James was so quick to respond (even at odd hours when I least expected it!), and his turnaround time is crazy fast. I had 24 8mm tapes to digitize plus a VHS repair, but he went ahead and digitized that one on the house - and all this was complete within a week. Great communication along the way with what step they were on, any issues they've experienced while digitizing, etc. Drop off and pick up was easy and straightforward with Pak Mail. I am so glad I went with a local place like Save Your Tapes instead of other online companies where you'd have to ship off your irreplaceable tapes and trust they'd make it back in one piece to you by the end of the year. Don't hesitate to trust the folks at Save Your Tapes! They will handle everything with the utmost care. read more

I had some really old cassette tapes transferred to cd's. James did a great job. Quality was excellent. I had no clue what was on some of those of tapes. Many surprises came after I listened. He does excellent work. read more

For several reasons, I highly recommend Save Your Tapes to everyone wanting the type of service they provide. Most importantly, they completed the project quickly, affordably, professionally and with excellent customer service. Their website has a clear description of their services and prices, so I could save time. And because their prices are highly competitive, I could save money as well! Their order form was easy to navigate and the instructions were thorough and simple to follow. After submitting the order, I remembered something I wanted to share with them. I sent an email (which is easy to find on their website) and they replied so quickly! They finished the project during an ice storm that left a quarter of a million Austin residents without power. This affected their Pak Mail partner and many roads, but it didn't keep Save Your Tapes from following through with timely delivery of my treasures. It's so rare to work with professionals who are customer-service oriented and who can easily adapt to strange times and situations. Thank you, Save Your Tapes!! read more

It was super easy to get a quote to digitize some Hi 8 tapes we had. The drop off spot was very convenient at Pak Mail. The whole process took about a week. Our tapes were saved in a Dropbox folder for us to save on our own devices. They were very communicative and overall, it's was an easy process. I highly recommend if you'd like to easily view and share old tapes you may have. read more

Great communication and have done an amazing job transferring vhs to dvds. Thank you so much! Definitely recommend!

I wanted to find a place in austin that I could use to convert old home videos from antiquated tapes to digital files, and Save Your Tapes was JUST the place. James and his wife, who run the business together, were a joy to work with. They were great with communicating, making me feel like my tapes were in great hands, and providing me with a product that I'm so satisfied with. I can't wait to give these over to my parents as an anniversary gift, and I'm so grateful to this company for making it possible!! I wouldn't recommend any other tape conversion company in austin over these folks! read more

Fantastic! I highly recommend Save Your Tapes! Easy, fast, convenient, super nice and the end result was perfect!

Fantastic, fast service! I called to ask for a download link for my brother, who is QR code challenged, :) and they sent it straight away.

Did an amazing job converting a mp4 file to a DVD on short notice. Their prices are reasonable and the quality stellar. I will use them again in the future. read more

I took 28 VHS tapes to Save Your Tapes and one week later they had copied them to a thumb drive and a set of DVDs and uploaded them to a cloud account so my family could also download and see family members and friends who are no longer with us and remember what great times we spent together many years ago. I highly recommend them. Unfortunately none of us were professional film makers but enjoyed the ceiling shots as well. LOL. read more

I had a mix of VHS and mini tapes (from old camcorders) that my Dad had hanging around and wasn't sure what was on them. As a surprise for Thanksgiving, I wanted to convert them for my Dad. I found Save Your Tapes online and I couldn't believe how easy it was. I dropped the tapes off on Monday and they were ready on Wednesday! I chose to have them put the content on a flash drive. Before I could even get home, I popped the flash drive into my computer and saw a video of my mom (who passed 4 years ago) singing to my niece - a 22 year old video at my fingertips. What a gift!!! Thank you Save Your Tapes for such a flawless process. Will definitely recommend and use again!! read more

Wonderful service and a quality product delivered quickly. There is no doubt I will use this company for all my future tape conversion needs. Thanks James! read more

You have to do this! I am crying seeing my grandmother from 20 years ago and my children as babies!!

