I usually order the Cuban Sandwhich and Media Noche for delivery. I don't live in the city so really appreciate how delicious and well made these items are. I order delivery when I visit Chicago. I received a coupon for my birthday from the restaurant. Rather then let the coupon go to waste i made the hour drive on Friday at 4:00 pm We arrived at 5:00 pm to an empty restaurant. We were pleased with the restaurant and the very friendly wait person. We ordered the cuban mix appetizer a pisco sour and a cuba Libre. All seemed to go well. The appetizer looked amazing. Sadly as we began eating, most of the beef and sausage was dripping in Grease. The pork had no flavor. Still no complaints as the wait person was very nice. As another group came in, things went south. We didn't get our coffee. We requested a take out box at least 4 times. The cremebrule seemed prepackaged. We requested our check as we were done waiting. I feel bad about the fact that they were so short handed but 2 other employees began there shift and they were just talking . The lack of management caused them to upset my birthday dinner. I would say come here only if you have ample amounts of time. When we got here, we were sat almost immediately. We ordered 10 minutes later and we didn't get our food (3 regular dishes) until about 45 minutes later. The server was never there and I had to keep walking up to the bar to flag down our server. We were so close to cancelling our order and going Wendy's because a 13 minute walk would be much faster. Food came out and it was okay. It wasn't worth the wait. So this was pretty disappointing. The black beans and the rice were pretty good, but the entrees and especially the service were just not good. Only a few tables occupied, there was a band setting up for later and the room was loud. I ordered the pork chunks, braised then fried crispy with sauteed onions. Donna got the beef dish, which was shredded roast with more sauteed onions and a garnish. It was like they forgot to season either one of our dishes at all. We expected some Cuban spices, but there was nothing. Once we got our food, they left us completely alone. I had to go find somebody to get a check. I may stop there sometime to try a cubano sandwich for lunch(hard to find a good one), but dinner is out. read more

This place was soooo tasty!! The live music reminded me of my time in Cuba and was so much fun to listen to while enjoying my food. The fried calamari was my favorite, so tasty and the two different sauces along with the pickled onions made it perfect. Actually the tastiest pickled onions I've had, so satisfying!! The guanabana juice was delicious, it was a bit thick but sweet and refreshing. Vaca frita was something very new for me! Very very crunchy haha I got sick of it after awhile so I didn't finish but mostly cause it was a huge serving! I was excited to get some good Cuban food. The mariquitas were good as were the tostones an the sweet plantains. The arroz congri were just ok. The oxtails (rabid encendido) were too saucy with what seemed more of a chilli bean type sauce . Not like any Cuban rabo encendidos I have ever had ...There were fruit flies flying about our food and table. Nope would not recommend if so bring a fly swatter!!! My husband had the chicken milanesa (basically chicken fried steak) with black beans and rice he ate it all but for him food is fuel. This solid Cuban spot is now open for breakfast. Very cool dining room and a super friendly and knowledgeable waitress. I had a cafe con leche and plate of lechon served with black beans and rice. Coffee was excellent. The lechon was tender savory with citrus and garlic flavors. Black beans were perfectly balanced and the rice was tasty and cooked to perfection. Food was amazing. Ordered the Jibarrito with steak and I still think about it to this day. The green sauce on it was perfection. The bread was a better version of texas roadhouse rolls. The mango mojito was delicious. The karaoke vibes on Wednesdays are immaculate. Ambiance is intimate. Favorite part of the decor was the mural of scarface and neon lights. Would come again. Stopped for lunch take out here after a baby shower nearby. We ordered ropa vieja, a Cuban sandwich, and a steak sandwich. Unfortunately, we also ordered chicken fried rice that didn't make it into our bag. They were cool though, and since we didn't notice until we got home, they gave us a credit in our card right away! The cuban was delicious, even though I wasn't too impressed with the bread that just seemed like hotdog bun than a grilled French bread I expected from the online photos. The ropa was also delicious, though a little tough to chew even though I assume it has simmered for hours. Steak sandwich was also a hit. Let me start by saying this restaurant serves great food.. Fresh delicious Cuban food . However if you're going to sit down and eat at the restaurant on Western Ave. prepare to wait a long and unreasonable amount of time for your food . I took My wife and another couple expecting to have a great time and spent an hour 1/12 in full pissed off mode. We were one of 4 other guess on Saturday April 11th .. it took over 12-15 minutes just to get water at oil table and drinks. Another 10-15 minutes to get our appetizers . And then the waitress disappears . Had to wave another waitress down just to get our dinner order in . An hour in before we got our dinner . FYI reason ...... they prioritize delivery pick-up ... not the in restaurants customers. No kidding makes perfect sense why this place has such few customers on a Saturday evening . read more

