Small pizza with Meatball and Onion

Normally I like Sava's & do the Too Good To Go to combat food waste! But ordering off the menu... a Large Chicken Bacon Pizza was $22 and 10 wings were $15... $40 for this order is insane. The pizza is cold and the bottom is burnt! Very disappointed, especially since it's so close. Guess there's a reason why there's three pizza places on the same block... Nearby competitor Angelina's is much cheaper and has decent food. Know for a fact the wings are cheaper... not happy

The buffalo chicken pizza and wings were very good. The restaurant had a very relaxed and chill vibe. The pizza was fresh and the staff was nice. My kids really enjoyed fries.

    Hair cooked in my shrimp

I ordered coconut shrimp (5) for $10.95 nobody in the store we're wearing hair or beard nets. they hand me my shrimp in 5 mins..it was a hair on my container, I opened it and it was a hair cooked in my shrimp!!! I took it back and they recooked my shrimp, probably the same shrimp because they were horribly hard and burnt that I threw them out!! I'm calling L and I, I don't play around with food

It's so sad this is one of the only places in the area to get brunch. It probably has the worst service I've ever encountered. On average a meal here takes about two hours. There's never a wait to be seated and most tables are empty. Actually I've never seen someone at the bar. Even at nights, the wait to get a slice of pizza warmed up is insane. It can't take that long! And it's not like I had one bad encounter. Ive come here several times over the years at Drexel and it's never gotten better. The food is subpar, the price is average and good luck hunting your waiter down. You can just do better elsewhere. Even if you're only coming here for alcohol- walk two doors down. Mad Greeks is cheaper.

    Baked ziti

Food was delicious. We got a baked ziti and a honey chicken wrap which came with fries. Both meals were big portions and tasted great. Waitress was friendly and helpful. The place looks nice and cozy.

    Penne a La Vodka

I've only had one thing here (way pre covid) so this review is based off of that! I go to Drexel University and upon arrival I heard that Savas was basically a staple. I never managed to make it there in the late night times, but I did order once for dinner! Everyone I know told me to try their Penne Alla Vodka, so I knew I had to! It was very delicious and I can see where the hype comes from! Unfortunately, I'm not at school due to COVID, but as soon as I get back another trip is in my future!

Review based on ordering during COVID-19. Easily one of the best delivery experiences I've had so far. The food was picked up, I was notified they received and sent out my order and everything was delivered in about 30 minutes. I understand things are difficult during this time - so kudos. The eats were awesome - we got a buffalo chicken salad and the grilled chicken souvlaki platter. Everything was freshly warm and the buffalo chicken salad was real grilled chicken in perfect tangy buffalo sauce. Definitely more tangy than spicy but still very good. Chicken souvlaki platter was also delicious.

Slightly expensive for what it is, but pretty average pizza place. The cheese fries with bbq were pretty good, and the hand cut fries are really great here. The price of the Stromboli was a bit high for the size. We also got a half-bbq chicken, half buffalo chicken pizza and that was covered in lots of toppings, but nothing particularly amazing about the flavor. I've had the wings here in the past and they were very tasty. Fries have always been amazing!

Large Stromboli with a knife for comparison- dimensions probably 18x5 inches
    Alfred G.

Located near Drexel, Savas serves pizza, Stromboli, pasta, wraps, and paninis. I had a large Stromboli and wow, was it large. Like I usually eat a lot and o couldn't finish this Stromboli, it must have been at least 18 inches long and 5 inches wide- you could feed 2-4 people with it. The chicken was kind of dry and uneventful, but the meat lovers one was much better- would definitely recommend that instead. The best thing I had there by far though was the fries. They are the kind of soggy kind- if you are a crispy fry elitist you will probably hate these, but I'm more of a soggy type person myself so I LOVED them and would definitely recommend it. Pro tip- get the garlic white sauce to dip your Stromboli/pizza/fries in. Overall, seating was plentiful but the service was kind of slow- we had to keep asking for water and didn't have enough utensils. Also they ran out of garlic sauce.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)
