Bait and switch sleazy car dealer. Five days later, this car with a blown transmission, is still on the web.
    Kelly Ann M.

Classic Sleazy car salesmen. Don't buy a car from this dealer or their branch in New Britain. Classic bait and switch - I called about availability of a specific car I wanted to test drive. Because there was only a stock photo I asked the guy who answered the phone some questions about the car. He put me on hold and when he return he said "yes, I just checked the car, it has...(what I asked about)" I called back shortly after to make the test drive appointment for the same day. I called again when I was running late. They confirmed the car I was coming to drive and said "no problem. We'll have it waiting for you outside". When I got there the general sales manager greets me and took me inside. Introduced me to the guy who would take me for a ride. We get to a table to sign me in and suddenly the manager realizes "oh! That car JUST sold. They're signing the paperwork now." I could read him and immediately knew what was up. Blah blah blah... long story short. LIES. I asked to see the car. Suddenly he needs clarity on the car I made an appointment to see - after speaking with THREE people about that car. I tell him AGAIN. And he remembers that car has a blown transmission. Then, he wants to show me other cars. NO. I wouldn't buy a car from this dealer if it was $1. The car with the blown transmission is still on their website - FIVE days later. I would not trust a car from them. New or used. How they do one thing, they do all things.

I bought my car here in 2017, so ive been bringing it back here for every oil change. I will no longer bring my business here again. The last time i brought my car for an oil change here i waited over 2 hours for it to be done, for something that should take about 30-45 mins. Because of this, when it was time for my next oil change i brought my car to another garage to get the oil changed. It took these mechanics around an hour to get the drain plug out because Schaller screwed it in so ridiculously tight. The mechanics ended up having to go through great lengths to remove the plug. As a result i ended up having to get a new drain plug for it because they had to ruin the plug in order to get it out.

Told service coordinator no oil change was needed, For some reason technicians removed oil filter and overfilled engine with oil

Paid $700 on 1/9/2021 for 60,000 mile service that was not done! This service department scams people! They charge you for service that they do not do - SUPER UNSAFE!!!!!!!!!! They park your car and tell you service was completed when you drive away - They charged me $700 for 60k service, when I got my car back I noticed that fluids were not topped off - Looking under the car, the plugs required to check/change the diff fluid were corroded, they had never been removed - they still had the gaskets from the factory installed. Looking at my tires I realized that I had not given the service shop my lug key - There was still grime on the lug nuts and it was clear that they had not been removed for tire rotation, break bleeding, inspection of rotors/breaks/calipers etc. Looking around the engine bay, nothing had disturbed the grime that has accumulated over the winter - These guys are legitimately unsafe - They prey on people not checking their work - This service department is unacceptable and should be investigated. I doubt I am the only person they have done this to - These types of things endanger drivers and this negligence could have led to me getting injured or my car failing pre-maturely. This place is negligent, this place is not safe, this place does not care for its customers - Watch out - I will be filing a claim with the BBB and Subaru of America

How about cleaning that stubborn adhesive off the wheels before delivering a new vehicle?
    Lee Z.

Ad hoc operation When my new Subaru arrived at Schaller in Berlin, I was told it would be ready for pickup 3 days later. The first impression is the inspection, and the prep work was amateur at best. It's not clear what they did for 3 days. There was dried wax on the mirrors and hood, and even on the interior leather. The windows were clouded with swirl marks. The chrome wheels had generous amounts of sticky adhesive residue. The salesman seemed not at all concerned, as these were minor details easily overlooked. Then I had to sit through the video presentations for added services offered, which I clearly stated I had no interest in. But "it's mandatory", my salesman informed. Next was a tutorial on the vehicle's features and operation. Since I had already done my homework online before even walking in the door, this was another waste of time; not to mention my salesman provided inaccurate information since he was confused about the trim level I purchased. As you can imagine, when it comes to having my car serviced, I drive well out of my way to another dealership, since the management here is clearly asleep at the wheel or just focused on sales.

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! My leather was conditioned not that long ago... Thanks a lot Schaller!

I was able to have a tow truck drop my car off in the parking lot but with a lot of difficulty. This dealership blocked the majority of their entrances/exits with cars. I understand this may be to prevent vehicles from being stolen, but this is a dealership with after hour drop offs and a key drop box. How do they expect that to work if they physically block cars from entering? I was charged about $450 dollars to replace the one tire and fix the alignment. This was after a "20% discount" (they took off $25). When I picked up my car, I had to wait quite a while just to ask someone what happened to the tire. I got a rushed generic response and was brushed aside. Every other Acura dealership I've gone to offers free washes. When I found my car outside, it was dirtier than when I had dropped it off. It's a small thing, but if I'm paying for a luxury vehicle and spend hundreds of dollars at this dealership for a flat tire, I expect to not drive away with my car covered in bird shit.

