The only reason for four stars instead of five is the parking lot. Like many Trader Joe's locations, it can be a bit of a challenge, especially during busy times. Fortunately, I lucked out on both of my recent visits and found spots without much trouble. Overall, another great Trader Joe's location. I'd watch Fox 29 Buffalo often because the best cartoons were on this channel after school and on Saturday mornings. I'd sing along to the jingle while watching the commercial. Well, the jingle and commercial are now a fond memory, except when I sing it. However, Tops Friendly Markets are still alive and kicking! A couple of weekends ago, after having been in Niagara Falls for a couple of hours, I needed to get grocery items before checking in to the hotel. I saw this Tops as I was heading over to Duff's for a late lunch. It was the perfect place to shop. There is a lot of parking in this lot. This Tops also has a gas station across from the store. I parked and walked in to check out the store. This supermarket has a recycle centre to the right of the main entrance. It's good to know. I grabbed a shopping cart and began to browse. It's a cool supermarket. Items are nicely stacked. It's clean. I saw vending machines that sold lottery tickets. Cool and different! I needed some fruit. I found pineapple chunks that were discounted. Perfect! The produce section was awesome. The fruit and veggies were fresh and in great condition. I was happy with getting a couple of lemons. I got some pop. It had a good deal on both bottled and canned pop. I was happy that I drove across the border. I knew that I couldn't drink it all, so I took some home. I hadn's seen RC Cola in eons! The beverages at this store are great. You can find everything from Canada Dry cherry ginger ale, to Snapple in both regular and sugar-free versions. Yay! I liked the jam and honey sections. The former had Smuckers sugar-free jam varieties in squeeze bottles. I was impressed. The latter had raw sugar that I like in squeeze bottles, too. I was a happy camper. I decided to use the self-checkout kiosk. Mine wasn't co-operating for some reason. An attentive male staffer came over to help out without my even saying a word. He entered a special code and the kiosk worked. Service was that prompt at a self-checkout area. Wow! The kiosks accept credit and debit cards. It liked my Canadian credit card. I paid, bagged my items with my own reusable bags, and left. It's a great grocery store. If I had stayed longer in Niagara Falls, I would have hauled more items or had revisited this store. (143)

I did not snap any pictures during our last shopping spree at TOPs, but will make a special visit to snap a few.... If I were a health inspector and saw the conditions and "cleanliness" of the men's WC, I'd shut down the whole store! I'd love to see someone's opinion of the women's restroom. Is it as disgusting as the men's? WHY? Because if they forget about cleaning the men's room, then what other areas of the store are they forgetting? Plus the little table/chair area so fish fry-clients can dine on their fish fry which we often do; that area is seldomly cleaned nor tidied up! The tables are always filthy, and when we dine there, it requires MORE than a few of the napkins dampened to clean off the table top AND chairs, not to mention we are sitting on the chair we cleaned BUT our shoes bottoms are on filthy floors, that we need to clean before getting into our vehicle! Come on TOPs; if you clean and change the makeup of the stores, but overall the attitude of the place hasn't changed at all, then it's still the slum it was before, but with a paint-job on top that is already showing the dried old paint below..... It is very big inside and carries all your standard Indian spices, necessities and more! They have a huge selection of 'Namkeen' - Indian savoury snacks as well as freshly made roti and thepla (Gujarati spiced flatbread) which you can purchase! They even have spiced masala chai as well as henna cones! Very random find but worth checking out!
