Straight off the plane, we were looking for a place to eat and found this gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on the patio. Service was prompt and courteous with friendly staff. Sandwich and shrimp skewers were fresh and flavourful. The loose leaf herbal tea made a very unique accompaniment to our lunch. We'll be back when back in Winnipeg if we can fit it in. read more

Went here on a whim because our original dinner plans fell through. I was a tad hesitant as I was not familiar with the place and hadn't heard much in it's regard. I was so impressed by everything that we ordered that I can definitely see making this a regular spot for a casual lunch/dinner outing. First of all, I am a tea fiend, and the selection of loose teas that they offer here blew me away! I chose one of the fruitier green varieties and was very satisfied. My friend and I each ordered a bowl of soup (broccoli cheddar and chicken gumbo), and split a chicken quesadilla. It was the perfect early dinner. But what is any dinner without... DESSERT! Saucers has a great dessert display case showcasing about ten different dessert options (many celiac-friendly). We opted to share the Tia Maria to finish off the meal, and let me tell you... Best decision of the night. It was absolutely to DIE for; but then again, who doesn't love a dessert consisting of chocolate chip cookies and whipped cream?! Our entire meal for 2 came t just over $38, so definitely a reasonably priced meal, and exceptional value for the quality of food we had. This is a little gem that the world needs to know about. Saucers has managed to defy the old adage don't mess with a good thing. A refreshed interior, menu update and launch of a loose leaf tea bar has infused the space with new charm and sophistication. Hearty house made soups satisfy alone or pair perfectly with any of their famous sandwiches. Personal favorites include the oven roast turkey with cranberry chutney and the pulled bison. Pizza, whose toppings look good on paper, are a let down if only for the cardboard cutout, pre-fab frozen crusts. The menu also features and handful of pastas and proteins and they typically offer occasional specials. My addiction to their wonderful food and cosy atmosphere is what made me apply to work there and I have been, quite happily, for almost three years. The key to the Saucers menu is good food made with fresh ingredients. The peanut thai wrap is rapidly becoming infamous in the city along with the asparagus melts, santa fe pizzas and other delicious meals. The dessert window is nothing to sneeze at either: a wide variety of tortes, pies and cheesecakes will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. Saucers also offers a full tea bar with over 31 varieties of loose leaf tea ranging from wellness to roobois to green tea. You are sure to find a flavor to tempt your palette. Went back today, had the California ciabatta and it was just as good as last time but I found out they don't make their own desserts and the people working weren't too knowledgable about the components of two desserts. They didn't know the filling or the icing! read more

Visiting here from the states I decided to try a lesser known place for lunch and happened upon Saucer's Cafe. It was a delightful surprise to find in a nice, quieter part of Winnipeg. I ordered the pulled Bison sandwich and it definitely did not disappoint. Even though, I should have asked for a little more chipotle mayonnaise due to it being a little drier than I like, it had great flavor and was well portioned. Having read about how great their teas were, I decided to try the raspberry renegade iced tea. It was a little strong for me but overall had a great taste and was refreshing. You just won't be needing refills most likely. Overall, a nice change of pace from the chain restaurants and worth another visit. read more

I had lunch there today. First of all I had to move tables because the waitress made a mistake. Then, they forgot the water. When I got my sandwich I tasted it. It was good and I told the waitress that. Afterward, I tasted the tomato soup. It tasted like tomato juice with some bad tasting spices added. I told her that I didn't like the soup. She said, "oh." and walked away. I paid $18.65 for a sandwich, a cup of coffee, and some lousy soup. I'll never go back there. read more

Love this place! The menu is short but all very good particularly the rice bowls with the chicken or salmon, the wonderful peas and terrific peanut sauce. Wine was great, service as always was top notch, atmosphere and seat location were also wonderful. And then we come to the mouth watering desserts, always have trouble deciding because they all look good so the 4 of us ordered different servings so we could taste more options. The service was really nice and warm and the food was delicoious. The cakes were soooooo good! We tried 4 different kind (1 per person) and they were all awsome. The tea was spicy and tasty, very flavor full, made from loose leafs. Its is a nice little place to discover. read more

Went for lunch. Very busy, but worth the wait. Had the grilled turkey bacon avocado wrap with a cheddar broccoli soup. One of the best lunches I've ever had. Highly recommend. I also had the Cheeky Devil loose tea and was very happy with it. read more

I went in with my cousin for some coffee and tea in the morning, thinking this was a cafe type of ambience. The coffee and tea was great, although I was unimpressed with the service. Upon letting our waitress know we were just going to have drinks, she responded quite rudely by saying that they were expecting quite a busy day. That comment ruined the entire experience for me, as i felt rushed to finish our drinks and leave. This was disappointing as it seemed like quite a funky cafe. read more

Saucers cafe is in a strange position where the food is not very well cooked - yet tastes great. Usually it's the opposite, with technical prowess being attained first, but having trouble coming up with good flavors. A lot of the food is noticeably undercooked or overcooked, but the strength of the flavors carry the dishes. As it stands, Saucers is probably 3-star, but with even a slight upgrade to its technical offering, this could be a 4 or 5-star place to eat. This rating is based more on its potential than its actual current state (but I believe that could easily change). read more

Great neighbourhood restaurant, always a go-to when in the area. The place is always busy at lunch. My friends and I have come here several times and all the dishes we've tried have always been good. Our favourites are the Thai salad/wrap, the bruschetta, soups, and the sandwiches. read more

This place is great for a nice lunch. I find their menu a little limited because it is quite small, but their desserts are to die for. Everytime I have been there service and food were good. You know what, they have a super delicious thai chicken noodle salad here, and this amazing homemade iced tea. But...the service is rude and snobby. They seem to have enough regulars that new clients are of no interest. They are always packed at lunch and when I walk in i am lucky to get eye contact never mind a friendly greeting from one of the numerous staff members. I went one Friday without a reservation and when deciding if we would wait we were curtly told to hurry up and make up our minds. I vowed never to return but had a colleague who wanted to go last week, so learning my lesson, i made a reservation. I was pretty irritated that although i got a table it was crammed at the back snap dab in staring line of a open ugly broom closet in disaray. People coming in off the street got nice tables up at front. Yes, the salad is good, but I'm just going to practice making it at home and stay away from this cliquey place. read more
