Large Oxtail Stew Dinner Combo Plate

Good food, huge portions! The oxtails are meaty, and the snapper was delish. Good portions for the sides too.

Large variety of food, huge portions but lacking taste. I must say the customer service is better than the usual West Indian restaurant. It's very unfortunate the food don't make you want to return. The Rasta pasta and baked Mac and cheese were also overcooked and lacked "flava".

Large Pepper Steak Dinner Combo Plate with rasta pasta, Candied Yams, Baked Mac & Cheese with oxtail gravy

When I tell you do not walk go RUN to Flavas do it!! I am so thankful we tried it out. The place itself was very clean, organized, well-lit, the owner at the front taking our order was very kind and patient.. but the food...wow. Every bite is nostalgic, authentic Jamaican food, it leaves your stomach happy but it feeds your soul. This is what soul food is about. We ordered two plates (the small comes with 2 sides, large comes with 3) for main we got jerk chicken and the pepper steak on sides was the Mac, rice & peas, yams, and Rasta pasta. Everything was phenomenal. The jerk had heat and flavor, the steak was soft and juicy, Mac was the right amount of baked and cheese ratio, the Rasta pasta played no games full of flavor and creamy, the yams were the perfect balance of sweet, and the rice was perfectly cooked. He didn't even have hesitation or give a hard time about having some of the oxtail gravy to smother the sides. Honestly after trying the food and the gravy I can't wait to go back and get the oxtail next time. I want to throw a party just to have an excuse for their catering. And the yams alone I could have ordered by the gallon. Everything was delicious, authentic, and clean!

Jerk chicken, callaloo, and rice and peas

Listen.......there has to be an old Jamaican lady back there cooking. Flavas has flavaaaaa! Jerk chicken was on point. The callaloo was great. They have a lot of different soup options. They have your typical West Indian food but they also have salmon and Rasta pasta which is amazing. Portion size was good for the price and the service was unlike most Caribbean spots in the Bronx lol The woman at the counter was really sweet. If you like authentic Caribbean food I think you'll be happy.

Small BBQ Chicken Dinner Combo Plate

I wanted to like them so bad. The menu looks so enticing but then you get the food and it's nothing like you pictured it. I got the small bbq chicken with Mac and cheese and collard greens with a cornbread. Collards had no flavor. Mac and cheese also had no flavor not even a cheesy taste. The bbq sauce was nice and the cornbread was good but definitely a waste of money.

Food is excellent. Great portion size. Not too crazy about the Rasta Pasta. But it's definitely a place I will frequent.

From the beginning of the process, Scott was responsive and worked with our schedule for the tasting. We were able to make a selection from many dishes and after trying their food we were sold! Especially the NY strip steak with bleu cheese! We received so many compliments on the food and many of our guests even went to compliment the kitchen team themselves! The Balinese chicken turned out to be my favorite, but they were all amazing! They made way more than enough food for everyone and brought containers for our guest and us to take the leftovers home. We love not wasting food! With our budget, we were thinking we could only get a decent caterer, but we lucked out with LDV. They are without a doubt one of the best in the business! They catered to our needs and even made suggestions on how to reduce cost. In our case we brought our own drinks for their bartender to serve, which helped reduce cost. This turned out amazing and our bartender, Mark, helped make it a smooth and tipsy night for our guests! Last but not the least, their service was top-notch. They helped with the buffet so people there would be no crowd and made sure everyone got their food in a timely manner and even made plates for my husband and I so we didn't need to take the time! We were ecstatic with the service and it was one of the smoothest parts of the entire wedding. 5-stars all-around.

Here's why we jumped at the chance to work with Scott and team: - no problem or request was too much - every email or phone call was returned - they kept every commitment: timing, cost, and of course, the food. Now let's get to the food. Word one: abundance. So much variety, all fresh, some surprises (gourmet jerky with a perfect French mustard) perfectly displayed despite the limitations of the space. The passed hors doevres were prepared on site and were delicious, beautifully served, and ample. For reference, this was a wedding cocktail reception for 30 people, Mid day, I would absolutely hire Scott and LDV for a similar event and I would not hesitate to have a full dinner catered under his watchful eye. Note: Scott's staff were professional, poised, and friendly.

Because they literally go together. The Mac is cheesy and cooked exactly how I want it to taste. It sticks together and is never burnt on top. But I have tried the potato salad (a hit for sure), collard greens (seasoned to perfection), and the sweet potato fries (which I don't like, because I don't really care for a sweet potato fry. But they are steak cut and glazed with a sweet yet light glaze). As for the meats: I've had the fried catfish, catfish bites, beef ribs, fried chicken breast, baked chicken breast, fried chicken wings (BBQ & Jerk), and the salmon, crabcakes, and the ultimate feast. Oh and I've had their chicken strips. By far my favorite and frequently ordered are the catfish bites and chicken strips. Just know that this restaurant used to be a sit down intimate spot with a catering hall a few doors down. But since CoVid, it has become solely takeout and delivery by the apps. So, you won't get a full dining experience and will have to pay for a certain kind of packaging. For instance, if you don't want your food to touch or leak into other food the. Order separate packages and they will do it. This place has iced tea and lemonade that are divine. The customer service not be the absolute best if you walk in. Because they are always busy and inundated with orders which is a good sign. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cornbread! My Lawd. It's thick and delicious.

I finally was served by Chef David Greco himself. He beat Bobby Flay in Eggplant throw down. You can see the picture of him on the show. Dave is super friendly and engaging. The Italian sushi is definitely very innovative. Soft prosciutto is rolled in sushi style with filling of arugula, cheese, and sun dried tomatoes. There are two kinds of dipping: balsamic and pesto. Both of them are complimenting the sushi. Eggplant parmigiana is definitely a must try. It's like a lasagna made of layers of thin fried eggplant. You can make mozzarella pull. So delicious, not surprised that he beat Bobby Flay.

The size of the first floor is perfect for that amount of people and the outside deck worked well for smokers and for a quick escape from the crowd to socialize with friends and family outside during the party. We met with the management and explained to them what we would like to do. They gave us a price of around $2,500 which included plenty of food, a waitress, a bartender, a captain, the whole setup, utensils, decorations, and hors d'œuvre.
