Our waiter, John, was super nice and provided great service! The fish of the day was incredibly fresh, tasted so clean, and was absolutely delicious. The skirt steak was juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly, and the rice was honestly some of the best rice I've ever had. The drinks were delicious too! It started to rain while we were there, and the owner came by and gave us a complimentary shot to help warm us up, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more memorable. This was our first trip to Greenport and didn't quite know what to expect... As we pulled in and parked it was the gorgeous arch filled with Ivy and lemons that caught her attention... As you walked into the restaurant, the Water view literally made you feel like you were in Greece with mansions here and their tucked in the hills across the water... But in the end, the biggest thing that we can rave about is the food! A few years ago we were lucky enough to travel to Greece. Their original version of a Greek salad has been almost bastardized (lol) in the US. It's wholesome and fresh cucumbers with fresh tomatoes and a block of feta on top. Drenched in a crisp dressing. SAYLOR brought us back!! The Greek salad, The calamari, the zucchini chips.... Mouthwatering !!!!!!!! Don't even get me started on the drinks. A basil vodka drink yummm and an old fashioned made with a refreshing twist!!! For sure this is a go to place for your visit!!! I've said this plenty of times, and I'll die on this hill: you cannot be a restaurant that has both outstanding food and a great, lively atmosphere. This restaurant is proof of that. We came for lunch on Friday of Fourth of July weekend after being told they were fully booked for dinner. Even during the day, the restaurant was packed, which definitely speaks to its popularity. The menu is Mediterranean, which is one of my favorite cuisines, so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food was just average. We started with the fried calamari and the Greek salad. The Greek salad was probably the best thing we ordered--fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The calamari, however, was disappointing. It was mostly chunks of fried breading with very little actual calamari. At one point, we picked up what looked like a piece of calamari only to realize it was just a tightly packed cluster of fried tentacles about the size of a golf ball. It was served with an aioli that was extremely rich and overpowering. A little went a very long way, and I found the dish difficult to finish. For our entrées, my fiancé ordered the skirt steak based on our waitress's recommendation, and I had the chicken kebabs. They certainly didn't skimp on the portion size for the kebobs, but the chicken pieces were enormous and unfortunately very dry. I only managed to eat a few bites before giving up. One thing that was surprisingly frustrating was the drinks. I ordered a Sprite and was served seltzer instead. Assuming it was just a mistake, I ordered another when my glass was empty--but I was brought seltzer again. It wasn't a huge issue, but it was odd that it happened twice. The service started off well. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and personable. However, once she went on break, it felt like we were forgotten. At one point, I dropped my fork and waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to pass by so I could ask for another. Eventually, I ended up grabbing one from the empty table next to us because no one came around. Overall, this is a fun place with a poppin' atmosphere, and I imagine it's even better in the evening around sunset. That said, it's not somewhere I'd recommend for the food. I'd suggest coming for drinks, the ambiance, and the overall vibe rather than expecting an exceptional meal. The food wasn't bad--it just wasn't memorable, and it certainly didn't justify the prices. Such a great experience, we were the last table to have been seated outside right before it started pouring rain. By God's grace the the table umbrellas held up and we stayed dry the entire time despite insane winds. All the tables inside were packed and we actually enjoyed the solitude. Our server John was very kind and provided refills of our frozen drinks. The owner came out and gave us complementary tequila shots for being good sports about the rain. All the food was really good. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my branzino but was not a fan of the potatoes. The appetizers were good, drinks were delicious and strong. Oh Saylor! Such a cute spot and definitely gave Mediterranean feels all over. I ordered the chicken kebab with pita, and potatoes. Very delicious and shareable. Our server was attentive and nice. Our food did take a while to come out but once it did, it was worth it. I do wish the place had a mocktail menu. They also had no NA beers. The best part of Saylor for me was the DJ. I kept on being impressed on his transitions from song to song, it was great! Oh and also the entrance was definitely instagramable, lots of females taking photos lol read more

