread and butter, which was so good. The house-churned butter blended with garlic and black sea salt was rich, savory, and downright addictive--I'd go back just for that alone. For mains, we shared two pizzas: the classic Margherita and Mama's Favorite. Both were fresh and flavorful. read more

As soon as I walked I was greeted and felt very welcomed. My plan was to order food to go but started a great conversation with the bartender and decided to eat in the restaurant. I ordered the caprese as a started and it was delicious. I also ordered the Lucia pizza which was recommended and did not disappoint. I started this review months ago from my first visit. I have returned several times since. The Lucia is definitely my favorite pizza. This is a chill spot, great for a date or great place for a few friends to have some great draft beers. read more

Loved this spot in downtown Abilene. Super cool vibe, very good pizza. On a Friday night, we had to navigate an hour wait, but we headed nearby to Grain Theory for a quick refreshment while we waited. Once we were seated, enjoyed a selection from some nice wine options, then sampled three different pizza options for our group. The style here is the wood-fired Neopolitan. All three hit the spot. Our one salad order was also well-received. Service was great, and the owner/host was very engaging and fun to visit with. Totally recommend this spot for both the food and the vibe. read more

I was first a little disappointed, receiving an 8 ounce soda for $3 with no refills. But that was shortly followed by some of the best bread Ive had, plus the Lucia pizza I ordered. Environment was pleasant and the staff was wonderful. The service was really quick, and the way they're set up you can see a good portion of their process. I really wish I coulda gotten their Blackberry Cobbler, that looked awesome. Please switch the 8 oz sodas for 16 oz's at least, but beyond that zero complaints. As an update, the pizzas we got, we had as leftovers, and were just as great from the fridge. read more

Good food BUT THE SMALLEST $12 salad I have ever had (and I'm from Los Angeles so I know ridiculously overpriced salads).

insane delicious food! I def recommend to anyone who asks. I'm doing a b-day next time

Y'all!! I have no words for this fabulous find! This is a hidden gem in West Texas! Everything from the service, to the ambience, to the food is spectacular! If you live in Abilene or you are just traveling through, take time out to try this place. We had two pizzas and the dumplings. The dumplings are the most unique and flavorful item I have ever had. The dough is pasta and the chili oil just brings a kick. You can choose any pizza and never go wrong. We LOVED the Lucia with the crispy salami and pepper jelly. WOW! read more

Last night, Vagabond had an amazing win that they weren't even aware of. We're friends with a couple who just had their second baby yesterday. The husband is stationed out of Dyess. Neither one of them really knows anything really about what is uniquely available to eat in Abilene. My wife and I were on our way to the hospital after picking up their kid from daycare when we were asked to pick up some dinner. We had offered to get them anything in town to eat while at the hospital. Given how they were new to town, their regular from Dominoes was requested. It was at this point I suggested Vagabond, telling the couple how for years it's been the best. The wife saw the menu and was impressed, eager to try it out. (We ordered 1 Lucia, 1 Carnivore, 2 Crawfish Hand Pies) The order was placed online, right as we left our driveway, I received a text confirming the order, which was followed up 15-20mins later by another one stating it was ready for pickup. It felt fast. As I walked in, I saw the traditional sights: the owner at the front welcoming everyone in, a filled up room with various parties enjoy their food and conversations, a staff working hard and yet ready to serve. I was told by the owner to go up to the bar where my order was waiting for me. I was in and out so quickly that I could feel the warm air coming off the pizza as I took it outside to my car. My one regret was not telling the owner on my way out how this meal would be the first meal for a mom who just gave birth. When I got to the hospital, the food was still warm. When both the mother and father had their first bite of the Lucia, they both had that 'wow' reaction to how amazing the taste was. Everything ordered honestly received a 'wow.' It was perfect. I have had Vagabond ever since they were out of a food trailer. Since then, it has been the place I always bring people to, particularly if they are visiting from out of town. It was the place where my wife and I brought our kid for his first restaurant meal. The consistent experience of it all is simply the best. I don't review places often, but last night was special. Never a bad thing to say thank you to a group of people who unknowingly wowed a father and mother in a hospital room. Thank you. read more

In Abilene for work. We shared three pizzas and all were delicious. We were greeted by Tavish upon entering the restaurant, he promptly seated us and provided recommendations upon our request. He treated us to dessert since it was our first time at Vagabond, will definitely be back on our next visit. read more

Vagabond Pizza - Menu - Pizza Near Me - Abilene, Texas

Just driving through Abilene and serendipitously discovered this amazing place. I wasn't expecting such good and reasonably priced pizza in this little corner of Texas. The jalapeno pepper jelly condiment hit the spot! At least one of the employees here is from the East Bay in California. They have a large selection of Californian wines here. I mean that's all they have on their wine menu - California. No wines from anywhere else. Not that I'm complaining. read more

10/10 experience! Everything was superb. I've had the Lucia pizza before and it's always a crowd pleaser. It's a salami pizza with a sweet and spicy pepper jelly! The special for the day was a pizza with chorizo, red onion, egg sauce and mozzarella. Also really tasty. This was the first time we tried the Italian dumplings. They r topped with chili crunch oil and it adds just the right amount of heat. Overall great experience and will return!. Total for 2 appetizers, 2 pizzas, 1 coffee and 1 water was $65 without tip. read more

Delicious, authentic wood-fired pizza with great service in a good environment. Highly recommend this for a good meal.

