3 stars is being nice. If your looking for AYCE, this place is......acceptable, kind of. We went on a Sunday and met the in laws after church. Salad bar-4 stars. I liked it. Everything was fresh with lots of topping choices. No complaints. Wings-3.5 stars. Original was boring and dry. The buffalo and BBQ were pretty good. No complaints. Pizza-2 stars. Sorry, but it was bad. Not really flavorful at all. Really thin on the ingredients. We ordered our favorite which came to the table. It was.....better, but sorry, no go. I'll probably go back for lunch with friends, but fill up on salad and wings. Good luck Potter's.

I love Potter's Pizza! The salad bar has plenty of options, they also have wings on the buffet, and the pizza is great!

Not bad. Spaghetti with marinara sauce was very good. Big selection of pizza (including dessert pizzas) and a nice salad bar.

Although, it's a unique spot that a lot of people enjoy. A crisp, crunchy crust with fresh toppings! I still love their quesadillas! Really happy with their salad portion size and the almonds as an addition to the house salad. Price for the portion size and quality of their pizzas is still out of range in my opinion. I've had a lot of mixed feeling about their food over the years, and usually don't feel inclined to go back. Our waitress brought our check at the beginning of our meal and to go boxes as well, which is proactive of course, but we felt rushed and confused. We never got to even state that our checks were separate, not together. Our appetizer was brought after we received our meal which was stated to be a mishap with a new chef, but we were not asked if we even wanted it at that point. We were also charged the full price instead of the lunch menu price for it as it should've been. Honestly, it would've been honorary to not be charged for it at all under the circumstances. It was just strange. We all have our off days, but it just added to my distaste for Brick Oven. I wish I had a consistently great experience with them! Here's to hoping for better experiences! Maybe it's just not my cup of tea.

We are never disappointed. Highly recommend. By the way, their bread and butter is to die for. Hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The last stop during my Abilene day trip was the wood-fire pizzeria Vagabond. We arrived at…read moreVagabond exactly at 6:00 pm, impressed by their cork decor outside the shop. We were immediately greeted by the server and seated just as quickly. The place was pretty busy, as one would expect on a Saturday at 6 pm, so it was great to be seated right away. The table was already set with two water cups, two plates, two sets of silverware, and two napkins, so we didn't have to set the area ourselves. Our server came shortly after with a large glass bottle of water and took our drink orders. My girlfriend got a bottled Dr. Pepper while I stuck to water. I also noticed they serve plenty of wines as well as a good selection of craft beers. They have ten different specialty pizzas, and we settled on their most expensive: the Carnivore. I say most expensive, but it was $20 for a pizza that fed two. It took about 10-15 minutes before the pizza came out, which is impressively fast. All pizzas are about 12 inches and are sliced into sixes. If you're hungry, consider an appetizer or a dessert, but to us, it was a perfect size with plenty of meat. The crust is thin and crispy, as one would expect from a wood-fire pizza. It was really excellent. For dessert, my girlfriend and I ordered their Saturday Morning Cartoons, which is a panna cotta with Fruity Pebbles that I enjoyed but she adored (I let her eat most of it). All in all, the meal was around $30 plus the tip I added. We were in and out in under 40 minutes, which was quite impressive for a sit-down pizza restaurant. I highly recommend this to anyone living in or visiting Abilene. P.S. My girlfriend wanted my Yelp review to note that their women's bathroom has hair ties, bobby pins, a Tide pen, and other items that you never know you'll need until you do, which gives Vagabond extra brownie points for going above and beyond. RIYL: An affordable meal for two.

Stopped in today for lunch and it was phenomenal. Kim was our waitress and she answered all our…read morequestions and was very attentive. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and ended up asking that she leave the bowl so we could dip into the cheese that it came in. I ordered the baked pasta sampler (lasagna, baked ziti, manicotti) and my husband got the Stromboli. They were both delicious! Sorry no pictures, (phones put away while eating). I got a house salad with my plate, but didn't care for it. It was basically a bowl full of lettuce (2 small cubes of tomato and 2 slivers of purple onion). Would love to come back and try another dish. The restaurant was clean (a little dark) and so were the restrooms.

I'll start with the bad, then finish with the good. Short…read morestory? I'll be back. But... Luigi's Little Italy needs to up their game on fried appetizers. Being our first visit, we tried to sampler so that we could experience 3 of the apps at once. The calamari, mozzarella sticks and "toasted" ravioli all seemed to be fried in the same batter, and the same oil. I would question the quality of the items even before frying.... and the frying didn't help their cause. I ate one bland, not-so-fresh tasting calamari ring, one bite of a mozzarella stick and one bite of the ravioli. The rest of the appetizer went home to the dog. I mean, this place is dated, and this I knew before eating. Which is fine--I think many of us have a need to experience the nostalgia of the Italian restaurants of yesteryear. Rubber grapes hanging from the ceilings, painted images of Italy on the wall. Unchanged from when I was a teenager in Western NY and we would go out for Italian; the decor and menu seem to be the same. But the quality of ingredients needs to be current. We have come to expect better! A lot of Italian places are doing more creative things, with better calamari. Appetizers such as burrata and carpaccio are present on modern Italian menu's. If you are going to stick with the old stuff, it needs to be GREAT. Okay, enough of the negativity. The Chicken Florentine ordered by my companion was very good. The sauce was nice, flavorful, and not too heavy (although perhaps too generous but that's going back to the dated thing). I have a sampler of stuffed pastas, and the red sauce was very much to my liking. A touch of sweet, not too acidic, just the way I like sauce to be. They have a decent wine selection. I didn't try the desserts. I'm quite a cannoli purist...and I hate to be disappointed, so I didn't risk it. Overall--we'll be back. We'll be back for the friendly and consistent service, the generally good food (skip the fried stuff), and the kitschy ambience.
