Just not a good experience. Here's my honest review: Flavorless crappy pizza with barely any cheese (see picture) Large slices Restaurant tables were dirty, I bussed our table myself Asked for a box twice*, employee forgot first time and after waiting 10 minutes, I got up and asked him again Overpriced for the quality that you get (bad quality) We gave them a try and it was a "one and done". Very disappointing. Wasted $18+ on four pieces plus two sodas. * Brought two of four pieces home, nobody wanted them after seeing them, threw both leftover pieces away. Total waste of money.

This is the slice I got for lunch today, it's always so big and delicious.

I order a slice once a week with extra cheese, it the best pizza in Wake Forest, NC, the crust is always crunchy and thin. I am from New Jersey and this pizza reminds me of home. The owner is very polite. Thank you.

So I have never been to New York but after dinner at Schiano's, out of Wake Forest, NC I feel there is no need to make the trip just for a slice of pizza. The other night I picked up a pie topped with Pepperoni, Sausages, and Bacon and it was hands down absolutely superb. From the perfectly cooked handmade dough that provided an unbelievable crunch in everybite, to the delicious sauce which had unique yet amazing flavors that aroused my pallet, it took me on a trip to pizza paradise. The pie had the perfect amount of cheese on it, just enough to get that cheese flavor, but not overpowering to take away from the other pizza flavors. When you put it all together you get a perfect pizza, one that I highly recommend. Besides the amazing food, what I enjoyed was the service. Working the front counter was the sweetest lady, who I think would come straight from Italy. As soon as I walked in she gave me such a warm greeting and I immediately felt like family. What I find trying amazing was how much the pizzaiolo (one who makes the pizza) takes pride in his work. While waiting in line for my order the pizzaiolo came out with an order for a younger guy. He handed him his order and told the guy not to stack the bag on top of the pizza. He quickly gave him a pondering look and said "ok why". He told him that it would put to much pressure on the top and force the top of the pizza box down and cause the cheese to stick to top of the lid. That right there shows a true passion for what they create. You can tell they really want every customer to have an amazing experience.

    Now THAT'S a a slice!

Shannon was humorous, kind and explained the menu very thoroughly so that we understood. In addition, he asked us what brought us to Amalia's and catered to our occasion. While we were in town for a wedding, we also were celebrating some home wins as well which Shannon took note of and gave us complimentary drinks at the end of our evening which was so kind. We started our evening off with some NA mocktails made in house which resembled a mojito. There were fresh strawberries and a lime wedge on top of the cup. I appreciated that this drink wasn't overly sugary and was the perfect blend of refreshing we needed especially after a flight. From there, we got complimentary house bread which was outstanding as it contained oil and onions baked in. Delicious! Shannon explained the menu was tapas style or small plate. We lead with the zucchini appetizer which had pistachios on top and were given suggestions on how to eat it. We went with the sushi method and ended up rolling the thinly sliced zucchini with a fork and it was perfect!! A very fun experience and such a unique menu option. For our main dishes, my husband has the steak and mashed potato special while I had the truffle cavatelli with sausage. Both items were out of this word and the perfect portion size. Shannon knew we loved the bread and brought us more to our table even though I'm fairly certain that is supposed to be for the beginning of the coursing. While our bellies were too stuffed for dessert right then and there, we did get cannolis to go and they are currently up in our fridge. We look forward to trying! We were able to see the other patrons order dinner in house and the entire layout is a production. If you have the chance and room for dessert, I highly recommend because the staff prepares it for you at your table. In addition, there are lovely coffee pairings with each dessert as an option as well. **Note: Amalia's does not carry red sauce. Many of the pastas are white sauce by design. This was not a deal breaker for us but it might be for someone else. Thank you, Amalia's! You were exactly the Italian cuisine we craved!

I ordered the Milton's Special pizza and it was fine. Nothing to rave about but nothing to want to come back to, either. My friend ordered a pizza as well. It's nice that they have GF options. She wasn't too impressed with her choice, either. It tasted like it could have come from the freezer at the grocery store, it was very generic in flavor. Our server, Nino, came to our table within minutes of our seating. We weren't sure which red wine selection we are going to go with. He recommended a medium priced bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.