I should have researched dealerships, because I'm reading a lot of reviews that match my experience today. Instead of treating me like the potential buyer I was, and trying to show a reasonable level of customer service, he immediately indicated that he wasn't going to spend "3 hours" with me if I wasn't ready to buy. That they "need to keep the miles low" on the car I was interested in (i.e.-you're not getting a test drive). He referenced the $50k+ price multiple times, suggesting I hadn't even looked at the MSRP or considered what I can afford. He walked away "for a few minutes" while I looked around the car. I stood there waiting for him to return. He was super busy chatting with his colleague, walking through the showroom to step outside and check the weather, then staring at his computer in his office. After 10-15 minutes, I left. No card, no attempt to get contact information. I guess I should have lied when I set expectations early that I wasn't buying that day. I was also courteous enough to show up in the middle of a weekday afternoon (the place was empty), but Jim didn't want to put forth any effort that might not pan out, at the risk (now, a certainty) that he doesn't get a sale. I would have returned and sought another salesperson, but reviews indicates he's not the only problem there. There are plenty of other Acura dealers. Research them and I think you'll end up going elsewhere.

Step one would be to go to a review of another dealer I wanted to go to (Wayland Automotive Services, Wayland, MA.)so you can read it FIRST, that way you will know how I got here to Action Automotive!! They were double icky. Chris @ Action is worth the visit. So if you read what I wrote, here is my visit worked out with Chris at Action Automotive. is the rating because that is the most amount of stars that I can choose! We (Rebecca & I) live near Albany NY and wanted a good used vehicle to use as primary transportation year round. Action Automotive was 130 miles each way. Our motorcycles are not good in the snow, neither is her dream car we also bought used (another story) 2008 Vette (triple black rag top) And our Ram is our Mule( 2016 reg. cab,1500, 2wd). Action had a PT Cruiser we were interested in (2008 Base model wagon). It's job would be all short errands, rain and snow also. I was suppose to have been hit in the left rear corner 4 times - that turned out wrong! Chris described the damage over the phone, and if I got there and it was not at described I would turn around and head back home. I drove to his place of business with our Ram, and our 16 foot steel deck trailer. It was not as described, it was actually much better than I thought. I got there a bit late, missed a turn or two but he waited for me. He new I was coming as he fed me the directions I needed. As a result he was stuck at work waiting, He had paper work ready, we talked a bit handed over the money loaded it up (I did not want to keep him there so I skipped a road test - just the 15 feet or so onto the trailer and headed home. Was given a warranty also, but we had a conversation about the 260 mile round trip if it needed any thing. I told him I would most likely fix it myself (I'm an auto tech since 1968 (yeah I'm old - but a hand shake kind of guy-and Chris seemed like one also. Once home I went thru it, called him, made a few repairs that I wanted to do, and needed a repair that was needed, We talked over emails about it, and it was handled via mail. The wife and I LOVE this little car, it just fits like a glove! maybe that is why Chrysler sold 1.3 million of them, in just 10 years of production. If you are near Action Automotive, in Berlin CT make them a stop for service and/or a car-truck, If you do not live close (I don't) they are still worth a stop. actual rating 10 out of 10 Jerry & Rebecca Horn, just north of Albany NY

I will have to say the rest of this review is true, their sales dept continues to not be helpful. Even when I came in because the info screen went totally black, the sales guy didn't seem to care and only asked why I bought the truck at another dealer? I know he's not in the service dept, but he didn't even listen to my concerns, only asked if I would come back to buy another new vehicle. This was the Sales Manager too from what he said. Original review: Not knowledgeable at all with trucks. I wasted over two hours there with a sales rep, and I knew way more about the stats of the F150's than he did. I am being honest here, and it may be brutal, however he didn't know simple words such as axle ratio. He was showing me the grid of axle choices and said I should go home and study it. I do use this dealership for my emissions, and have had no problems, they are quick and polite - however I would never buy a new truck from them. I can't speak for other sales reps - only from what I went through. I am happy we went with a different CT Ford dealer, they were extremely knowledgeable about the F150 lineup. I came in genuinely prepared to purchase a Honda Odyssey and potentially spend close to $50,000 that day. Instead, the entire interaction became increasingly uncomfortable and unprofessional. 1. During the test drive, James repeatedly criticized minivans, saying they looked stupid and even suggesting that women don't want to drive them -- while I was actively considering buying one. It was an odd way to speak to a prospective customer, but I let it go. 2. More disturbing was a story he told me about a previous customer. He referred to the woman as a "FAT DUMB CUNT", mocked her weight and eating habits, and then said he had wanted to "shoot her in the face." Hearing a salesperson talk about a former customer that way -- particularly making a violent statement like that -- was genuinely alarming and completely inappropriate. 3. When we finally discussed numbers, the proposal included several fees, which I understand can be part of the process. However, the trade-in offer for my Ford Maverick was roughly $2,000 below what I believed to be its reasonable market value. Rather than simply explaining or negotiating the valuation, James proceeded to criticize my vehicle as well and that was the excuse for the piss poor evaluation. He then proceeded to say that he used to throw rocks at people from my town. Yes you read that right! 4. I told him I wanted to get in the $700s to 800s. He came back with a list of all this scammy stuff and showed me a 1200 a month payment LMAO what a joke. SCAMMER There were numerous other strange and inappropriate comments throughout the interaction. His overall demeanor also concerned me, and there was a strong smell of cigarettes and he looked hungover or drunk. What makes this especially unfortunate is that the other employees I encountered seemed pleasant and professional. I'm not trying to disparage the entire dealership based on one salesperson, but James was an extremely poor representation of the business. I arrived ready to make a major purchase. After this experience, there was absolutely no chance I was buying a vehicle from him.
