I had family coming to visit and they requested for PR food…read more Then It hit me, there's no more puertorican food places left! If you really think about it the Dominican food has taken over the Bx. I searched, and found this place. The moment you step in you are greeted with the warmest blessings. The 2 beautiful people that worked there made our time there so memorable. The food was out of this world let me tell you. Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. We tried it all. Came home with passion fruit (parcha) and guyaba (guanabana) Delicious 10/10 It was so fresh and they don't add too much ice so you get all the juice taste. All in all I'm coming here from now on. A true BX staple for the community and a true essence of the Bori pride resides here. If you miss PR, come here.

Casa Adela 66 Avenue C (AKA Loisaida Ave.)…read moreNew York, NY 10009 Half Rotisserie Chicken The staff already made a great impression as soon as I was seated. I was surprised (in a good way) that a fork, knife and spoon was automatically provided. Most restaurants only place a fork and knife on the table and I always have to request a spoon with my meal. This tissi had beautifully charred skin and tender, white meat. It was love at first bite. The chunk meat is fairly large and it will make a great leftover meal for the next day. As a bonus, a tall pitcher of complimentary chilled water is provided. This location only accepts cash, so please plan accordingly. As I was leaving, I unintentionally left a personal belonging on the restaurant table. My server stepped outside the restaurant and brought me my item. This is one of my better dining experiences from start to finish; the chef and servers clearly go above and beyond. #casaadela #halfrotisseriechicken

We waited a bit until a table opened up, and sat down to order. Unfortunately our order took about 30 minutes to come out! I was worried it was lost somewhere, but one of the workers checked in for us. When the food came out, everything was hot and tasted well! The maduros were sweet and had good flavor. The chicken was not too dry. The maduro was fine, but it lacked some flavor for me, though the texture was great! The pernil was a little dry too. Overall, I had a fine time but I really appreciated the kind service and vibe Casa Adela has!

I was hoping it would be tasty so I could have a new local spot, but I'll keep looking I guess. The amount of food I got for the price wasn't bad. The only thing I can think of that was positive about the food is that the potato ball was alright, I would eat it again.

Very wrong decision I walked in, there was an older woman with her daughter, and the daughter was helping her order her food and they were taken care of. I waited as it was very busy. I will say that. A gentleman walked in also Hispanic, but we can identify and assume what color of skin he was because he sat down right next to me, and the server literally went to him did not even look at me not once and asked him what he wanted and took his sit down order right next to me in front of my face! To my astonishment did not ask me what I wanted so I asked him. Do you not see me sitting here waiting to be served?! He didn't even respond. I was going to continue with my order, but it put such a bad taste in my mouth that I stood here in front of the establishment to download Yelp again and write this review. !!Please do not come to this establishment and spend your money because they will not respect you especially if you have of darker skin no matter what nationality you are.! Also the front is crowded with drug addicts!

The staff are very friendly, despite the limited English skills (and we don't speak Spanish). The restaurant takes cash and Zelle. Both of the below entrees came with rice and (a very small portion of) plantain. *Roast Pork: I assume this was pernil. It had a nice balanced seasoning that was gently savory and went well with the rice. Not a particularly "wet" dish, don't expect a lot of sauce. *Chicken Stew: They gave us two large drumsticks of chicken stew. The marinade / sauce is VERY lightly flavored and I wish the seasoning could be stronger / more interesting. This is not the best Dominican food I ever had but I did appreciate the homey charm and the very low prices. For two servings of roast pork and one serving of chicken stew we paid $40 flat!! It was enough to serve our group of four. I don't know how many other places in Hell's Kitchen or other well-visited parts of Manhattan would be this affordable.
