In my opinion Savers has been a complete nightmare to have to deal with, I've asked when my stuff would be 0n the store floor or who my donation would be going to. I get horrible responses that of I'm lucky to even get one,I've also been told it may not even go towards any non profit organization at all , so if I wanted it to go some where specifically i would never know Customer service sucks it's a desaster, completely unorganized and complete chaos. It actually wasn't until just recently, maybe 6-9 months even possibly up to a year, but I don't think quiet that long.. some where close to being around August-Sept 2017 so some where in the summer of 2017 did I see things starting to come together.. I realised that Everytime I came in I kept seeing an employee I had never seen before, which led me to think she must be new. Anyways, Her name is Brandi, and she always works with a lil curly blonde gal. And between the 2 of them for how little they are.. they seem to really get some stuff done.. not only does it seem like they are quick at helping people but their also very attentive and I'm never looking around waiting for someone or just having to unload my car by myself. I have a few kids so it's quiet hard to get anything done. But when their there it seems to be so quick and easy and not very painful at all. They also seem to have great personalities, I never feel rushed or ridiculous for the stuff I bring in, I've had a couple deaths in my family recently so I've been going through apt of emotional donation's lately. Things I'd rather keep but can't and it's really difficult to do.. they alqays rest me a sure and well, it's kind of embarrassing, but I guess you could tell I just needed a hug on day, and guess what. They did. I can really say, I think there girls are really helping out savers all together. Savers is made up of donations and their Sonora and you can only keep receiving you deliver an excellent repore and customer service so we can feel comfortable and these girls do it. This place just plain blows. Since when does a freaking used kids book cost $2? I mean seriously I bought two king-sized fitted sheets that did not fit my bed I brought it back with the tag and they would not exchange or return because the tag was off the sheets. I told them all I need is two different sized sheets I don't even want my money back. But they wouldn't budge. So I handed them the bag of sheets and said keep them I donate to you guys anyway anything that I don't need or want might as well get an extra $12 out of me too? This place is full of junk and the junk that they do have is way overpriced. The staff sucks. They look miserable and they do not care about helping the customer. I am a long time shopper of Savers and have spent hundreds of dollars there during their half off sales and club member sales but today was the last day I step foot into a Savers. The customer service was lacking, they make up policy per manager and supervisor who is on duty. She told me that it was my fault for not knowing that what I bought was an "as is " sale when no where it's stated inside the store and I have returned toys that did not work before with no issue but apparently she states that toys that take batteries are non returnable. She was RUDE no customer service skills and the customer should not be blamed for not knowing their made up policy when its not stated on the receipt or any signs plus when I have done so in the past with out an issue. Please give a really good company your time and money, the Goodwill, salvation army and st Vincent's, have half off sales during the same holidays and have better customer service than this. I WILL not be shopping at any Savers again, with other thrift stores that actually give back to the community and have customer service skills I will give them my donations and money. On top of customer service issues the prices for pants missing buttons, jeans with holes and shirts with stains, toys that don't work....well I can do better off at another thrift store. read more

I have been coming to Savers since I was 15 years old that is roughly 30 years of shopping! Since Covid, I barely go now and probably will take my business elsewhere to a thrift store that doesn't price gouge on junk. I understand that you cannot try clothing on for Covid safety, however they give you a store credit if you buy something and it does not fit and have to take it back. Well since I go in there mostly for clothing I'm not going to use my store credit if I can't try on future clothing! Why can't they have a money back receipt policy? They could turn it around after covid subsiides. Sounds like the bank on people never using their credits.. I have seen threadbaron stained clothing marked up to exorbitant prices, cheap things marked high and expensive things marked low. They have no idea how to price items. Not to mention, every time I buy household items they put these giant price tags on them. It take me hours to chip them off with my nails and hot water. And gooey tape holding things together that renders items unusable because of the residue. I have no idea how to get that off of some hand weights I bought there for $9 !! Never had any problems at this store before today. Tried to buy a couple of housewares items for my garden. Was waiting for the total from the cashier when I noticed she ripped the price tag off the bowl and crumpled it up. She then said she couldn't sell it to me. I asked why. She said it had been retagged. I asked them to fix whatever tag it needs so I can buy it. Apparently only daytime staff can tag items. I have no idea what was wrong with the tag since she ripped it up without showing it to me. I got the feeling she may be implying I did something to the tag. It was just upsetting and wasted my time since I came away with no purchase. The housewares at Savers is a lot more pricey when compared to other thrift stores in Reno/Sparks anyway. Insanely NOT customer friendly! Anyone for a used knock-off Louis Vuitton (spelling?) Savers has one for the bargain price of $69.99! Used shirt that couldn't have been more than $20 brand new? $19.99 at Savers! Used, no-name swimsuit bottoms? Bargain price at savers? $14.99! Could it be that the 50% off sale is coming? They mis-ticketed an item-caught it while checking a customer out, removed the tag, and refused to sell it to her or hold it for until someone was there to price it. Wow! And why do they have to charge sales tax. In their words: Because they are a non-not-for-profit organization. In other words - while they pay non-profits for the stuff you give for free - they are NOT a charitable organization. Times are tough and we live in a free-enterprise society - spend your hard earned cash elsewhere AND put it towards a worthwhile cause! read more

I am a thrift store queen! I love shopping here and finding smoking deals on name brand clothes, shoes, purses, and various household items. When I go in I always take some things to donate. Because they give you a 20% off coupon as well as $3 coupon. I go here at least 2 times a month. I never have to wear things more than a couple of times. It's like having my own giant closet. Depending on the day you go brand names are plentiful. I usually go in the middle of the week, during the afternoon. The employee's are friendly and for a thrift store it's clean and organized. The toys are in good working order, and I have found myself buying my daughter things because they're such a good deal. Remember to find what color is 50% off the day you go. read more