Dine in | Dinner | $20-30 Delicious pizza and good service. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast our food arrived, and I also appreciated that the waitress encouraged me to try two different pizza styles by ordering a half-and -half pie. I had the Lucia and Jerk Chicken pies and both were very good. Nice selection of Texas beers as well. read more

Great service, great beer selection! Loved the atmosphere and how it wasn't crowded, but it was definitely busy and well attended too. Try the vagabond salad! So good! I loved the pizza as well, but can't stop thinking about the dang salad read more

I heard from lots of people that this was the best place for pizza in town. I wish I was able to experience it but unfortunately the owner's attitude prevented that. When arriving at the restaurant I was treated very great by the staff until I asked if my pizza could be cut Chicago style. The wait staff said they don't cut it that way, I said I understand but that's the way I like it, could you ask the cook. I saw the lady go up to the cook and before she could even finish asking I saw the man waving his hands and mouthing absolutely not. When the lady returned she informed me that the cook was the owner and he refused. I could understand if this was an employee but for an owner of a restaurant to have this kind of attitude, I will not do business there. More people need to stand up to this kind of attitude, what happened to "please the customer" not "my restaurant, my way" ? After all is that big of a challenge to cut a pizza in squares? read more

Service was great, if you want more cheese parm flakes, they'll let you have some without charging you extra! The waitress was very nice and attentive to us and the pizza, especially the dough, was very well made and reminded me of my time in Italy. Bathrooms are quite clean and parking is very plentiful. Beautiful ambiance as well with lots of after dinner activities surrounding this location. read more

This place was a whole experience which was great! Our server Meesh (hopefully thats how you spell his name) made our dinner an experience with his fun personality and funny conversations. The Lucia pizza was hyped up by many servers at this restaurant but also other locals in town. It was a great pizza! No tomato sauce on it, beware. The jalapeno jam was sweet which I was not expecting. This restaurant rotates their menus weekly which is fun. They import their ingredients from Italy as well. I tried my friends pizza which had tomato sauce on it and I loved it! Highly recommend that honestly. Ambience was nice and intimate as well. read more

Soooooo good!!! We had the vagabond salad, margarita pizza and my personal favorite the lucy! Great service and atmosphere. Only downside is it gets super busy so you either get lucky and get in or it's a crazy wait time. Hopefully they expand because the pizzas are on point! read more

Vagabond Pizza had charm but didn't quite hit the mark. Our waitress was a delight--warm, attentive, and the highlight of the visit. The pizza, though, didn't live up to the vibe. Not terrible, but not memorable either. A friendly face can go a long way, but next time, we'll be chasing flavor elsewhere. read more

This is a simple review. I give this place 10 stars out of 5. I would have never in my life thought an establishment such as this would be found in Abilene. This place is reminiscent of something out of Miami Beach. I sat at the bar since the waiting list for a table was over an hour. I had the best service I have had in Abilene in my 6 months since living here from Florida. Even the Pizza chef was nice along with the Bartender. Both steered me in the correct direction with their recommendations. I will definitely be back. Will definitely sit at the bar again and expect the same great service I had read more

Visiting out of town wanted to try since such great reviews. I will have to say they were not that great. Very little sauce or cheese. We didn't realize that over fire cooked pizza meant burnt. Hubbys pizza was almost all black on a couple of pieces. Could hardly taste the cheese or sauce on either mine or his. Informed the waitress and she just brushed our complaint off. The wine and tea was the best thing in there. We are from out of town so won't worry with returning Hate to leave bad reviews but had to say something here read more

Food was absolutely amazing! I loved every thing I ate. I definitely recommend their bread and butter on the starters menu. Just want to say I'm giving this 2 stars based solely on our waiter. Man, he was rude, slow, and overall we felt like just an inconvenience to him. To take our order he just came to our table and said "talk to me." We give the order and it's "alright". After we gave the drink order he didn't ask if we wanted to put in an appetizer (just walked away without saying anything.) super unfriendly behavior all night. It wasn't just being blunt or straightforward (which is fine) -- it was just a hostile and rude atmosphere around him. He hands me the bill without even saying a word and walks away. No "thanks for coming in" or "have a good night!" Like how are you the employee and I'm trying way harder than you to be friendly. Very disappointing because the lady with the iPad who sat us to our table was incredibly nice and professional. Food was delicious. Sadly waiter ruined the night for us. Might return if I see an update from management on this. I'm never "that guy" about these type of things but man you were rude to me and my family. I hope I'm never served by you again. read more

This place is definitely a must try. Their customer service was awesome off the bat. Walked in to the restaurant and automatically greeted by the host. The wait was going to be an hour so we were going to just order takeout, but a few minutes later, seats opened up at the bar. The bartender did a great job and just gave us that welcoming feeling. I ordered a margherita pizza and it was amazing. Thank you Vagabond employees for being so friendly during my first time visit. read more

Loved it! We're visiting Abilene for an RV rally and we popped into Vagabond after visiting the nearby Frontier Texas museum. We ordered beers, then shared a Vagabond Salad. The salad was good. I ordered the Sofia pizza and asked them to add mushrooms. My wife ordered the Vitalia pizza. They brought me some fresh ground red pepper and some fresh coarsely grated Parmesan cheese for my pizza. Wow - both pizzas were great and the fresh Parmesan added flavor and saltiness. We'll be back! read more

Excellent pizza, service and ambience! The deserts are tasty too! Abilene has a good one here.

This place has a wood fire oven and they really know how to bake great bread and pizzas. You just need to be very specific on how you want your pizza to be prepared. My wife and I like well done, crispy NY style pizza and they can get it there when we are specific. read more

Seating was limited so we sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We had Delicious salads and pizza. The ingredients are all super fresh. They have a selection of beers, and wines by the bottle and a few by the glass. Looking forward to returning for more. read more
