Wish I could give 0 stars. I asked for a chicken vodka wrap and told me no. What ? He than just gave me a plain wrapnwith dry chicken and lettuce with an awful salad and a cup of plain oil for dressing . The wrap wasn't even edible and I can honestly say that's the worst wrap/food I've ever eaten . Good job on that one . I called to followup and the girl who picked up the phone said their computers are off and that their wifi is spotty??? then she proceeds to say that shell process the order when it comes (which is when?). I ask for the manager and he processes the order over the telephone but says we just opened. What business doesnt prepare ahead of time over the WEEKEND to process delivery orders. Pizza wasn't good--sauce had no taste and there wasn't enough cheese. Garlic knots were dry with barely any garlic.

Had their garlic knots. More like garlic bowling balls. These things were super heavy and weighed A TON. Not a happy camper.

Don't come here for the atmosphere or service. Come for the plain slice. I grew up down the street from Savino's. These guys used to have the best greasy pizza in town, true NJ style. Then at some point around 10 years ago, the pizza changed and lost all its flavor. I went there again recently and it seemed they'd figured it out. The sauce was flavorful and liberally applied. The cheese was a little crusty around the edges and perfect on top. You need to eat this outside or over a plate, because the grease is going to leak a bit. And those of you who know what I'm talking about, know that it's a good sign; I'm not talking rivers of grease, just enough to make the crust delicious. There are only a few places to sit inside, which is a shame because the pizza is twice as good when it's fresh out of the oven. As far as specialty slices, there's nothing great, and their Sicilian slices are mediocre. They are pretty good about orders for big parties. Overall, decent neighborhood pizza place, but the plain slices are hard to beat, for now. read more

Savino's Pizza has really gone down hill. Five years ago the pizza was impeccable. I wouldn't mind paying the $16 for a standard plain pie. However, I am not sure if the ingredients changed over the past year, but the pizza and other menu items for that matter do not taste good at all. I think the staff should stop focusing on politics (as I walked in I entered a very heated and inappropriate conversation) and refocus on the pizza. My dad is Savino's #1 fan. Seriously, he's been buying his pies with extra sauce, well done for years. Usually just on Friday but sometimes more if its been one of those weeks. While Savino's serves my dad's favorite, it's not mine. You see, Dad likes his pizza super thin with lots and lots of tomato sauce. Gross. It is dirty. The one guy who made pies is so big and on busy nights he sweats... his sweat rolls off his forehead and onto the pizza that he is making. The nights he worked were known as "Salty pie night". Disgusting. Another guy who made a lot of pies had crusty flour all stuck in his arm hair the whole time he was making pizzas. Plus the people are obnoxious and gross and constantly taking "smoke" breaks outside... how sanitary is that?? read more

Growing up around the area, Savino's has been our go-to pizza place. Had a decent winter snowstorm of about 3-6 inches over the past weekend and Savino's was the only pizza place that was open to deliver during the storm (not even Dominos!). worst consumer service. after explaining to the manager that I got the wrong order i was told to just deal with it. and that they would not send in a new order. i ordered a grilled chicken sald and got just lettuce after calling to alert them, i was told that not only would they not bring the right order but that if they did they would charge me for a whole new order. We love the pizza and his homemade sauce. Its a family business and they really seem to care about the quality of the food. Amongst the best penne vodka I've come across. My go to pasta and sauce for the past 10+ years is penne vodka. It's hard to come across good penne vodka especially when u order from pizza stores. However, savino's penne vodka is amongst the best I've had. Nice and creamy, great color, great taste love it. Generous portion size is a big deal for me and the portion size was great they even included a nice sized loaf of bread. This was my first time ordering online from anywhere (i used grubhub). I'm a huge skeptic of online ordering, I'm not sure if I trust it but damn was it so easy and perfect even left the tip on my paypal account. Delivery came sooner than expected nothing to sign since it was all on paypal; LOVED IT. This was my first time ordering from savino's but it looks like I found my go to take out place for penne vodka.
