    Glazed & Confused. Yummy!
    Garry H.

Another of Abilene's great food trucks. Tried them on Food Truck Tuesday at Frontier Texas. Glenda had the turkey and cheese which was very good. I had the Big Poppa which was great! Cheese, cream cheese, bacon, and jalapeños on grilled bread. I really liked it but it was a little small for a big guy like me. That's ok. I got 2 sandwiches and everybody was happy! Definitely worth trying next time you see their trucks!

As…read moresoon as I walked in the door I was transported from Abilene TX to a boutique ristorante somewhere in Tuscany. The vibes were immaculate from the stunning decor to the chill music, it was giving Sunday afternoon on a Friday at 10:00 am. Chef Alex let me sample the Lemon Basil Chicken Salad which was truly elevated and delicious. (Best I've ever had, by a landslide) so I had to order it on the crescent. I also had the Italiano Panini which was an explosion of flavor! It paired perfectly with the cold pasta salad which effortlessly balances flavors of harissa, black olive, and sweet cherry tomatoes with just enough hint of spice to awaken the senses and make you crave more. Chef Alex does not miss! Believe it or not, the most amazing thing about this place is not the ambiance or the food. What drew me in and will keep me coming back over and over again is the fact that the owners Chef Alex and his wife April have captured the feeling you get when visiting a small family owned restaurant in Italy. The personal service, charismatic interaction with the chef, and a sense of the passion they bring to every detail of your experience! Especially the food. They are genuine and hard working and deserve all the success in the world!

Unfortunately, the food is consistently undermined by poor customer service and a seemingly indifferent management. Food comes fast...too fast. Entrees sometimes arrive just minutes after the appetizer hits the table, making the meal feel rushed and poorly paced rather than enjoyable. You have to ask for everything, and even simple requests feel like inconveniences to the server. Once the food is delivered, there is little to no follow-up. Eventually, the bill is dropped on the table and the server disappears again. When you eat out, you're paying for more than just the food...you're paying for service and a well-managed dining experience. That's a big part of the value, and it simply isn't offered at Blackhorse. Eating out is already expensive, and it becomes unreasonably so when the service is this consistently lacking. If the service and overall management improved, this place might be worth reconsidering. For now, the decent food alone doesn't justify the experience or the expense.

We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer and the multi-colored chips were served artfully arranged. The salsa was great. My husband perused the salad bar and decided to order that while I had the honey chicken. The food was very good. We both enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Though we didn't order wine or alcoholic drinks, they gave a nice bar and I would consider it for next time. Thank you, Black Horse for a lovely dinner!