I really like this Savers. It is clean and organized. The bathrooms are pretty bad (unlike Goodwill - the only think I like about Goodwill these days), but besides that it's quite nice. The only thing I dislike is the smell of insecticide. It is overwhelming. I can't believe they don't have the doors open sometimes to clear the store out of the toxins emitting from the clothes. It is bad. You definitely need to wash everything when you get home. Who knows what that will do to your skin! Oh, and the music is usually bad (bring headphones!) read more

Horrible customer service and prices that match. $10-20 for old ratty clothes that would be $1 maybe $2.50 at the most at an average thrift store. The staff seemed tired and I even got the displeasure of watching an employee being reprimanded by whom I assume was a manager. I will never go back. read more

Just a year ago I loved this store but the prices have gone up a crazy amount. I admit it, I collect pyrex and other vintage things, and always hope to find a good buy at the thrift store but when ruined pieces or cheap dollar store stuff is priced more than would it could be sold for at antique mall or at the dollar store it is just stupid. I really have started enjoying goodwill more lately and even they are a little high priced. Today I was walking around savers looking at stuff and there was a glass pitcher for $14.99 and a little dollar tree looking candle holder for $9.99!!! ridiculous! read more

I prefer the store in Sparks, on Oddie, to this store as they seem to have a larger store there that isn't so filthy. Prices were a bit expensive for a thrift store as a bowl was sold for $1.99. After all, I could just go to a dollar store and buy 2 there... (They break often enough). The Ladies bathroom was horribly overused and appeared that someone had missed the bowl completely. When I mentioned it to one of the saleswomen, she made a face of disgust and "yeah, yeah, yeah". (Like she knew about it). In addition, they have great, smaller, rolling baskets that fit better in the aisles than the few full sized carts a small group of shoppers were using. Those who continued to use the older, full-sized carts, often tied-up areas where people were unable to pass. Many seemed unwilling to or uncaring to move as far to the side as they should have. On a slightly less bright note, we carelessly laughed with disguised horror and disgust at the men's white briefs, secretly hoping none of us would ever need to wear used underwear, socks or bras. (Only a paycheck away from "safety") As it is nearing Halloween, I figured that they would have Halloween merchandise in the store since they had "advertised" Halloween decor outside, but inside, there was no indication that it was close to that time of year at all. Two years ago, I remember going to the Sparks (Oddie Blvd) store and they had a great Halloween selection. These are the highest costing thrift stores I've ever been in. Not as big as I thought it would be but I think Goodwill is better and has more selections. The people who work there doesn't seem to be happy about their jobs and it makes me wonder why they're working in the first place. It's hard to even greet the people around there when you're trying to be nice. I found a nice glass of Coca-Cola and a yellow mug that has a nice decoration that my mother would love but we forget to bring them with us when we move back down South Cali but I guess something so simple like that to bring over Cali is not something I would bring with me anyways. Place looked old and for some reason, dirty and I mean not the stuff but the floors and walls. this is one horrible store. It is so unsafe there is security! What other thrift store in Reno has security? The staff is rude and could careless if they gave any customer service let alone good customer service. The "supervisor" at the time I was in --a heavy set gal who was so busy hugging people she couldn't be bothered to use common sense-- had no control over that store. That is probably why they need security. Personal safety must be a issue if they are paying someone to control the store since the staff can not. I bought a beautiful Lane cedar chest there last week, did some research on it, and found that it was originally $900.00 in 1966. It needs about $50.00 in TLC. It was half off day---$25.00!! I've never been so insulted in my life. I used to go shopping in savers a couple times a year until today. A lady walks up to me and tells me that I've been kicked out of there multiple times for shop lifting! I said you have the wrong person. She tells me that security is watching me and they have me on video. I asked I would like to see this video. She tells me we can't show you and proceeds to tell me that I can continue shopping. At this point I'm shaking I'm so insulted! Shame on savers security for making a valued costumer feel so horrible! I will make sure to give bad reviews on every site I can for this! read more

I have purchased some great clothes at great prices many years ago, but over the last year or 2, the prices have gone up and are now doubled or more. Yesterday I saw none of their daily discount signs. I can go to discount clothing stores and buy NEW brand name clothes for about Saver's inflated prices. Drove 40 miles in a rented UHaul at $1.09 a mile to drop off a large trailer of household items collected at a hospital garage sale. Called Goodwill in Carson City before we left and was told they are accepting donations till 7:45 PM. Arrived at Goodwill to find they are not accepting donations but their second, main location in Carson absolutely, positively is. Drove to that one eight miles and ten dollars away only to find out they are not accepting donations either, so sorry, we forgot to tell the other store. Now it's 7PM on Saturday and the only thrift store around still open is in Reno, 30 miles and $35 to the north. Drove to Reno Savers on Kietzke who cheerfully accepted everything we had to offer. If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a joke. I bought a jacket last week and brought it home to find it was filthy inside the sleeves and it smelt disgusting. I went to return it and they refused to give me my money back because they only except exchanges even though their product is not even acceptable to be sold to people. This place charges a bit too much for some items. Not sure who they have pricing items. I found a bowl that looked like a leaf, it was for dips. They wanted $10 for it. I looked at the bottom and saw that it still had the WalMart sticker on it. I would rather go to WalMart and buy it brand new. I have been a Savers fan for years. I live at Tahoe and whenever I am in Reno/Sparks I bring a donation and then shop, shop, shop!! I am a little unhappy about the rise in prices. As for the lack of half price items and 99 cent items on Mondays, I believe that some folks come really early and just buy everything and resell to others. Just a thought. read more
