Still, I miss my sandwiches. Badly. Arthur Avenue Deli understands that pain. When I want to pretend I know how to cook for company, this is my secret weapon. Fresh pasta? Got it. Sauce--NOT gravy, my God--check. Garlic bread, chicken cutlets, desserts, rainbow cookies... it's all there. I walk out lookin' like I trained under somebody's Italian grandmother. Unbeknownst to them, they are directly responsible for my reputation as the best cook among my peers. I will not correct anyone. Ever. Five stars. Forever grateful. Long live the Bronx--at a safe distance.

Cross Roads Deli -- let's get somethin' straight…read more They make a bacon, egg, and cheese so good it would make a Bronx deli lose its hood card. No exaggeration. When I want a sammich, I want a SAMMICH, and this is the best one in town. Period. Now apparently some dipshit drove their car through the front door. Tragic. Unfortunate. But let's be clear--that's just impatience taken to a criminal level. We all wanted a sandwich, pal. You didn't have to ram the building. Five stars all day. I hope they reopen soon, because the town's morale--and my mornings--depend on it.

Overall it was a good experience for me and I plan on going back for a 2nd visit. I'll let ya know how it went! * Note - although I had a good vibe from all the staff, the male cashier had the personality of a mushroom.