I was wanting something other than Mexican food, but still Latin flavors. I was looking at menus from Irazu (Costa Rican) and 90 Miles (Cuban), which then got me to Sazon Cubano. There were a few items that sounded really good- Chicken Jibarito was my favorite, though a little oily. I preferred the chicken and chorizo over the beef Empanadas. The dipping sauces paired well, but I like them with the chimichurri sauce. The Tostones had a great crispy exterior and soft chew on the inside. I tried a bite of the steak and thought it was a tad tough, no seasoning, but I really liked the Congri rice. Good flavors and affordable pricing! read more

I was asked the server which is better It did not surprise me that she recommended the more expensive entree. We were finishing up the meal when a very large rat decided to search for leftovers not far from our outdoor table. That was it for me. I left the table to wait by the front of the restaurant until our bill was settled. I'm very disappointed because I was hoping to have found a new little ethnic gem. Wandered in on a Saturday night for dinner and was seated immediately for a table of 3 - we sat inside but the outside patio was also available! Our waitress was incredibly attentive and recommended a few of her favorite options when we asked as well. Mojitos were incredibly refreshing for a hot summer day and we had the plantain chips as an appetizer. They have a nice crunch and the dip they come with is great. I had the pulled pork sandwich with maduros and highly recommend both - the guava barbecue sauce on the pulled pork was such a good mix of sweet and tangy and the maduros were sweet and soft but not mushy. Had a great experience at Sazon Cubano! We sat in the back bar area and love the vibe back there. Food was great, drinks were great, service was great! Would definitely recommend and will be going back! Food: We did not have a single bite of food that we didn't like! The pork tamale with the sauces that came with it was delicious and only $4 for each one. Could mix and match as many as you want with pork, chicken, or no meat. The Milanesa de Pollo was basically a chicken parm with ham on top and it was to die for!!! The Enchilado de Camaron was just the right amount of spicy and was also delicious. Recommend adding rice as one of the sides as it doesn't come with it unless you ask specifically. Drinks: The classic mojito was amazing! The perfect ratio and not too sweet. One negative I will say is that there was no drink section on the menu besides soda, so that was a little confusing because they have a full bar and it was hard to see prices/options. I have ordered carry out from sazón's- fullerton location several times, and my Argentinian grandmother loves it so of course I trust her judgement and checked out Sazón 2.0. I was thoroughly impressed. Clean, fun, spacious!! You can tell a lot of thought and energy went into the design, ambiance and experience. Our server/ bartender was incredibly nice. Drinks were tasty, and the food was fresh. We ordered jibarito sandwiches, maduros, a spicy Paloma and a mojito. We were out doing errands and decided to give this place a shot. We had been here when it was Paladar and hoped it was just as good. We came in on a weeknight, so we weren't surprised it was fairly empty. The front part of the place doesn't feel as cozy as the back where the bar is. I ordered a shrimp jibarito and maduros and my husband the pork chunks. My only complaint with my meal was that they left the shrimp tails on. I ended up taking my sandwich apart to remove them. My husband really enjoyed his meal and commented on the tenderness of the meat. His only critique was the name, he thought translated pork chunks doesn't sound the most appetizing. Service was mostly attentive. Towards the end of our meal, the attentiveness fell off a bit. Overall, we'd order or stop in again. read more

OMG for a long time i have been enjoying cuban restaurants like 90 miles in Chicago , however i an happy to report that I have found a cuban restaurant Sazon Cubano which buts 90 miles to shame in terms of flavor and freshness. I have been there 3 times already and I have not been disappointed. The food is so fresh and whoever is the cook there , I take my hat off to you . Food was flavorless and when the food did have taste it was salt. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who likes actual Cuban food.

I think there are some kinks that have to be worked out but this place has promise! Great food, but service could be improved (we were treated fine but the diners outdoor kept having to come in to ask for things). The door slams really loud and the music is cranked to a decibel that require you to keep having to repeat your order to the staff. The toast app while usable, is discouraged by the wait staff. The sangrias are tasty, the bread rolls soft and adorable, and the camarones Al ajillo was good (got the yellow rice...yum!), the plantains cooked well (though they could use a bit more salt), and my BFs pulled pork sandwich was moist and flavorful. We will definitely be coming back...especially for the live music on sundays. read more

Decor is different in the two dining rooms, and I like them both. There was live music, a talented duo who played multiple instruments. However, the service was woefully inattentive - had to walk inside several times (we were sitting outside) in order to get our servers attention. And it was not busy - only two or three tables. And one of the times it was to send back an entree that was tepid at best. The waitress told me it was just off the grill. Nope, it was cold. Congri, a favorite was really dry. ME and my friendS went for an early dinner on Friday before heading to a play. It was kinda empty in the front area and there was only one waitress serving everybody. But then it took nearly 2 hours for our food to arrive. And to top it off, my friend's food had cilantro even though she specifically asked for it without cilantro. I had to go back to the kitchen a few times to ask for more drinks. The music was blasting so loud that we couldn't even hear each other properly. And guess what?
