This was our first trip to Greenport and didn't quite know what to expect... As we pulled in and parked it was the gorgeous arch filled with Ivy and lemons that caught her attention... As you walked into the restaurant, the Water view literally made you feel like you were in Greece with mansions here and their tucked in the hills across the water... But in the end, the biggest thing that we can rave about is the food! A few years ago we were lucky enough to travel to Greece. Their original version of a Greek salad has been almost bastardized (lol) in the US. It's wholesome and fresh cucumbers with fresh tomatoes and a block of feta on top. Drenched in a crisp dressing. SAYLOR brought us back!! The Greek salad, The calamari, the zucchini chips.... Mouthwatering !!!!!!!! Don't even get me started on the drinks. A basil vodka drink yummm and an old fashioned made with a refreshing twist!!! For sure this is a go to place for your visit!!! The owners, the managers, Rob the bartender all cared about your experience as much as we did.

We had a wonderful dinner for two at Saylor's we sat by the dock. The vibe and energy was amazing . We loved the view Our server William was so attentive and provided excellent service. We definitely wanna come back and hope William is our server again. We shared the Greek salad and we had the shrimp skewers and a whole Branzino. It was perfect . We finished the meal with baklava. We will definitely be back

Oh Saylor! Such a cute spot and definitely gave Mediterranean feels all over. I ordered the chicken kebab with pita, and potatoes. Very delicious and shareable. Our server was attentive and nice. Our food did take a while to come out but once it did, it was worth it. I do wish the place had a mocktail menu. They also had no NA beers. The best part of Saylor for me was the DJ. I kept on being impressed on his transitions from song to song, it was great! Oh and also the entrance was definitely instagramable, lots of females taking photos lol

I had the best dinner at Saylor Beach House! Ask for Julia G -- she's the sweetest, most attentive server and made our night. The food was incredible, vibes were perfect and the service was unmatched. I'll definitely be back.

Nice day to have a nice drink and lunch by the water

This place was amazing the food was top notch. The highlight of the night was the Branzino. Grilled to perfection with a crispy skin and so much flavor. Oysters was so sweet and even tho I'm use to adding different ingredients on my oyster this was fine without it. The waiter Tyler consistently checked on us to see if we needed anything. He paid attention to detail and how I wanted food prepared. The scenery was very nice great ocean views. I will definitely be coming back again to try more things on the menu

Wow. To say this place was a disappointment would be an understatement. The potential here is through the roof, but the most important part just was not executed. First and foremost, salt and pepper go a LONG way. Unfortunately, there was none on any of the plates. We started with apps. Fried calamari and baked feta. Best thing we ate here, was the baked feta. It was creamy, crispy, good. Solid app. The fried calamari however, shouldn't have been called fried. It was not fried long enough, the breading just fell off into the plate and was mush. It was served with a cup of mayo. Literally. It is supposed to be a "lemon aioli" no. No lemon, no flavor, just mayo. Second were our main courses. I had gotten the Mediterranean pasta with grilled chicken. As described on menu, butter, white wine, capers. All things that would give great flavor but there was none. Just extremely bland. Even the added grilled chicken, just tasted like nothing. My wife ordered the steak. Ordered medium rare, the steak was cooked beautifully. However, again just no flavor. No salt, no pepper nothing. Great cook on steak but what's the point if it has zero flavor. It had a "chimichurri" on the steak as well, which somehow tasted like nothing. Extremely disappointed. We also got lemon potatoes, which were ok. The one thing on the table that had a tiny bit of flavor. They were tender potatoes, nice lemon kick, they were good. Wife's steak came with a fried rice and broccoli. Fried rice with steak? Interesting. Was not fresh fried rice. Boxed, no flavor, broccoli had no salt pepper or garlic on it so it was very very bland. We had cocktails, they were ok. Can't complain too much about those. After the tasteless meal, we decided to skip dessert. Had a feeling we would just be disappointed. Two stars were for the view ( which is beautiful ) the refreshing cocktails, and the potential. But they must learn how to season food. Especially if they're charging what they're charging. Mind you, seemed the surrounding tables had problems with the food and service as well. But that's just hear say. I wouldn't go here until they work out the kinks with flavoring.

Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.

Unfortunately, that wasn't possible during this visit because our waitress rarely checked on us, so I wanted to share our experience here. We made a reservation and weren't sure if it specified indoor or outdoor seating, so we called ahead. We were told that getting an upstairs outdoor table would be no problem. However, when we arrived, we were told our reservation was for inside seating only and that the wait for outside would be an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes. We really wanted to sit outside, but rather than make an issue of it, we decided to stay inside. Looking back, we probably should have left. The cocktails were underwhelming, especially considering the price. The highlights of the meal were the duck wings and calamari appetizers, which gave us high hopes for the entrees. Unfortunately, the entrees were a major disappointment. Two people ordered the halibut, and while we understand halibut is a delicate fish that can be difficult to prepare, the dish lacked flavor overall. The foam that came with it tasted horrible--almost soapy--and although the rice and eggplant were good, they weren't flavorful enough to complement the fish. I ordered the tuna burger and specifically requested it cooked medium because I didn't want it to be dry. Unfortunately, it arrived very dry, was falling apart, and lacked flavor. I ended up asking for a side of teriyaki sauce just to make it enjoyable- that didn't help at all and left half the sandwich in my plate. The tuna burger was supposed to come with sweet potato noodles, but they were out-which is not an issue for me, usually. The waitress asked if I'd like a substitute. None of the suggested sides appealed to me, so I asked if I could have the sweet potato purée instead since I saw it for the duck entree. Instead, I was initially served fries. I asked the person who served me, if I can get the puree, the server was confused but eventually understood. When the purée finally arrived, it was unfortunately inedible. The texture and taste reminded me of baby food, and even adding salt and pepper didn't help. I passed it around to the other folks at the table, all saying the same thing. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. Our waitress never came back to check on our meals, so we never had the opportunity to share our concerns while we were dining. She spent much of the evening chatting with other staff members and seemed distracted with friends and kids running around near the lobster tank. When we finished, another server brought us the check, and no one asked how our meal was or if everything was satisfactory. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for the amount we spent. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and has a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food and service did not justify the price. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else.

I felt a little to gaslit when the waitress said that was little gem but as I eat it regularly I know the difference between whole leaves and cut up romaine. They obviously ran out from the holiday but the salad should be cheaper since the substituted ingredients cost less. It was really just the Temu version of what I ordered. It still tasted good but would be nice to be know ahead of time that what you order is different. The burrata also looked different than the photo and I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known it was going to be covered in balsamic glaze. The manager was super friendly and apologetic and explained they were out of things (pappardelle ragu, Bloody Mary mix, etc) due to the weekend. They also ran out of real napkins so cocktail napkins were it. My mom ordered the lobster cavatelli and she got Alfredo on linguini with cheese all over it. Forgot to take a photo but probably better off since an Italian would pass away if they saw it. The branzino was well cooked, not my favorite flavor. The big red pepper that came with it was apparently on vacation too. My aunt said the linguini was decent but had cockles instead of clams. Really wanted to try the berries and hand whipped cream but wasn't going to risk being disappointed with the dish looking nothing like the photo once again.
