We have been to Potters this summer 2 times and I thought it was time for a review ! We have had great service both times. They ask us what special pizzas we would like on the buffet and it's is up quickly . They have a good selection on the buffet anyways ut it was nice to get just what you want. Everything was fresh with lots of topping choices. No complaints. Wings-3.5 stars. Original was boring and dry. The buffalo and BBQ were pretty good. No complaints. Pizza-2 stars. Sorry, but it was bad. Not really flavorful at all. Really thin on the ingredients. We ordered our favorite which came to the table. It was.....better, but sorry, no go. Granted it is not the best pizza in the world, but it was GOOD pizza and they had a HUGE variety, PLUS they kept FRESH pizzas coming even though it wasn't exceptionally busy!! They had many different salad dressings to choose from...I only wish they had them labeled as I wasn't sure what they were. I couldn't remember the name of this place but I suggested we try the new pizza place on Buffalo Gap Rd. It's reasonable buffet pizza that's better quality than Gatti's and Cici's. Potter's Pizza is an interesting place. I've never seen a restaurant not fit its building more than Potter's Pizza in Abilene does. Not only does there seem to be about 10 times as much seating as necessary, but having a hostess lead you to your table and provide table service at an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet is foreign to me. I can get up and stack plate of pizza to the ceiling on as many plates as I want, but I have to wait for my waitress to come by my table if I want a refill. The food itself was alright, but honestly nothing to write home about. The buffet is a bit pricey for my taste, considering the quality of the pizza and wings. The staff is quick to recommend a new type of pizza and they will male it fresh for you and bring it to your table! My favorite it the best salad bar in town!! While visiting the area we decided to check out Potter's. We went in the evening on 4th of July and there were hardly any customers. The waitress was great, checking in on us as needed and offered Togo cups for all our drinks. The pizza was good and fresh- lots of variety for everyone in our family. The wings were a little old but not bad. The ice cream and dessert pizza were great as well. Overall great experience, I especially like the camera in the arcade area so you can see your children if you're still in the dining area. I give it 5 stars for my first visit. From the moment I walked in, until I left, I liked everyone who worked here! Especially our waitress Jeanette! She's helpful. Informed. And amusing! When I first walked in, I was asked if I was meeting someone there, and I informed the young lady I was. She told me my friend was already waiting for me and pointed out a table where a woman my age was sitting. I laughed and told her unless my friend has gotten taller and changed her hair color and length, I don't think so. She was truly embarrassed but I made lite of it, and we had a good laugh. When my friend arrived, the greeter asked her if she was meeting someone and if either of us was her lunch date. LOL She brought her over and said " I found the right person!" It was amusing. The waitress had already introduced herself to me and when Tammy came over, the waitress came back and greeted her like an old friend. She remembered her after just 2 previous visits! Awesome I think! She recommended the Hawaiin pizza WITHOUT the sauce; and oh my stars!! Fantastic tasting! It was like a wonderfully soft breadstick with ham, bacon and pineapple. I love Jeanette's choice!! She stopped by a few more times and offered refills, and took our dirty plates and trash, and constantly made us laugh. We also danced at the table! Enjoyable! (We were supposed to dance on our way to checkout, but she was busy darn it!). Next time for sure! The manager was friendly. We talked about Jeanette and he said he would try to give her a raise. Wings were hot, fresh and AWESOME blue cheese and ranch were really good. I was almost too full by the time I got to the pizza. I've seen some lower reviews on here and Facebook I'm not sure what they expect? There were a few reviewers I know from my daughter and they complain about everything so I'm not surprised. The pizza tastes like frozen pizza from the grocery store. It's not frozen. You can see them making it all right in front of you. That just makes it even more incredible that they can manage to get that cheap frozen pizza taste into it. It's actually kind of an impressive accomplishment on some weird level. At least it would be if I hadn't had to pay for it. My family has been twice. We went once the week they opened and vowed never to return. Then our son's baseball team scheduled their end-of-season party at Potter's. So we had to go back. I thought, maybe the first week was just so busy and crazy that they weren't showing their best foot. I was wrong. The good: The salad bar is very good. They advertise it as the "freshest and best salad bar in the area." It certainly beats the salad bar at any other pizza place around. So if you want a decent salad while your kids eat bad pizza, then this might be the place. Can't hold a candle to the salad bars at someplace like Jason's, though. The bad: Terrible pizza. Small selection. 4 pizzas does not constitute a buffet, in my opinion. The chicken wings are overcooked and tough. The pasta sauce is watery. The price is way too high for comparable places, and if you, like me, prefer to drink water, you've got no choice; you'll be paying for a fountain drink anyway because it's part of the buffet price.
