Disappointed by Miscommunication and Billing Issues I was told in advance that the restaurant could split the bill across up to six credit cards, but upon arrival, the waiter said only three were allowed. I asked him to double-check, and he said he would--but never followed up. At the end of the meal, he ran everything on one check without consulting me, which created confusion for our group. When I questioned him, he claimed that whoever gave me the original info denied saying it, referring vaguely to a "lady or man," which made it clear he hadn't actually checked. On top of that, several menu prices didn't match what was charged, and he blamed it on the system--another excuse that didn't sit right. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and while I understand busy nights happen, the lack of communication and accountability was frustrating. If you choose to dine here, I strongly recommend double-checking your bill before paying. read more

My 1st time here,I gave it a 5 star for the location and parking. Also the venue was really pretty,we celebrated 2 retirees had a great room. Staff was on point, they were very attentive made sure guest received the appetizers and drinks. DJ Anthony played great music, photo booth was a hit. Food was okay, it could have been better. Beautiful Beautiful place. I came here to see the location for my potential wedding venue. I fell in LOVE. It's such a beautiful location and I reallllly wanted to book my wedding their. They have two rooms. One is really small and supposedly holds up to 75 but its seems truly too tiny for that. The large room holds up to 200 people. It's truly BEAUTIFUL. Our intentions were to book the smaller room until I seen how beautiful the large room was, I wanted it immediately. It requires a minimum of 100 people. A woman showed us around. A gentlemen sat us down a d gave us the prices ppl and details. Overall this place isnt badly priced especially with all the options that are included. The all inclusive wedding package comes with ALOT of food. Its amazing!!!!!!!!! I would recommend this place. The planners and organizers seem like they are alot of help and the main guy was REALLY nice and insightful. I love this place and hope to have my wedding here one day. read more

THREE STAR situations... Understanding that the country is short staffed with regards to service workers I was really hoping for a better experience. I want to give 3 stars but am feeling like some stuff is just not under the staff's control so I gave 4. The review is more for insight on things that can be worked on. I arrived with a cake and I think the manager (not sure) Gracie took it from me at the door. No communication was brought to the attention of our server so while we were assuming it would come out we sat, after dinner for 30 mins waiting for it to be brought to the table Finally we mentioned it to our server who had no idea a cake existed. We had candles along with the cake so grandma (96) could blow them out. Instead, large club like sparklers were used and grandma just watched them fizzle out. Someone should have asked if we wanted the switch. Also, yes there is a note on the table that says "food takes time to arrive at the table" 50 mins is extreme. Also "who ordered what meal" needs to be kept on a note after the orders are taken. We didn't play musical chairs so how people got others meals placed in front of them was nonsensical and added more time of several people at the table. You guys need dinner tea (not lipton). If you have any handicap guests who need to use the restroom be aware that they will have to move up and down stairs to use it. That's definitely something that needs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE SAUTÉED SPINACH!!!! I almost choked on it. It's hard to chew swallow, cut, separate or digest. The biggest positive was the politeness of the staff and that the restaurant has its own parking lot. read more

They serve salad right along with the entree where we were waiting for our food we should have been eating that salad!!!!! The food itself there is not much to say other than that it's totally outstanding! Been here 3 times over the last 2 months and every dish has been off the charts. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell when it comes to the table. Now let's talk about the service. Between Carlos and Luis there is no competition. The service is phenomenal- so attentive. Paul especially was on top of everything. I dropped a utensil, I was about to ask for some when he was going to return but as soon as he heard it clatter he rushed over! The food was delicious, my steak was cooked wrong but as Paul asked how the food is he offered another steak, cooked just how I liked it. My father has been here so many times over the past years. He's had big groups here. 6 of us went for my mothers bday last weekend. We were the only people there when we arrived at 1pm. The place is a throwback to the 70's--not my thing but whatever. We went solely bc my father received a $200 gift card from his coworker--because his coworker knows he goes there often. We advised them during appetizers that we had a gift card. So we give them the card and the waitress says, where is the paper with the amount? We say, it's a gift card--you can swipe it. She said no, she needs the paper it comes with. WHAT? so i asked for manager and she said she'll send her sister over or the manager. That was during appetizers. They never came. And they took $50 off the bill only and kept the gift card. What a low thing to do. So we said to add the $50 back and give us back the gift card. SO SCUMMY. Was here for a baby shower, starting with free valet parking I was accommodated quickly. Walking in to free coat check, pretty quick process arriving and when leaving. Decorated very nice, food was delicious and the DJ was good! the wait staff were good no real complaints. Overall a good night they are not cheap but nothing is now a days. Don't waste your time, musty, smelly, needs major updating, fake flowers that are collecting dust in lobby. Food was cold and not prepared or presented properly. I saw this restaurant while browsing high caliber ratings for weddings and events. I had my wedding may 8,19. Paul helped me out from the beginning to the end. The place was really lit and entertaining. The attendants that help you out during the event are really helpful "vinny" helped us out through all of the event. "Jenny" the bartender helped us out to have a good time. Gave us controlled shots. Haha paul was there to make sure everything was perfect. This is hands down the best venue and restaurant in the bronx. Had my bridal shower here 3 years ago in the catering hall portion and had a surprise party last night in the restaurant for my husband. Paul is kind, professional, helpful, and the best to work with. His staff is amazing and worked so hard to provide a wonderful night. The food is out of this world delicious, and all my guests literally cannot stop talking about it. Both the catering hall and restaurant are immaculate. Gorgeous inside and out for photos. I cannot wait until I have another event to plan so that I can return to scavello's again, but I will be back at the restaurant for dinner before then as well!