James was my main point of contact throughout the process. His communication was outstanding and the turn around was amazing, considering I gave him well over 37 pieces of media. Speaking of media, I gave him VHS, VHS-C, 8mm and Mini-DV. They transferred all my media onto an external Drive I provided. So easy to work with them and provide options for delivery. The professionalism, the communication and turn around time make them an easy recommendation. read more

My parents 50th wedding anniversary is coming up, and my sister and I decided to have the family VHS recordings transferred to a digital format to gift them. The dates of the tapes ranged from 1981 (over 35 years old!) to 1994, and some were filmed during family vacations around the world in not-the-best weather. We weren't sure if any of these could truly be save. Save Our Tapes went above and beyond the call of duty! They were able to save 98% of the recordings (2% didn't make it due to the original film being damaged from the initial recording) and transfer them onto a USB stick. James was extremely patient and thorough and checked in with me during the process despite having to work through close to 14 hours of recordings. We are very happy with the results and know our parents will be thrilled with the results. read more

I had a treasured VHS tape that needed to be converted to a dvd. The price was incredibly reasonable and included digital copy. They were fast, friendly, and my memories will be preserved for life! I can't recommend highly enough! Will be back for more! read more

Great service. Pickup was easy. Timely service and reasonable price. What more can I say. Results were as advertised.

I used Save Your Tapes to transfer two old videos I had from the 80s and 90s. I was concerned if they would hold up through the process as they had been in storage for YEARS!! Just got them back and they turned out great! So happy, as one video included many family members who had passed away since then. It was very touching to see their smiling faces and hear their voices again. Thanks so much for bringing back some great memories . read more

Did a wonderful job converting my one and only baby cassette tape to dvd. Was a bit worried when I realized it wasn't a store front, and I would just have to leave my tape at this Pak mail place. But everything turned out great. I received emails throughout the whole process on the status of my order, and it only took about two weeks. Would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

James did a great job saving my tapes. He was my POC through the whole process, it was a pleasure to do business with him. I thought I had found all my tapes to convert but I ended up finding a whole other box in the back of the attic. I loved the service so much I'm bringing back this box to convert as well. read more

I needed a VHS tape transferred to a DVD and thumb drive. James did a super job at a very reasonable price for both items. Plus, at my request he mailed the finished products to my house. The service was very easy to use. I dropped the VHS tape at a mail store and from there it was sent to him. The products are top quality!!! Turnaround service was fast along with his communication with me. I will definitely use this service again and strongly recommend it to others. read more

I had 10 8mm video casette tapes from my college days. Save Your Tapes transferred all of them onto DVD with excellent quality sound and image. Not only was the quality of the product excellent but so was the service. The guys at Save Your Tapes kept me informed of my orders status on a regular basis. Be sure to check Groupon for a discount! read more

They did a great job transferring 4 8mm video tapes to DVD and digital video files. The drop off and pick up location is a PakMail location. The person who is contracted with "Save Our Tapes" then comes into the store and picks up the tapes and makes the DVDs. Once they are done they are dropped off at the PakMail location for you to pick up. It was about $20.00 per tape. Make sure you put a title on each tape so they can put chapters headings on the DVD. read more

I had my old Chapel of the Bells wedding tape taking the dust for years. SYT took care of it in a snap. Good work, great price, thank you!!!

I am a procrastinator but am so happy that I finally took in my tapes to Save Your Tapes. The price is much better than other places that I've tried and the quality is GREAT! We have been watching old films since we got them and it's bringing back tons of great memories. The drop off and pick up is extremely easy. Leave yourself some time if you have a lot of films because it could take a few weeks. I will be taking in more films every month until I complete all of my video transfers. The best thing is the quality of the films, they are much better than I though they would be! Happy! read more

Did a great job converting my old VHS and small cassettes to flash drive. Buy your own flash drive though, it is quite unnecessarily pricey on their website. You can get a good one on Amazon. Order was rushed at my request for a small fee. Did not have any issues dropping off or picking up. Satisfied customer! read more

They did a good job of converting my early '90s VHS tape home videos to both DVD and USB flash drive formats. I hadn't viewed my VHS tapes in many years (when our last VCR broke), but I didn't notice any significant degradation in the quality of the digital formats video. James answered all of my questions in a timely manner before I gave him my tapes and kept me updated (via email) during his conversion process. I have a couple of more old VHS tapes containing family-related videos that I'm planning to hand over to Save Your Tapes. I recommend them. read more

Great communication and fast service. My tapes were converted quickly for a reasonable price.

This is a great service. I had VCR tapes with great memories that I just didn't know what to do with. I found Save Your Tapes with a Groupon and couldn't be happier. They were very fast and affordable. They put my tapes on CD's and labeled the CD's. I would highly recommend them. read more