I seriously LOVE this new spot. Located right on the water in Greenport, across from their sister restaurant, Claudio's. The whole feel is very cute, lively and classy too. The highlight of my dinner here had to be the kabab platter. It was super filling and the potatoes were simply perfect. And I can't forget about the DJ either... he was smooth and really great at keeping the vibe going without getting too loud. This place was amazing the food was top notch. The highlight of the night was the Branzino. Grilled to perfection with a crispy skin and so much flavor. Oysters was so sweet and even tho I'm use to adding different ingredients on my oyster this was fine without it. The waiter Tyler consistently checked on us to see if we needed anything. Wow. To say this place was a disappointment would be an understatement. The potential here is through the roof, but the most important part just was not executed. First and foremost, salt and pepper go a LONG way. Unfortunately, there was none on any of the plates. We started with apps. Fried calamari and baked feta. Best thing we ate here, was the baked feta. It was creamy, crispy, good. Solid app. The fried calamari however, shouldn't have been called fried. It was not fried long enough, the breading just fell off into the plate and was mush. It was served with a cup of mayo. Literally. It is supposed to be a "lemon aioli" no. No lemon, no flavor, just mayo. Second were our main courses. I had gotten the Mediterranean pasta with grilled chicken. As described on menu, butter, white wine, capers. All things that would give great flavor but there was none. Just extremely bland. Even the added grilled chicken, just tasted like nothing. My wife ordered the steak. Ordered medium rare, the steak was cooked beautifully. However, again just no flavor. No salt, no pepper nothing. Great cook on steak but what's the point if it has zero flavor. It had a "chimichurri" on the steak as well, which somehow tasted like nothing. Extremely disappointed. We also got lemon potatoes, which were ok. The one thing on the table that had a tiny bit of flavor. They were tender potatoes, nice lemon kick, they were good. Wife's steak came with a fried rice and broccoli. Fried rice with steak? Interesting. Was not fresh fried rice. Boxed, no flavor, broccoli had no salt pepper or garlic on it so it was very very bland. We had cocktails, they were ok. Can't complain too much about those. After the tasteless meal, we decided to skip dessert. Had a feeling we would just be disappointed. Two stars were for the view ( which is beautiful ) the refreshing cocktails, and the potential. But they must learn how to season food. Especially if they're charging what they're charging. Mind you, seemed the surrounding tables had problems with the food and service as well. But that's just hear say. I wouldn't go here until they work out the kinks with flavoring. read more

Saylor looks like the kind of place you want to love before you even sit down. It has the view, the music, the coastal decor, the whole "lunch that accidentally turns into sunset drinks" fantasy. Which makes it all the more frustrating when a restaurant with this much going for it somehow manages to feel less like Greenport's next great waterfront spot and more like a beautiful missed opportunity. We went on Sunday for lunch to try Saylor, and the setting really is lovely. The views are wonderful, the playlist worked, and the decor has that relaxed, beach-club elegance that made me think of Comporta in Portugal. That is where the good news mostly ends. We started by asking for a cocktail that was not sweet and were steered toward the Mykonos margarita. It was bad enough that we sent it back and decided not to order anything else from the bar. It had a strange aftertaste and was still sweet, which felt especially disappointing because the place is begging for a serious bar program. With that view and vibe, this should be the home of a great bergamot spritz, a crisp white Negroni, a clarified milk punch, something bright and coastal and memorable. Instead, it felt like a big missed chance. The Greek salad was fine. Nothing wrong with it, nothing exciting about it. Exactly what you expect a Greek salad to be. The shrimp skewers, though, were mushy. My guess is they had been over-marinated in acid and were basically "cooked" before they ever touched the grill. The fried calamari was passable, though a little salty. Again, not terrible, but not something I would go out of my way for. The bigger issue is that I still do not really know what Saylor is trying to be. It has the view, the room, the music, and the bones of a great Greenport destination. But the food and drinks do not yet live up to the setting. I would come back for a tap beer and an app, but for now Saylor feels like one very pretty missed opportunity. read more

