Not bad! Ordered the beast (roast beef was lean and pretty good) and eggplant sandwich (homemade mozzarella - yum!). They had a big variety of hot foods that looked pretty tasty too. They make their own rice balls. I've only been here once so I can't say too much yet. I want to go back to try their homemade Italian sausage.

Sal makes great sandwiches, try the Empire State but get it on a wrap. It's easier to eat that way.

Decent sized portions, great tasting, and outstanding value. Stopped while passing through the area and exceeded expectations.

Ali's has Guatemalan food prepared to order or from the steam table. Kitchen was busy, so I chose from the steam table. Chicken stew, rice, beans, and some veggies. First time I've had lunch served by the pound from a Spanish place! Food was fresh & tasty but it cost more than expected at $7.99/lb. Got two house made tortillas as well. Would stop in again.

The food turned out to be utterly delicious - we got the Guatemalan chicken stew kind of dish (pollo guisado), rice, 2 kinds of black beans, and plantains. The chicken dish was so fresh, and surprisingly light and very flavorful. The black bean paste was tasty too. The lady running the place asked if we wanted tortillas. So glad we said yes. They were thicker than Mexican tortillas, but light and slightly spongey and not dry. They were making them fresh inside, I watched them make these. I haven't had tortillas this tasty since we vacationed in Guatemala some years ago. The horchata was good too, not too sweet. Families were coming in, it was a very authentic kind of place and the food had a home-cooked taste. Theres's pre-made food, but you can also order from the menu. We were there on Saturday, around 11:30am, so the food was just being prepared for the day, but I think they cook throughout the day. Must say also a very friendly and gracious kind of place. A really fantastic surprise! Wish this place would open a location in Manhattan.

Lady running the place, so nice and friendly. She suggested the fantastic fresh tortillas which we could watch being hand made.

Quality is still good, price and portion are askew…read more We came here as a quick sandwich bite on our way around the state. Service was good, and the ambiance is still lively. The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy
