I struggled with a car issue for literally months, was cruising by Schembri's to an appointment and pulled in. Joe took my car in and found the problem almost immediately. I asked him to go ahead and check my transmission to see if it needed flushed while he was working on it. This is what won me over... He could've went ahead and did the trainy flush and charged me, but he was honest and called me back and told me to wait, don't spend the money, my fluid was fine. He fixed my fuel pump and went ahead and replaced my fuel filter too. My mechanic of many years retired so Schembri's it is from now on! read more

As a repeat Customer I can't say enough about the excellent service at Schembri's Quality Auto. Always with courtesy, honestly, and quick turn around. This morning had a little more needed service on my Vehicle and as soon as I was there for opening in less then a few hours i was out the door. As a former A.S.E. Mechanic, and Painter I go to Schembri's and know my Vehicle will be taken care of the right way. Not very impressed with this company, We have a family friend who has been put through the ringer by this company, Numerous misdiagnosis which led to hundreds of dollars worth of wasted time and parts. I've been using Schembri's for a few years now and they've always been pretty solid guys. They've never tried to over-sell me and their work has always been good. I'm not sure what happened with Ben D. but that doesn't sound like George and Jason at all. For example: I had my VW in for an insurance estimate after someone broke into my car. While it was there someone took my amp and tried to get the subwoofer, they covered the cost of my amp. I've recommended friends to Schembri's and I take my vehicles to them for oil changes and any work that I'm not up to doing myself. read more

Don't trust a word these guys say. George and Jason will treat you with respect up front, but once you have given them your money, you will soon see the thugs and con-artists that they really are. They convinced me to buy their parts, after telling me that there would be no warranty on the work being done if I provided my own parts. Then Jason went on to say that there is a 90-day, "no questions asked" warranty as long as I buy the parts from them. He went on to say "even if there's a screw lose, just bring the car in anytime within that 90-days, and we will fix it for you at no charge." At that moment, I thought that there better not be a screw lose after I paid $400 for you to put in a new timing belt and water pump, but I didn't say anything out loud. I was trusting them to do a lot more than just tighten screws(i.e. remove parts to get to and replace my timing belt and water-pump, and then put all parts back securely and precisely where they go.) So if they aren't going to take the precautions and time to make sure to tighten all screws involved, what else will be neglected? Obviously I was very concerned, but realized that time was wasting and I would not be able to take off from work another day if I did not get it fixed. This was the reason that I could not use my regular mechanic, as he had advised me that he would not have time to do the 6-hour job until Friday. My regular mechanic who is also my neighbor, is the one who diagnosed the problem with the water pump the nights before and told me that I needed a new water-pump and timing belt. Regretfully, due to not being able to take any additional time off, I decided to go ahead and let these guys do the job for me since my neighbor had already diagnosed what the problem was, and this auto-shop agreed that the diagnosis was correct and that was the only problem. They did complete the job that day as they promised and called me at closing time to pick up my car. So I got a ride to the shop and drove my car directly back home which is about half a mile down the road. As I drive into my driveway, my neighbor was outside and we looked under the car like we had done several times on the previous days to observe the water or fluid leak, and was happy to see that the water pump was not leaking anymore. However, we were confused by why the exhaust pipe and muffler was now hanging and making noise. My neighbor (the mechanic) suggested that they perhaps forgot to put the clips back on to hold the pipe close to the under-belly of the car and prevent it from hanging. So I called in the next day when they were open and found out that their operation hours were identical to my work schedule, making it impossible for me to make it in anytime soon. At that point I told George over the phone that I will try to make arrangements over the next few weeks to get there somehow so they could fix it. I asked if I would have to make an appointment, and he said "that would not be necessary, just come in whenever you can." It took me 5 weeks to earn a half day off from work so that I could go back to the shop on Saturday 4/9/11, only to be told by George as I arrived that "we close in a hour and a half, and I'm leaving at 3pm." So I explain that I had been speaking with him over the phone several times throughout the past month about trying to get off work at least for half a day in order to bring my car in during his shop hours. Right away I knew I was in trouble, this guy's whole demeanor has changed and now that he has already got my money, I am at his mercy. Little did I know an hour later that they would pull me in the back where my car was on the lift and try to tell me that I hit a speed bump, and that's what caused the damage. As I start to state that I drove straight home with no speed bumps on the way, Jason starts mocking me with a condescending grin on his face. Then George comes over and starts in saying do you see this rust spot, that's where you hit the speed bump. The one-inch in diameter spot he was pointing at was in the center of a bar that was even height from the ground all the way across, spanning from the driver' side to the passenger' side of the bottom of the car. The problem with the speed bump theory, is it would have scraped the entire length of the bar, rather than just one small spot in the middle. Looking at all of the metal and concrete objects scattered around this shop under lifted vehicles, I mentioned that it would make more sense that the car was lowered while on the lift before removing one of these metal or concrete objects that would be able to recreate the damage done to the under workings of the vehicle, where there is no way a speed-bump could recreate this spot. Jason's next move was to bow up and get in my face like he wanted to fight, after I kept stating the answers to the same 2 questions he kept asking me. (Q)-Why didn't you call. (A)- I did) & (Q)-Hasn't it been 90-days? (A)- No, it's been 35-days. read more
