What I am most impressed with is her exceptional communication skills, which I guess would more appropriately be termed telepathy because I don't know hair words. I am stupid about esthetics, period. But from my poorly strung together sentences she was able to intuit what I wanted. And all along she responded to my odd chatter as if it was totally normal (not a small feat). The atmosphere of the salon is relaxing and very well kept. The retail space is well curated and enjoyable, and she brings in products she truly believes in and wears herself. The in house café is also a lovely addition and is equally well curated. Location is easily accessible and there's almost always parking right out front. Pricing is transparent and reasonable. The team-style business model means you're never being pushed into a service for a higher commission rather than your benefit, and everyone on the team is on the same page (no competing for clients, etc). Every visit, I feel well taken care of from the moment I walk in to the moment I leave, and fully trust all of the stylists to act in my best interest. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

When she asked what I think of the cut, I said "it's ok, just a bit shorter than I thought?" - that made her into rage, saying "Do you want me to pick up hair on the floor and glue them back?!?!" - It was over a decade ago, but according to other reviewers, this has not been changed. Verbally abusive is right. I just cannot imagine any hair stylist would say something like her. I would not recommend. Because one day, it may be your turn to get her rage on you. However, about ten minutes after I left the salon my brows continued stinging. I looked Into a mirror and saw that my eyebrows were completely burned. You can see the injuries in the photos, but my skin was burned from the wax. I called to ask for a refund, but I was asked to come all the way back to the salon so they could examine the eyebrows for themselves. They were very defensive when I mentioned my burns, and they did not offer me an apology. As I couldn't come back to the salon afterwards, I did not get a refund either. My first time here was as a walk in with no idea of the type of cut that I wanted. I gave Lynette a few basic guidelines and she did the rest. She created a style that works for me and even though I live outside of VT now, I make it a priority to get my hair cut when I'm here. Lynette is kind, attentive, and engaging. Even though I only get my hair cut a couple of times a year she always remembers who I am and the conversations we've had. I highly recommend Lynette!!

Laura is very flexible and is always willing to give me a new refreshingly modern hairstyle. She is lovely to talk with and accommodating in every way. For example, if I encounter a scheduling conflict, she makes a point of making sure I am happy with to new time and date. She once brought my I pad (which I forgot at the salon) to the bowling alley where I was league bowling. I really cannot imagine having another hairdresser. In fact, Laura recently started cutting my husband's hair. My husband jokes that Laura needs "a finders fee" to cut his hair. However, his hair looks better than ever.

I almost never leave negative reviews, and when I do, there's usually a good reason. But this…read moreexperience was so unusual that I almost have to admire its creativity. Two weeks after my hair-cut appointment, I received a phone call informing me that we were "not a good fit." For a moment, I thought perhaps my hair had filed a complaint without telling me. I calmly asked why--not to argue or change anyone's mind, but simply to understand so I could learn something for future appointments. The answer? Still, "We're not a good fit." Apparently my assignment was to solve this mystery with no clues...and no stylist's notes. What made this especially disappointing was that this wasn't just a routine color appointment. We had spent considerable time discussing what I believed would be a long-term transition plan to gradually blend my colored hair into my natural gray using lower-chemical products. My understanding was that it would be a careful process that could take a year or two, with appointments lasting hours along the way. I left excited to begin that journey. So the unexpected phone call two weeks later was genuinely shocking. Looking back, perhaps we truly weren't "a good fit." That's perfectly okay. I wasn't looking for a friendship--I was looking for an experienced colorist who could guide me through this transition. If she had simply said, "I don't think I'm the right person for this project," I would have completely respected that. I just wish she had communicated more clearly and specifically and reminded me of the transition plan we had discussed so I could continue my search intelligently with another colorist. Instead, I was left wondering if my hair had committed a crime while I wasn't looking. One star for communication. Five stars for creating the only salon experience where I left needing a detective instead of a conditioner.
