I really hate driving 880, this morning I was behind one of those fancy tech worker busses when a rock flew out and hit my windshield on my brand new car! As soon as I had a chance I check my windshield and I had a very small, what I thought was a chip on it. So I reached out to near by glass places for a quote to have it repaired. Express Auto responses to me within 10 minutes and had an availability during the lunch hour which was very convenient. I stopped by during my lunch break, they came and looked at my car and said that it is not a chip and just a small scratch. And explained the chip fixing process, since this was just a small scratch I should not have to worry about it. They did not try to up sell me on anything or even charge me anything to look at it. I have a 2005 Honda accord and I needed to replace my windshield after a giant rock smashed it on 880. Damn 880! I made an appointment the day prior and everything pulled through. I came on a Saturday at 9am. It took them about 30 minutes to replace my windshield so in the meantime, I walked to a nearby Starbucks. When I came back, I was happy with the results. They advised me to leave my windshield alone - meaning no washing the car or removing the blue painters tape. I did exactly that and it's been a few months with my windshield perfectly in place. read more

I came across this hidden automotive glass gem by accident. I had actually scheduled an appointment down the street from this place, but as I was getting ready to leave the house, I misplaced my keys!! I had to be there by 4:30. When I called to let them know I was running late, I stumbled across the phone number to this place. They stayed open until 5, lucky for me, and quoted me a cheaper price than the other place by $20. When I drove up, the owner, Amad, a total sweetheart by the way, helped me out of my car and offered me a seat in the heated office. It was rather chilly outside. Well, no available mobile appointments for two weeks, and if I want to go in person, Redwood City was the closest available location. But, their quote of $500 was ridiculous. So, I looked online and found Express Auto Glass. What a great find! I took my 4runner here yesterday. I was quoted $130 for a rear window by Amad. They sent me a txt pic saying they have a new window in stock. I got there and it looked used. I did not call anywhere else for a quote and just wanted this repaired. I called this place due to the good reviews I read on yelp. Most of all it was next to my home and it was convenience. Since I am booked on time I just told them to go ahead with the repair. They then ripped out my rear window, using a razor blade. This is standard procedure. However I later on found that THEY CARELESSLY SCRATCHED MY PAINT WITH THE RAZOR AROUND THE WINDOW. If this was my other car (newer) I would be furious. However my 4runner is not a beater either. So after they removed the old glass I was told the glass did not fit. They got another glass and I find out after they got the new glass that it would cost 30 bucks more? Why since they are both new right? At this point I noticed the scratches on my truck. I told them to stop the work. I just wanted to get out of there. I use to manage auto repair shops and dealerships for 10 years. Nothing about this place is professional.They don't even have the right tools for the job. Ill take my truck to a professional shop, which cost 40 bucks more from their SECOND quote. Even if its out of my way. I would hate to think what additional damage may have occurred if they completed the job. See the pictures and judge for yourself. Ignore the tape residue around the scratches. Update to your response: If you cant fess up to the scratches you put on. I can post pictures prior to bring it into your shop since I took pictures for my insurance company. I'm providing a honest feedback. You said the glass is from ATI? You told me it was Pilkington brand. Sound like you are running your business with lies. Most places are mobile services and charge $70+ to seal the crack. I called Amad and he assured me that I could be seen that day. I drove over and he came out immediately and started helping me. I had spoken to the dealership service department earlier and they had mentioned it would costs $900 to order my windshield because it was a brand new car and currently no aftermarket products were available. I was a loyal customer to Express Auto Glass until my most recent visit. My car window got broken into the other weekend and I came here to get it fixed as I usually do (I have the worst luck with getting my car window broken into. This will be my third and last window repair at this location). I took the blue tape off my car the next day as instructed and an ENTIRE STRIP OF PAINT CAME OFF. I came back to Express Auto Glass and the owner blamed it on the manufacturer, saying the manufacturer did a bad paint job, and that blue tape is not suppose to strip paint because it's "painters tape". While this may or may not be true, I received no type of compensation or empathy for what happened to my car as a result of THEIR services. All I know is I came to this shop to get my broken car window fixed and I left with an even bigger problem. I asked if there was anything they could do, he replied no and that it would cost $400-$500 to get it repainted. I could not believe it. My limo passenger side wind shield stop rolling up and it was cold. I had to pick up my client from the airport on Sunday but most of the auto glass repair shops were closed. I told the person about my problem and he told me even though he is off but he at least can roll up the windshield till the next day to order the part to fix the problem. My daughter was visiting from LA and had her car broken into and the back quarter panel glass broken .. she certainly did not want to drive back to LA with the glass missing. I called Safelite and spoke to someone in the mid-west. I prefer to deal locally so I looked on YELP and the reviews for Express Auto Glass were totally correct. They ordered the glass from a dealer. and Had it the next day. They gave her an appointment and were very prompt. Efficient and the cost was 1/2 of what Safelite was going to charge. Did I forget to mention that Safelite was also unable to give her an appointment until the next week!! Some bad guy took a bat to my windshield and totally shattered it. I had to file a police report to try to get the guy, and I knew it was going to be hard to ever get him to pay for it. So the busted window ended up being on me pay for it, and I checked all over Hayward for quotes to fix it. I came here on a Saturday to replace my windshield as I had a few cracks that spread from a tiny chip. My husband called around to see who was available at a convenient time for us and who had decent prices. Our search came to this place! Service was prompt and quick. It took about 45 min for the whole thing which was expected. We waited in the waiting room with a written sign for access to their wifi (which is a definite plus!). I waited to make sure everything was sealed and good with my windshield before writing this review. No air pockets, nothing weird, everything looks amazing and I'm glad I can see through a clear glass again! I'm so happy! Prices seriously can't be beat!
