Not the cheapest but it wasn't good either. The installer never calibrate the sensor around the windshield and of course the installer also left a jelly residue on the windshield area. I called and complain but the guy didn't seems to cared since his guy already got paid. read more

The guy that works in this place is rude. So I got my window smashed and the guy told me on the phone the price and everything and then to text him my address to he can come to my house to fix it, and then I first texted back asking what kind of glass is it and how does it compare to my previous window's glass. He then doesn't respond. The next day I call in asking further inquiring and then he says they don't have the glass and just hangs up on me. I went with these guys for my old Mercedes restoration/resto-mod project that I have a lot of sentimental valve. I had them replaced 3 windows: front windshield, rear windshield, left front Windows. I chatted with both Omar and Roger with regards of the job, and they mention that they have experiences working my car. I told them that this is a restoration project and I want things to be done correctly. I also mention that I want OEM or better with new seals and gaskets, while expressing that the car is old and I understand the parts are no longer produced or available. I got quoted for $1300 for the work. I'll start with the good. They did excellent job in the front windshield and Right Left. The front left was a simple trade off with an OEM glass I have. The front windshield is where I had issues. These guys found that the last shop that replaced the windshield before my ownership did a horrible job and never primer/seal the windshield correctly. Ending up rusting my windshield frame to the point that was the source of the leaks. These guys was able to at least reseal it to hold me over till I get to restoring the body of the car. Both the front glasses look good enough for factory. The main problem I have with the shop was the care and workmanship of the rear windshield. The glass is not installed flushed, and you can see the edges of the glass about quarter inch higher when it used to be. Creating wind noises that I never had in this car. They did not install the glass trim correctly, which may have broken it. I haven't got a chance to confirmed this nor attempted fixt it; since I'm still waiting for the 48hr time frame for all the seal to cure. This is a big issue with the given nature of the car's age, finding parts will be difficult and/or not possible. I also see a couple spot that the sealant was not cleaned. One on the car's body and one under the trim part. They also did not re-install my old gasket and seal correctly under the glass. I mentioned the rear glass issue with one of the workers, and he kinda buzzed me off and say it how it suppose to be..... I should also mention that when I first drop off the car with the shop, one of the guys says if I want one of my quarter panel trim to be fix with their sealant. I told him "no, I want to get everything fixed and done correctly, I'm trying to restore the car." This makes me very iffy on how they remounted my roof/front windshield enforcement/trim. Overall I do not recommend this shop, I mentioned quite a few times that I'm trying to restore the car and I want everything to be done correctly and it feels like they gave up on my car on the rear glass. read more

4/12/24, Windshield was replaced, but not with a Jeep windshield. If you drive a Jeep you know that the windshields have a little hidden decal placed in an unsuspecting location around the perimeter of the windshield. It was replaced though it wasn't replaced with a Jeep windshield. Had I been allowed to choose a Jeep Windshield, we'd be would have gone with that instead. Booo! Also, my vehicle was not vacuumed as stated on the receipt. The receipt even noted: Your vehicle has been vacuumed. I was excited until I checked and it hadn't been touched. Terrible service. Got a windshield replacement, only to come out of it with a scratched and gashed molding (see 1st picture). The "new" windshield had a flaw on the driver's side and excessive glue coming from the inside. Called for another replacement. This time, the upper molding got damaged as the same technician (Omar) placed it on the ground without protection. There were scratches on the edge that he said can be fixed by painting the edge alone. He ended up having the whole thing painted and it came back very flawed (uneven paint, missing seal/strip, peeling coating). The molding would not close properly against the car itself (see 2nd picture). After addressing these issues to Omar, all he could tell me was, "It's fine". No it's NOT fine. The molding he damaged in the first place doesn't lock in place as the other side of my car. Anna the owner said there's nothing more they can do either. As a business owner, you should be able to provide a service that satisfies the customer and not have them leave with more damages than they came in with. That's something you CAN do! I demand proper replacements for BOTH my black and silver moldings. Otherwise I'll be compelled to take legal action. PLEASE FIX THIS! read more

Nothing like the feeling of anger and dread when your car gets broken into. You're pissed, you wonder what was swiped, and you're left with a missing window and a mess to clean up. It's a great time to be an auto glass shop owner these days with all the break-ins happening in the Bay. It's sad and sucks, but the new reality is that many of us will be victims one day. I had the pleasure of having my front passenger window smashed recently - this was my first break-in ever. I knew my deductible was high and glass is relatively cheap, so I knew I was going out of pocket for this. Being the cheap-ass that I am (especially feeling a bit sour having been the victim of a likely smash and grab crime ring), I called up 5 or 6 decently rated auto glass shops in my area to get price quotes. I was a little confused when I called Save Autoglass as it sounded like they were not inside a shop - outdoors and/or driving. Realized they're a mobile service and after a few more calls with other shops, turns out they were also the cheapest! It gave me some sense of solace after a crappy event that I found an affordable place plus the bonus convenience of them coming to me. If anyone is curious - the highest priced shop quoted me $95 more than Save Autoglass. I made an appointment for the same day - they gave me a 2 hour time window. While I wasn't present for the service, they arrived on time. Omar and another guy came to help. They helped vacuum up the glass around the car and replaced my window - all in about 30 minutes. They do need to remove your inside door panel (assuming side window replacement), so I'd recommend cleaning out anything from the door. When I came home to check the window - it worked just fine. Tested it and no screeching (something I was a little worried about). They do offer a lifetime labor guarantee. Save Autoglass is a budget friendly, no frills types of service and they work quick. I'll likely use them again the next time I need service (hopefully I won't!). Tips: -Even though these auto glass shops will do a rough clean up of the glass, you definitely want to do your own detailed cleaning (or take to a pro). A smashed window will spit shards/micro-shards of glass everywhere and takes time to thoroughly clean. After my incident, I spent almost 2 hours just picking up the larger leftover shards, wiping down the surface, and then vacuuming my car thoroughly. Even after my detailed clean, I managed to prick my finger on a tiny pebble sized piece of glass days later. You'll likely find bits and pieces of glass every now and then. Be careful. -If you're not in a rush to replace the window, you might want to look into buying an original/OEM window and then paying the labor for the install (or DIY). I checked eBay and found a used OEM window for $30 shipped. Reason for this is that some aftermarket replacements will be different in thickness/quality. Since you can often get a used original/genuine window for cheap - it might be good for the car in the long run. That said, it might not be worth the hassle for most people. read more