Just seems like another seasonal spot that doesn't care what product they put out because they think the great location can carry any short comings. I understand these seasonal spots have just a few months to make their money. I don't care if something is expensive, but if you're going to charge premiums, please put out a nice product. Mezze Board(really a tower) for $42 offers 3 tiny ramekins of dips with pita. Presentation and portions were sad. Fried calamari was so greasy and the breading was falling off. Drinks served in hard plastic cups. Unsure why there wasn't glass . Ambiance was nice but not worth it for the food. Service was okay. I have to assume it's difficult to get staffing on the north fork of Long Island but if so, maybe spend more time training them so they offer your guest an elevated experience for your location. Well it's exactly what I'd expect from a restaurant on the water. Great views and sub par food. This is why we only got drinks and a few appetizers. The drinks were great but the food wasn't. I've never had oysters sitting on a bed of ice that were warm. Not very appetizing. They have a cozy outdoor setting with couches and pillows but all the plastic lemons trying to make it look like the Amalfi Coast is rather tacky. I'd say come for the drinks, views, and a nice place to hang out, but that's about it. read more

Scott was our server today and he was fantastic! We ordered the branzino, although we didn't take him up on it he did offer to filet it for someone at the table. We ordered the calamari, fried zucchini, branzino, steak, pasta, burger and kids chicken fingers. Kids chicken fingers oddly was a 9/10 it was really good! Tacky decor...this place is in the heart of the North Fork, an agricultural treasure of fruit, flower, and vegetables....and yet the entrance is tunnel of FAKE lemon vines ..tacky and ridiculous. Wife and I sat at bar, the seats were low and uncomfortable, likely to help turnover to serve more and sell more. Cocktails for $18, many served in plastic cups. Tap beer served in plastic cup for $10. Ridiculous. Calamari appetizer, $28. Annoying loud beat music served by a DJ. The place is in a beautiful harbor setting, so why spoil the vibe with thumping beat music? Neither of the 2 bartenders acknowledged us, so, after 5 minutes waiting for a simple " hello, be with you in a minute" we left. The food was extremely late and on top of it came with HAIR in it and chicken was so undercooked So unorganized it's like a zoo or a child runs it. The owner Celeste is beyond rude and unprofessional. The employee Emily Chew was a nightmare as well. She is spiteful and does not care about her customers and especially staff. Staff all told us they were quitting because of her and are treated terribly. SHE CALLED CUSTOMERS DISGUSTING and ruined the experience because her ego was hurt from calling her out on what it not right. Instead of apologizing she made a scene and made everyone feel uncomfortable. The place itself is adorable, with beautiful views and a cheerful yellow-and-lemon theme that really creates an uplifting atmosphere. Our waitress was also very nice and apologetic when an issue came up. Unfortunately, I can't say much positive about the food or drinks. We ordered wine and a frozen lemon cocktail, both of which arrived in dirty glasses. Our waitress apologized and took care of it quickly, and we were understanding because things happen. We didn't want it to ruin our day. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't improve. We ordered a pasta dish and the branzino. My pasta arrived lukewarm and lacked flavor, and I had to ask for grated cheese just to give it some taste. The branzino was also very bland. Then, after only a few forkfuls of my pasta, I found a hair mixed in with the food. At that point, I was done. It's a shame because the setting is beautiful and has so much potential. Unfortunately, between the dirty glasses, lack of flavor, lukewarm food, and finding a hair in my pasta, this was not an experience I would want to repeat. I actually came here because I saw several TikTok influencers rave about this place and was really looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. While visiting the Hamptons, we took the ferry over to this hidden gem and I'm so glad we did! First, the atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Set right on the water, the restaurant feels like you've been transported to the Amalfi Coast, complete with gorgeous yellow European-style furnishings and breathtaking waterfront views. Since it's entirely outdoors, it's only open seasonally, so be sure to visit before they close for the year. As for the food, everything was fantastic. We started with the mezze platter featuring an assortment of Mediterranean dips and warm pita bread. The standout for me was the spicy feta dip--absolutely incredible and packed with flavor. We also ordered the whole branzino, which was cooked to perfection (major compliments to the chef), and the chicken skewers, which were tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with their homemade tzatziki. Whoever is behind the dip recipes deserves special recognition because every single one was outstanding. Another standout for our group...a whole fresh lemon, hollowed out and filled with a refreshing frozen lemon slush made from real lemon juice. The owner, Celeste, stopped by our table to check on us and shared that they'll be adding DJs on Saturdays and Sundays, which will make the already lively atmosphere even more fun. We loved this place so much that we came back a second time before leaving the Hamptons, and the food was just as exceptional as our first visit. If you're visiting the Hamptons, this is an absolute must. Beautiful setting, delicious food, warm hospitality, and a vibe that makes you want to stay all day. read more
