As soon as I walked in the door I was transported from Abilene TX to a boutique ristorante somewhere in Tuscany. The vibes were immaculate from the stunning decor to the chill music, it was giving Sunday afternoon on a Friday at 10:00 am. Chef Alex let me sample the Lemon Basil Chicken Salad which was truly elevated and delicious. (Best I've ever had, by a landslide) so I had to order it on the crescent. I also had the Italiano Panini which was an explosion of flavor! It paired perfectly with the cold pasta salad which effortlessly balances flavors of harissa, black olive, and sweet cherry tomatoes with just enough hint of spice to awaken the senses and make you crave more. Chef Alex does not miss! Believe it or not, the most amazing thing about this place is not the ambiance or the food. What drew me in and will keep me coming back over and over again is the fact that the owners Chef Alex and his wife April have captured the feeling you get when visiting a small family owned restaurant in Italy. What a wonderful little surprise hiding in plain sight! The atmosphere inside is clean, cheerful, and incredibly relaxing. The food was fantastic and it was very well thought out pairings of flavors. The customer service was not only very happy and helpful, but it was wonderful to listen to their banter in the kitchen as they demonstrated clearly they enjoy their craft. Fantastic food! Aperitivo was open two years before I ever tried it. They specialize in charcuterie boards, but they also have a lunch menu, of salads and sandwiches. The Caprese hamburger, which is only featured on Friday and Saturday, is the absolute best hamburger I have had in I don't know how long. Whatever they season this burger with, the taste is out of this world. On my second visit, my nephew and I ordered the club sandwich and the Reubenato. Both sandwiches were excellent. On my third visit, I ordered two of the small charcuterie boards for my wife and I. The charcuterie boards are a little on the pricey side, but they do have quality ingredients. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday there is a lunch special, which is a sandwich and chips for $7.99. The dining room is very laid-back and comfortable and there is soft music playing. You should definitely give Aperitivo a try! read more

What a pleasant surprise finding this place! My wife and I stopped on by for a late lunch and were blown away by the great experience. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the friendly owner and staff of the restaurant. They patiently explained their menu offerings and recommendations to us, giving us great suggestions on what to order. I took the Friday/Saturday special Caprese Burger and my wife taking the small charcuterie board, both were spot on, great food. This is a rare gem for Abilene and will be a regular spot for us as we explore the rest of their menu in the near future. The best part of this experience was seeing how happy my wife was during the whole meal, she was beaming the whole time. Huge recommend from me to come in and enjoy this place as well. read more

You have to try this place! We stopped while traveling on a road trip. The service was friendly and professional. And the food was outstanding! I got the chicken salad sandwich and instead of chips, I opted to bump it up with crudités. It was delicious! The dessert looked excellent as well.... But I passed on that. Stopped in for the amazing club sandwich we saw online. We were happy we did!! The lemon basil chicken salad sandwich was also delicious. I lucked out with dollar mimosas, perfect combo! Its small interior is not an issue when you're enjoying a great meal with wonderful staffing. The owner is ready to ensure you are well taken care of. Love this place. The food is excellent, the atmosphere warm and cozy. The owner has great pride in his selections and will help you with anything you need to know.
