What happened? The menu used to be consistent, now the sandwiches are skimpy, poorly made and just plain sloppy. If you go stick to the pizza, the staff seems preoccupied with nothing and the wait times have easily doubled. read more

Everything about the place was good. The workers are there with smiles on their faces n ready n willing to serve you. The food is great. I live in the saugerties area n will drive there to get my pizza all the time. The chicken strips are from scratch n the best I've had from anywhere. Wifey and made a run up to Kingston to meet some of her friend and then we had some errands to take care of so we needed a quick stop for dinner before we went home. Wifey's family has been coming here since she was little (When it was Plaza Pizza) and it was on the way to the Thruway so we stopped. I've eaten in a lot of pizza joints in my life and I simply have high expectations...let's just say I know what I like. Anyway, Wifey got a plain slice and a mushroom/sausage slice. I got a slice of Grandma's Sicilian and a Lasagna slice (meatball, sausage, ricotta, sauce and mozzarella). Both of us thought the slices were just ok. The sauce they use here was a little sweet for us and the crust was a little doughy for the regular slices Wifey had. My Sicilian slice wasn't hot enough so it wasn't as crispy as it should have been - tasted ok, but was a bit too droopy for my liking. My lasagna slice was actually pretty yummy - the crust had a good flavor to it and the toppings worked for me...but like my Sicilian, it wasn't hot enough. Service was pretty quick and they were friendly enough, but the slices and two drinks were a little pricey. It was what we needed before hitting the road and I'll probably be back, was just hoping for a home run read more

After this being my first pizza experience in Kingston I have to say was very sad because the food was just average but the service was sadly very rude and I've left a bad taste everywhere. Being that this is the only late night hot food joint for miles, they seem to have a monopoly on the business during that time. It's barely a three star for that kind of attitude. Although you had me scared to know that with credit card purchases you'll need ID, great job on my transaction tonight. I didn't see any boards posting prices, but despite this, asking the employees brought results. I was expecting a piece of cheese pizza, but only one of the two 'by the slice' pizza slices came out without problems about five minutes later. The other had a sliver of a leaf (hope it wasn't weed) wedged in between the cheese and the crust but I was able to take that out without biting into it. Nice try. read more

It was our first time at Savona's Pizza. My wife and I had dinner at Savona's restaurant and that was a great experience. There are allot of poor reviews of the Pizza Plaza here on Yelp. I agree with some comments. The service is par for a pizza place. It's not the friendliest but no one is rude. We order the Spinacola small pizza pie. We thought it was to-die-for. We intended to each have a slice or two. We couldn't stop eating, it was so delicious. An employee brought the order to our table when it was ready. That was a nice touch; she didn't have to. We'd go back there in a heartbeat. The pizza is better than most pizza shops. For those expecting better service, go to their restaurant. read more

Ever walk into a pizza place expecting a godawful slice (I mean, it is called Plaza Pizza) and receive something totally acceptable? Made a warm, sunny day even brighter. har har. Cheesy line for an exceptionally cheesy pizza. Your jaw will get a solid workout chewing through the fresh, hot globs of, albeit, quality mozzarella. The crust was also a bit too thick and chewy for my taste. Even with these factors going against it, I was still FEELING this slice. It had umami. The total "i just ate a decent slice of NY style pizza and will feel satiated for the next hour and a half" feeling. All in all, I'd spend another $2.16 for a slice if I happened to be near Kingston Plaza, didn't want a hot dog from Dallas' and didn't feel like driving to Five Guys. read more

I get to Kingston about once a year. This is by far my favorite pizza of all the places I have tried. Their sauce really makes a huge difference over some of the competitors down the road. They also have good lunch specials and is easily affordable when you want a couple of slices. I always make it a point to eat there every time I visit. read more

Savona's Pizza shop in the Kingston Plaza is average. My friends say the pizza is decent but nothing to write home about. I like that they have gluten free pizza crusts as an option. Their salads are typical for a pizza shop and the ingredients seem fresh even in the winter. I'll continue to come here when I'm in need of a quick bite to eat and I'm in the area but it's not worth a special trip. read more

Once upon a time, Plaza was our go-to take-out pizza place. It had all the right qualities: good portions, close to home, reasonably priced and darned good pizza with really good sauce that wasn't completely over-run with oregano. And the best garlic knots in town. Yay. Then suddenly, and it was right around the time they expanded the business with new locations and the excellent Savona's Bistro at the waterfront disctrict, the quality fell down. And to make matters worse, they didn't own up to their mistakes. One time, they forgot to include my side of sausage in the delivery, when I called to report it the cook said "we chopped it up into the bolognese sauce". This was, of course, a blantant lie and caused me to complain pretty fiercely to the management. To their credit, I got a call back and they resolved it. But it really hasn't been the same since. We still get takeout there occasionally, but it's rarely our first choice. I sorta wish I could give it 2.5 stars, but 3 will do. These days the pasta is often overcooked and the garlic knots are very greasy. So the quality never really came back. The pizza is still pretty tasty though. read more

My latest purchase here was a mushroom and onion pizza. My two biggest complaints. Crust was slightly burnt and overdone. Secondly - when putting onions on a pizza they shouldn't be thick chopped chunks. The onions should be sliced thin on a meat slicer and then spread out evenly over the pizza. Pizza and wings are usually great BUT and I always go when I'm in town, but when you order 2 sets wings and request only the drumette portion on one and they give you all flap portions on the other instead of mixing they deserve zero starts. I've always been a fan and I've been eating here for over a decade it seems. Up until today it's been a 5-star experience as far as pizza goes, but today I believe I was given a day-old, full-size pizza. It's kind of an interesting predicament, because day-old pizza still tastes awesome. A day old slice is fine, but I felt kind of slighted having paid full price for a pie that was clearly at least a day old. The crust, my favorite part, was practically inedible. Then I went to open the chicken and spinach, hello.... you must cut your own chicken and spinach at this location. Every time I go to the plaza location, I have nothing but a problem, and the counter girls have a nasty attitude. If Morton Blvd would deliver all this way, I would order from them because there food taste better and it's not dripping in oil, and Sam the counter girl is so nice and has such a great attitude.. The food is always good...if the help gets their act together and serves, especially delivery. Excuses, delays, clipped responses, no apologies....u might be better to only pay cash so u can refuse 90 min deliveries and not have ur credit card involved.
