Cheap? Yes! Quick service? Yes! You get what you pay for! Horrible uncaring service, and rude incompetent employees. They will starch expensive silk, put creases where they do not belong, lose buttons, and absolutely refuse to do anything about it. They will simply refer you to their very large sign (posted behind you, where the average customer will never look) that proclaims their absolute refusal to take responsibility for anything that they will ruin. Also, it is the only cleaner that I have ever used that requires advance payment; which I can only assume that they know people will not pay once they have seen the terrible results. read more

Ive had two shirts ruined in as many months. The first time I gave it a slide. Looked like a burn. Nobody is perfect. Now I have another men's shirt ruined with bright yellow spots. If I could put zero stars (or negative stars) then I would. Multiple family members have had horrible experiences with this place: by not having the clothes ready when promised or somehow "losing them". Most recently my sister was promised that her prom dress would be ready at 4pm on Friday. She showed up and they said "they found another stain so they'd have to do it again." same excuse my cousin was told too. We got home and called to say we needed it first thing on Saturday but they said it wouldn't be available until 4pm. Um no, that's the same day as prom lady. Yes we should've gotten it done earlier but if you advertise same day cleaning... Stick with it! I feel like when they "find more stains" it's their excuse to say "oh we forgot to clean it so let's say we found more stains." And they said they were going to hand wash it but when we called they said it was in the washing machine. Once we took a look at the finished product (got it at 8am on Saturday) we saw that there were creases across the bust that weren't there before. We took it back and the guy working the desk was nice. He tried helping out to see what he could do. He went to get the manager and she came out. This lady was so set that it wasn't her that did it because she didn't do any stitching. We kept repeating that we know this because we only took it there for dry cleaning. She got snappy and said "well take it back to the manufacturers." Horrible customer service. I guess you get what you pay for. Reading all the other reviews... Idk how they maintain their business. With the attitude we got... We are NEVER coming back or recommending this place. Let me start off by saying that Dropped off a pair of slacks on 8/2/19 at 9:45am to be ready by 4:00pm later that day. Paid $3.50 for dry clean service and received my ticket stub. I came back about 10 minutes before closing to pick up my slacks. Apparently the person who originally checked in my slacks, didn't make note of the rack where my slacks would be located at. Their was two employees looking at each individual piece of clothing on three racks, which was very time consuming. The employee who was helping me apologized and said he would leave a note for the opening crew to look for my slacks when they open in the morning. Someone would call me shortly after. Things happen, so it wasn't the end of the world, even though I needed my slacks for the next day, and I wasted time and gas coming down there for no reason. I left there around 7:25pm. What happened next is why I'm writing this review. I called the cleaners at 9:30am from my job. The person who answered saw the note that was left on the register, but nobody took the time to look for my slacks until I called. She told me someone would call me shortly after my slacks were located. I noticed it was around 1:30pm and I hadn't received a call. I called again, and this time my slacks were located, but nobody bothered to call me. Not to mention no apologies. Again, I'm irritated, but not enough to warrant a negative review. What does warrant a negative review, is my when my wife went in to pick up my slacks. She was being harassed for some reason about not paying. First of all, everybody pays at the time of drop off. I've gone here for years. Second, even if by chance if I didn't pay, the least you could do is waive the $3.50 for my wasted time, inconvenience, and wasted gas. I'm in the people business too. There's a right way of handling a situation, and there's the "Sav-On" way. read more

I took three tablecloths here and when I brought them home one was covered in dog hair and another had a new stain. I took it back and they asked if it had dog hair before I brought it in. I said no and the other white tablecloth was fine. My husband just picked it up from a do over and it is awful. read more

Ruined a brand new jacket. Triple checked the cleaning instruction label with the gentleman at the counter. Then when read to pick up, there is a large burn mark and multiple stains and I am told that the jacket is apparently not made for dry cleaning despite the label NOT mentioning any restrictions. No refund or compensation offered. No offer to try and fix burn/stains. Will never return to this business. Please stay away! read more

