    Which Came First Calzone

Just came back into town, had to stop at one of our favorites. Sauce on the Side! We split a small Italian salad and a Calzone! Plenty of food for the two of us. And tasty too!

Ordered online through their website. It was an easy and quick process. They had the food prepared in the quoted 15 minutes. Fairly large space with lots of tables. Wasn't busy at 6 on a Thursday. Ordered: - Fatty B (4/5): Tasty calzone with pepperoni and meatballs. A bit much ricotta for my personal preference - I may adjust next time. - Bullseye (4.25/5): Excellent flavor combos. Preferred red sauce over the French onion sauce, although the French sauce was very complementary. It just seamed a bit heavy.

Great Calzones and Salads! Nice place to grab a meal to take home or eat in. Decent beer choices as well.

What a great place. I called to place our order and the person who answered the phone was friendly and attentive. They got our order right. When I picked it up, they were efficient. The calzones were yummy. I had the Five-O, and I really liked it. The dough was fully cooked and fresh! The Caesar Salad was awesome. We will be ordering here again!

We came here for their outside patio with friends last week. Their menu only includes calzones and salads. Would've loved to have a soup to go with the calzone! The calzones are HUGE and big enough for 1 and a half adults. We over-ordered and took the leftovers home. We tried the Carmen, Costanzo, and Don Corlazone (a seasonal menu item). There's about 3 outdoor long tables with plenty of chairs out on their patio which is nice for COVID-era social distancing. The Carmen had prosciutto, spinach, parm, fontina, ricotta, with garlic butter sauce on the side. The Costanza was my favorite; the eggplant added an interesting flavor and texture. Costanza also has roasted garlic, mozzarella, basil, ricotta, brushed with garlic honey oil on top. The honey oil was a little too sweet for me. I liked the red marinara sauce that came with the Costanza, but the sauces that accompanied the other 2 calzones didn't add much and I didn't end up using them.

OK.. Confession. I have been back there 3 times since I have started this review (saving drafts) so I obviously must like this place. I do. The calzones have all been good and tasty - been able to make 2 meals out of them. And they have a good selection of beer both can and draft. My other half even found a wine she likes. I have had the Meat Me in St Louis (needed the pepperoines scattered a it more); Which Came First (sans Jalapenos); and a Costanza. Each time the calzones were better. I think the cooks are getting the timing and ingredient temps down now that they have been open a few weeks. The staff is always friendly, the tables are bussed quickly, and there is never really a long wait from ordering to getting the food. I am more than sure I will be back again as there are still more Calzones for me to try. I am very glad they are in my neighborhood!

Pancho villa with queso on side, plenty to share

This is fast becoming our go-to takeout, with rising prices elsewhere (looking at you 5 guys). We got the fatty B and cockadoodle noodle. The buffalo butter sauce was delicious with a perfect balance of tang vs richness. We also tried the chipotle ranch, was also on point. The cockadoodle noodle is a nice idea but to me, lacked flavor, that's not a problem though with the fatty B or the Pancho villa (which we got last time). TL:DR - High quality and easy , inexpensive takeout for a busy family

So yummy! Tried the buffalo bites and they were perfect. Many options to build the best calzone ever!

I really think the calzones are a good value for as huge as they are! Half of one is plenty for a meal for me, so it's like buy one get one!

It was very loud when we visited, not because of the karaoke, so it was a bit difficult to speak with the bartenders. I guess people were having a good time! There are lots of drink choices at reasonable prices. There is also food, which I didn't try. For the karaoke, you go up to the KJ get into the queue, and then add your songs across the evening for each of your turns. There was quite a variety being sung. You sing in front of the fireplace. There is a little bit of room to dance around the edges but not much. Despite being a "nonsmoking" bar, there were patrons vaping indoors and there was a cigarette smell inside (perhaps wafting in from the smokers outside?). The ladies bathroom was very clean. There is free parking outside in their attached lot, but you might have to get creative if you get there later in the night, as the lot gets crowded. This bar has a fun vibe for your friend group to go blow off some steam, but probably not a good place to take a first date.

My husband and I ate here on a Friday night. The atmosphere was not great - it felt like it should be a nicer interior especially for the prices. The tables seemed like plastic card tables with tablecloth on them and the lighting was really dim, with fluorescent lighting. We were sat in a corner that was crammed too close by another table and unfortunately I was bumped into more than a few times - it was hard to get in and out of too. My husband ordered the burger and fries and I ordered a steak. We both ordered our dishes medium but they came well done. They took my steak back and made another, but it took a long time. By the time it returned, his dish was cold. They also didn't ask if his burger was cooked right so he just ate it. My sides were green beans (good) and baked potato (just okay) and it came with a caesar salad (too much dressing). Service left some to be desired. There are lots of food runners and water fillers, it seems, but we didn't see our server a lot nor was my water ever refilled. We had to ask for bread and had to wait awhile for it, as well. The prices especially for steaks are high. I got a 6oz sirloin I believe for $39. With my husbands burger, two waters (no drinks), tax and tip it was a $70 meal. Nothing offered for our delays, incorrectly cooked entrees, etc. Bummer that a nearby, locally owned spot didn't work as we love to support local when we can. If they could elevate some of the above mentioned components to match their prices and provide more consistent quality of dishes, that would vastly help!
