I bless the day I found Robert Docksteader, owner of Scherdiva Salon in Williston. I receive more compliments then ever and am the happiest I've ever been with my hair. Robert listens, really listens to what the client wants and really, really gets it! Gone are the days of a stylist telling me what I want is wrong. This is only the second time in my entire life that I trust a stylist as much as I trust Robert. I even took my son to him and he loves his hair. Not easy for my teenager. And the Salon setting is fabulous. I feel my time is respected. I drive almost an hour to get to Scherdiva Salon and its worth it. I was also introduced to Paul Mitchell products sold at Scherdiva Salon and I've paid over three times as much for other lines of products that don't work as well as the ones sold at Scherdiva Salon. Not only that, I was the recent winner of a raffle Robert organized to raise money for World Aids Day and got a fabulous gift basket of Paul Mitchell products. There was even a product in the gift basket for my dog. Everything about Scherdiva Salon is fabulous, fun, relaxing and I walk out knowing I'm looking my best with realistic advice to continue my "look" at home. read more

If you are looking for a salon, this is the one you MUST go to. Kristin gave me a highlight, root touch-up, and a drastic haircut (below shoulders before and now it's chin length). Anyway, she was amazing!!! She changed my highlight color, and I LOVE it (my hair always picks up reds/oranges, and she gave me truly blonde highlights without the brassiness). Plus my haircut is fabulous. I was worried that my husband wouldn't like me cutting off my long hair, but he hasn't been able to keep his hands off of me since I cut it. He keeps raving about how cute it is and how much younger I look...and typically he doesn't notice anything, so it's a big deal to hear him go on and on about my hair. On top of being an excellent hair stylist, Kristin is just a pleasant person to be around (as well as the rest of the staff at Scherdiva). I was in there for 3 1/2 hours, and to me it felt like I was hardly there any time at all. They are just a great group of people. I was referred to Robert six years ago by a friend after I confessed to her that I was visiting a different Burlington area salon each time I needed a cut (with varying results). From the first cut, I was hooked. Robert is absolutely fantastic. He puts the client first and always takes care to ensure that I'm 110% satisfied with my experience. He's diligent, skilled, and a true artist. He generously sponsored me during my year as Miss Vermont 2011 and went above and beyond to make sure I was prepared for every appearance and for Miss America. Last week, I needed a last minute cut and scheduled with Kristen, another artist at Scherdiva. I was nervous to work with a different stylist, but Kristen was amazing as well! I can not recommend my stylist Sarah enough. She is absolutely fantastic. I want my hair stylist to know what's going to work with my face and hair as well as give a great cut, Sarah does both. I go in with a vague sense of what I'm looking for, she nods, asks me a couple questions about and goes for it. I have never been disappointed. She gets to know her clients well and works to fit their needs. I'm sure if I went in with a picture and specifics she'd be amazing, but I love Sarah for her ability to turn my vague idea (and likely terrible descriptions of what I want) into a cool and very flattering hair style every time. I currently have a cute short cut with subtle purple streaks throughout and I get compliments all the time. :) Go see Sarah! read more

I went to Scherdiva Salon after hearing about it on facebook. I'm always looking for something new and exciting and this is definitely the place. From the moment you walk in the door you know that you are someplace special. The Salon is immaculate and you are greeted with a smile at the very beginning. My stylist Robert was very professional and took the time to explain which color highlights would look best and was patient while I made a decision. He even took the time to answer questions I had about different styling products. I especially loved the feeling of being an individual and not just a number. I signed up for Yelp just so I could give a review for Robert. I originally had been going to Jason who was also fabulous but unfortunately moved to Florida so it had been about six months since I had my hair cut. :( He suggested I try Robert so I did. I had my first haircut with him last week and I am so happy with the results. He made my hair go from dry looking and BLAH to fresh, healthy, bouncy, and beautiful. No joke. I have had my hair cut twice by Robert Dockstader (owner) - and both have come out absolutely amazing!! The first cut, my hair had grown to waist length, and Robert cut it just below my shoulders, and added some soft layering, as well as side-swept bangs. The result was amazing! I loved the shorter style, and received numorous compliments on it. The second cut was a few months later, and I went in looking for a choppier, more rocked out style. He cut a few inches off, then worked his magic once again, drying and flat-ironing my hair before fine-tuning the layers. The look he created for me was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Trusting your hair to a new stylist is very scary. I first saw Robert in December of 2014. I've been a loyal client since. My hair was too dark with noticeably differing bands of color (from different products, stylist and home touch ups.) I had been told by other stylists that it would be an all-day, expensive process with no guaranteed result. Robert corrected my color and lightened the shade in one normal appointment. He has a wealth of knowledge in products and processes and goes out of his way to address your hair issues and needs. You can't go wrong with a color and cut with Robert at SherDiva. I highly recommend Robert at Scherdiva Salon. He does a fantastic job at listening to what I want and translating it into the perfect hair cut. He also loves to style hair after cutting so you always leave looking like a movie star! I originally found Robert at Indigo in downtown Burlington and then followed him when he opened his own salon in Williston. I am use to the same hair dresser for 20 yrs and recently moved to Vermont and I am thrilled to have found Robert! I went to Robert to have my hair styled for my wedding. I have "special needs hair" and had a very specific style in mind.
