I used to enjoy going to this store to go thrifting. However, since the pandemic they have been making changes. They started with taking away dressing rooms. Okay. Today, I found out that if you have an exchange to make because something didn't fit, it has to be equal or greater value. It wasn't until after I had completed my transaction and I was chatting with a pleasant person (not the one who completed the transaction) that they can give money back if you paid with credit. I'm sorry. Was the other person poorly trained or just making incorrect assumptions about the clientele? Either way, so sad and disappointing. There's a whole row of thrift stores on Research Blvd between my apartment and the Lakeline Mall and this one is hands down the best of the bunch. The key to their success is because they sort their clothes by SIZE, which seems like common sense, but so many places organize by color, making it impossible to find anything. Since Burnet road closed, this is the only Savers in Austin. It's a mixed bag since they do have the better business clothes and jewelry curation. I am hoping they improve their book intake. Right now they still lack dressing rooms so you need to come already with your measurements written down. And they finally attached poles to store shopping carts so people are not permanently walking off with them. smart move But this helps cut down on the number of people who overcrowd the store so we can easily get in and out It's a day trip to this location. This Savers is in the old Conn's location at Pecan Park Blvd. and Lakeline Mall Dr. I've been into this Savers location three times since it opened and I love it. They have a wide variety of clothing that is separated out by type (t-shirt, blouse, knit, long-sleeve, etc), as well as size. It makes it easy to go straight to the type of item and size you're looking for rather than go through every single article of clothing. The coolest thing I've discovered is they have a section of material so if you're looking to make a funky new pillowcase or skirt, stop here first to see what remnants you can pick up. There are also lots of books, toys, electronics, and even some N*Sync bobbleheads that I found today (sans Justin). All of their items are in very nice condition, too. I bought a great Puma handbag as a carry-on luggage bag for $7, an HBO Entourage t-shirt for the husband for $4, a set of two Jack Daniels whiskey glasses for $5, and today I bought a pair of jeans for $2.50 (half off with my Savers card for Memorial Day). I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews for this store. I love doing a little bargain hunting here, especially in their housewares and knick knack sections. I'm always impressed with the quality of dishes they have too, whole sets for a great price. As others have said, the store is well organized and so easy to browse through. I've always thought the employees were friendly, and for a thrift store, the place is super clean. It doesn't give me the same sort of over crowded feeling I get in Goodwill or other thrift stores where too many items are stuffed into a much too small space. Savers gets 4 stars because I think their women's clothing is a little overpriced. $30 for winter coats, $15 for previously worn dresses. When this location first opened it was such a great store. The prices have now gone up so much it is no longer worth the drive. I love that they support Easter seals but these items are donated you don't need to charge ridiculous prices to make a profit. It has also started smelling. Used to smell fresh and clean for a resale shop. They do offer coupons for do donations. Just understand you will stand in lines for a long time at the dressing room because you can only take 6 items in at a time. I've been going to thrift stores looking for a certain item in particular, unfortunately I didn't have luck, but here's a review of my first visit here anyways. The prices seemed better than goodwill but the items weren't as nice. There's almost no-one working there but there was a sign that they were immediately interviewing. The merchandise doesn't stay the same for long, and every time I go to this store its like shopping in a completely new store. Also, they get stuff donated to them from retail stores, and that is why you will find brand new items here frequently. The employees here are very nice...they all seem to enjoy working there, and that makes me enjoy shopping there. I can't believe they have such a low rating...this store deserves at least 4 stars. The only read reason I am giving two stars is because of the selection and order of the store. I understand you get what you pay for but everything I got here was junk. They would have known it was junk had they taken two seconds to plug things in. I just found a few treasures in here that seemed to be in good condition and if working the price would be totally fair. I love thrift stores, perhaps its the fond memories I have of my grandmother and I hitting up garage sales on the weekends when I was a child. Either way, I frequent many stores and sometimes even purchase some stuff. This was one of the most expensive store I have been in and apparently just because they want to charge more. I see no quality in what they choose to sell. I could have jumped in my car within 7 days of purchase for a refund but....you know...it just wasn't worth all that. I live in central Austin but I drive to this Savers location because it is the best Savers location left in Austin. The Burnet rd location is just a mess. This location is clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and the merchandise is well organized and plentiful. There are discounts every day on various colored price tags, Senior Tuesdays when everything is 30% off if you are 55 or older and the Savers club membership helps you get advance notice of sales. read more

I moved to the area recently and have stopped in multiple times. This Savers is always pretty clean, they have a great selection and yes you pay a bit more but it's higher quality, more in-style items. If you donate a bag of items, you usually get a few coupons which is very nice. I don't mind paying a bit more for better quality clothing. I started a new job so had to go clothing shopping and found Gap, White House Black Market, BCBG, J Crew and more that weren't 10 years old. It's definitely a thrift store to check out. read more

I went during the Labor Day Sale, which included 50% off all clothing, shoes and bed/bath items. I also brought a donation with me. I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I donated, I was given multiple coupons for use inside the store - awesome! I was very impressed by how clean the store was, especially for how busy things were for the Labor Day weekend. I found lots of great tops that I can use for work, and I was happy to find a lot of top notch brands like Banana Republic, Gap, Express, New York & Company, and I even found a piece from Diane Von Furstenberg! Overall, the clothes are in good shape, although I will have to return one due to a rip I didn't see in the store. I can't tell you how glad I was when Savers opened a store in the Cedar Park area! I've shopped in many, many thrift stores over the years, but none with the HUGE selection and great prices. They sometimes have a 50% off sale on holidays, where I was able to get great T-shirts for $1 to $2 each, sandals for $4 each, dresses for $5.50 each, pants for $3.50 to $4 each. On Wednesdays, they also have 30% off for anyone over age fifty. The clothing has always been in very good condition too. The only negative would be the funny smell the clothes have, but easily washed out. read more

Do not bring your kids here. My children walked with me through the store for one hour, during which time we found many treasures and filled our cart. There were times my two boys ages 10 and 12 would stroll ahead of me or lag behind, but my three girls were right at my side helping me shop. We were at the end of our hour there, and a frazzled manager approached me and told me that he had to ask us to stop. Told me that his employees caught us putting things back where they do not belong and that we were a safety hazard. I asked why the employees did not approach us immediately when noticing a safety hazard. I wondered why I was getting this summary at the end of the hour, when my cart was full and my time was now seemingly wasted because I was not going to buy these items after this embarrassment. He apologized that his employees did not approach us directly when they noticed something happening, but he stayed on the side of the employees and continued to chastise us. I have worked in retail, and the customer is right. I don't know where the store gets its training manual, but if I had to guess...they didn't get one. If my children dropped an item on the ground or put something back in the wrong place, it is on the employee to put it back where it belongs. That is your job. I can tell you - because I know my children - that they did not do anything like what you usually see going down in a thrift store with a pack of kids, which is still considered normal when dealing with children and a retail setting. I would never take my children into Nordstrom or Crate and barrel, where I would expect our enthusiasm to turn a few heads. But to get a lecture in a thrift store like savers...just rattles the mind. Total bummer. Total loss. Total lack of training. Just put the stuff back and take the $50. That's your job. read more