I have been using this dry cleaning for SEVERAL years now and have never had reason to complain! I collect handmade, often antique garments and was leary of having them cleaned here, but I have had no problems at all. Another discount cleaner could not meet request for no pressing because their cleaning was done off-site. Additionally, this PG cleaners used such harsh detergents that all the seams disintegrated on one of my pieces and I will have to pay nearly $100.00 to have it re-sewn! So much for saving money! I have always had EXCELLENT treatment from all the employees even after my favorite cashier went to work for Nob Hill in PG! I'm told their formerly awful tailor no longer works here, and their new manager has made great improvements. read more

The problem with Yelp is when s business is sold and has awful reviews Yelp offers no help and won't remove them when a new owner takes over. The save on is awesome with a wonderful, long term staff. Yelp is not all that helpful. People usually only write when they have a negative statement. read more

This place has horrible customer service! I paid $20 to have a rug cleaned on site. First I was told that the owner would call me if it had to be sent out. I never got a call and went in a few days later to check on the rug - it hadn't been cleaned. I asked if someone could call me about the rug. No call came, of course. I went in a few days later to check on the rug - and it was wrapped in plastic. I was told it was clean and after checking on one corner which did look ok...I paid for the cleaning. Big mistake! I took the rug home to discover it did not look like it had been cleaned at all and still had a large area of gray carpet (it's an ivory rug so the dirt is very apparent) as well as hairs all over the rug! I went in to personally talk to them about the rug AGAIN and also lifted the heavy thing into my car AGAIN to show it to them. I had a polite but somehow sweetly condescending employee tell me that for $20, they don't pre-treat the stains (I was aware of that, I consider all-over dirt is different than a stain) and that she would have the owner call me to "explain how things work around here." Of course he never called back, and when I called today they put me on hold for minutes! I hung up and tried calling back. The line was busy for at least 10 minutes before I gave up. I feel that I've really been mistreated by this business. If I don't get a response soon, I'm thinking of calling the Better Business Bureau and complaining. read more

My wedding dress just got ruined at save on cleaners in sand city next to Costco. I payed $100 to have it cleaned it came out a yellow discovered color, ripped and still dirty from the bottom. They were not willing to refund my money. The manager was very unprofessional he even called my dad crazy for asking for a refund. Never go there, they will ruin your clothes! read more

