Saxbys is coffee shop on Boston University campus that has a very modern ambiance. Tall ceilings, huge windows, lots of space to study or do work, pretty quiet with a little bit of background noise. This is a big plus!
For food, I got a breakfast bagel with turkey sausage, and it was alright for a simple breakfast sandwich, the bagel itself was a subpar, not super fresh and a bit over toasted.
I tried their dark drip roast coffee, and it was pretty good. A bit of a muddled flavor blend, but as far as a cup of drip, it did the trick!
The shop is marketed as run by students which is a cool feat. It wasn't terribly busy, and service was quick.
One thing to note, the bathrooms, while better than many, didn't look like they were regularly maintained. I saw toliet paper scraps on the floor, a couple toilets were not flushed, and its sleek modern design did nothing to hide this fact. The rest of the building seemed really clean cut.
Overall, decent spot, especially if you are looking for a quiet place to study or work! read more