When a coupon for this place landed on my doorstep, I decided to ignore the awful reviews and give the place a try. After all, it's just a dry cleaners. If I only have shirts, how bad can it be? It started out well, when a pleasant young man helped me and took my pre-pay money. I asked if my tunic qualified as a "shirt," thus qualifying for the shirt rate. Straight sleeves, a minimum of tucks or seams, no cuffs or bands at the bottoms, similar to typical men's long-sleeved shirts in its light cotton-blend fabric. He thought about it and said yes, I would be charged the shirt rate. So far, so good. When I turned up a week later, a different man helped me. When my shirts were brought out, I noticed that the tunic was full of wrinkles. Before I could say anything, the man announced that I owed an additional $1.35 because the tunic did not qualify as a shirt. I replied that I had asked about that before I pre-paid, and had been told the tunic would be the shirt rate. He: "The person who helped you was a new employee and hadn't been told that a tunic would cost more." Me: "Well, that's not my fault. The store should stand by what it tells its customers." Since I had pre-paid, I hadn't bothered to bring my wallet, so the man told me I would be charged an extra $1.35 when I came in again. Me: "Do you really think I'll come in again?" He: "That's up to you." So that's my experience as a first-time customer at the nearest dry cleaner to my home. So I will continue to use the cleaners near my work place, 20 miles away. Ironically, that place is also called Save On Cleaners and charges a little more but has earned my loyalty with good business practices and helping me save money several times by telling me certain garments would last longer if washed in the machine at home. Talk about terrible customer service!!!! Each time I have gone in, there's been some sort of problem. The last one being I sent two uniforms in to get starched. I dropped them off early enough for them to get done in time. I go to pick them up and neither one is starched. Instead, they are wrinkly as hell. They still told me I had to pay for it even when they didn't do what I asked. They didn't even apologize or seemed like they care. I then call the manager a few days later, Joseph, he seems like he has no clue as to what to say and doesn't apologize either. I usually go to 1 Hour Martinizing on lighthouse but was on this side of town so i dropped my son's baptism suit to be cleaned here and no good! They didnt starch it even though I asked for it and the counter persons who helped me when I dropped it off was rude and the two younger gals who were there when i wen tto pick it up were even worse. They saw me walk up to the counter but had to finish up their convo about how there weekedn was before they helped me. Not sure about their dry cleaning skills because i only took my clothing there for alterations, but today was the LAST day that i will be taking anything there. For years i have taken my clothes there for alterations. This year i had already taken 3 pairs of pants to be hemmed/shortened. Last week, one of the hems came out on a pair of pants i took in to have done in February. The manager wanted to charge me after admitting to me that they had a new seamstress that was BETTER than the previous one that had done the work on my pants. I told him i would take my business elsewhere and that it was a shame because i was a good customer that came in often. I told him i wanted to speak with his boss and he told me she would be in a few weeks from now and that she rarely comes in....Maybe she needs to come in more so that they can focus on customer service! They lost clothing of ours twice, once it was found, second time is still hasn't turned up, had them sew a new patch on my husband uniform and asked to have the old one kept, they didn't keep the old patch and only did half of what they were supposed to, no intention to fix it either. They lost several of my items and refuse to pay what the item is worth because "they" don't think it's worth that much. Very irresponsible and bad service. They lied to me and said they would look for my items and contact me. No one ever contacted me. I had to go there every other day in between jobs and demand that something be done. I still haven't got reimbursed for my lost items. I will NEVER bring my clothes there again. I've witnessed some of the workers just give customers items without showing the ticket. I went to this cleaners to get my prom dress cleaned to get stains out. They promised me that the dress would be done the next day at 4. They also said they would hand wash the dress due to the material. I came in the next day to pick up my dress and they could not find it and said I would have to get it tomorrow. I told them I had prom the next day and they said oh well you get it whenever it's ready. I picked up the dress the next day early at 8 o'clock. I took it home and tried it on and they messed up my whole dress the boob area was creased and the stuffing was loose. They stretched my dress so it didn't fit anymore. I took my dress back into the dry cleaners and the guy at the desk was like oh dang we did that to your dress I will fix it. He went to go get the manager and she started yelling at me and my mom saying they didn't do anything about it. She said that it came like that and the consumers did it. She didn't try to fix the problem just kept yelling it wasn't her. So I walked out. That are very rude and bad dry cleaning. Don't go there if you want your clothes looking good. read more

The owner Stuart was the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with . I brought in a sheepskin rug that they charged $50.00 to clean. it has one pet urine stain on it. I pointed it out to them; they said no problem. When I went to pick it up, not only was the stain still there but there was a bit hold in the rug, about 3 inches diameter. After speaking to a nice young man who didn't have the authority to do anything about it, I finally was told by him that if I cam in two days from then, betwneen 8-10am I could speak to the owner. Gee, what a privilege. I went in and spoke to him. He tried to get out of it, said it wasn't there problem, offered me credit all of which I turned down. I told him I wasn't asking the the $100 it cost me to purchase the rug but rather I wanted my money returned. He offered to reimburse me half; I stood my ground. He finally paid me the $50 back but didnt' look at me. He pulled the money very defiantly from his cash register, slammed it on the counter and said very sarcastically, "have a great day!". I wouldn't go back there if they charged 75% off. Go to Seaside Cleaners. They charged no more than Economy and were very nice. read more

This is about the third time that I have picked up my cleaning and it reeks with a chemical smell. I mentioned this to the owner in the past who said they were "adjusting" the chemicals. It does not happen all the time and I'm not being over sensitive. My clothes are outside airing out which helps sometimes. The first time it happened, I did not air out my clothes and actually got a rash. The manager told me to tell them to tell the clerks to make a note to make sure they did not have a strong chemical smell. I should not have to do this. I decided to go somewhere else. read more

Have only been using this cleaners for 2 months but will never use again. The manager, Eddie, was nice enough and very professional, and their prices beat other Laundry/Dry Cleaners however, the mistakes made were enough for me to take my business elsewhere. They laundered two pants that I specifically asked to be dry cleaned, which shrunk, got a blob of ink on another pair of pants that didn't come out, melted buttons on a shirt. My wife and I maintain a wardrobe of both civilian and military professional clothing and uniforms, and used Save On Cleaners exclusively while stationed in the Monterey Bay Area. Their service was always prompt, and bedding items and articles of clothing were always cleaned very well and to our specification. The affordability, speed, and service warrant a full 5-stars for the business, but the owner and manager Lonnie went the extra mile for us when we received short-notice orders to move and forgot that we had left an expensive goose down comforter there for cleaning. Instead of donating our abandoned comforter and calling it a day, she took the time and trouble to track us down on the other side of the country and pack and mail it to our new duty station. Lonnie's awareness of how military families can find themselves moved around without much notice and her perseverance in finding us really sets her and Save On Cleaners apart, and I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Just horrible. Rather than cleaning garments, they damage them. I have had more clothes rendered unwearable AFTER being "cleaned" by Save On than before. I have had them not get stains out, have had clothes come home with new stains and worst of all, they loose important parts of clothes. They lost the matching belt to a treasured wrap sweater. My floor model wedding dress had been cleaned in San Jose by some dry cleaner that the dress maker associates with. I hadn't noticed the large spot on the hip when I tried it on in the dark shop. My experience with the evening crew had been great. The young men there are polite, pleasant and courteous. I once saw a customer yelling and screaming at one of the young men who works the evening shift. He was so POLITE and courteous and handled the angry customer so well. I WISH I could say that about the owner/ manager, she is rude, offensive and lacks customer service.. I went in there last week to pick up my clothes. The line was all to way to the outside. They had only ONE clerk helping, she was rude, constant interruption by other employees from the back, using her cash register. She was interrupted 3 times while she was looking up my information which was very aggravating. Especially when there were 2 other cash registers that were not being used. What really deterred me away from their business was this episode, while waiting to pick up my dry clean, A customer was there before 4 to pick up her dry clean, the clerk goes to the back to get a manager . The manager, I think her name was Lonie, came out there charging at me like a Mad Dog, pointing the receipt at me and addressing me, not even acknowledging that I WAS NOT the one who was complaining.. I was so aggravated by lack of her professionalism and responded " why are you addressing me," her respond so rudely was " I guess I will talk to someone else", no apologies for her mistake and abrupt behavior. The proper way to handle the customer would have been to ask her clerk who was complaining and handle the matter with more care.and class. I found her defensive and rude. Dry cleaners are dime a dozen and business owners should be grateful for every business that comes their way. The quality of their cleaning is poor for the most part. Most of my clothes always have the same stains on them. They have ruined two of my professional shirts. Their tailoring cost is TOO high BUT they do a GREAT job with tailoring. I think it comes down to giving your business to someone who appreciates you and the owners at Save on Cleaners in Sand City LACK the customer service and appreciation. I would give the evening crew a 5 star and the owner and the day crew who also lack customer service a ZERO rating. I have started using Master cleaners. Their rates are higher but then again my clothes are a lot cleaner and the owners are very nice, courteous and grateful to have me as a customer. read more

I just want to commend the save on cleaners in sand city, unlike the one in Salinas the customer service is so much better. They always are polite and respectful. This company reminds me of that age old saying, "You get what you pay for". Their inexpensive cash-only discounted services will cost you in pain and agony. I've reluctantly used this company for the past year out of sheer convenience. Their lack luster job at dry cleaning seemed worth the measly price they charged. Until today....just picked up my shirts and noticed random stains on one of the shirts that was brand new when I gave it to them to dry clean. Those stains are located in an a very visible area on the front of the shirt and they certainly were there when I turned in my clothes. To make matters worse, they didn't remove the store crease in the two brand new ties I gave them for pressing, and instead gave them back to me folded on a cardboard carrier attached to a wire hanger, which in turn caused yet another crease. I've always had an issue with their rude customer service when you drop-off or pick-up your clothes, but this last experience is unacceptable and the reason why I WILL NEVER RETURN. If you have cheap disposable clothes and want to launder your items the cheapest way possible, go ahead and bring them to Save On Cleaners.... For the rest of us, stay away from them. What you "Save On" your dry cleaning (or lack there of), you'll spend in being dissatisfaction and ripped off. I've been dry cleaning my clothes since 2004 and NEVER experienced such disregard for business, care and customer service as I did with Save On Cleaners. read more
