My new favorite coffee breakfast spot in the bywater! Fantastic food at good prices always makes me happy. And the aesthetic is so cool. You'll love the cute courtyard in the back, and cool art work and murals inside. I had the 3 egg kale omelette, and the peanut butter cookie crumble pancake with caramel drizzle. Word in the street is you can get a slice of Dong Phuong king cake here for Mardi gras. The lunch sandwiches here look pretty awesome as well, I'll be back often!

Green breakfast sandwich on sourdough

We enjoyed a nice casual brunch here. You order and pay at the counter and thet bring you your food and drinks and you bus your own dishes when done. The green sandwich was tasty and comes on your choice of a bagel, croissant or toast. The lemon lavender pancakes were so delicious and they were veey generous with the lemon curd. We did not even need the pancake syrup since the curd was so tasty in itself. The cinammon brown sugar latte was pretty but not sweet enough for me. They do have a section with milk and sugar etc. if you need to doctor your drinks. Others in our group got the breakfast plate, thr breakfast burrito, and the cuban sandwich. All were satisfied with the food and portion sizes.

Cute and casual spot for a quick bite before starting my vacation day. Service was quick and the food tasted great. Not too heavy and the ambiance was quite relaxing.

Food was decent, but these cookies were very good! A great place to stop if wanting to eat outside the "city" area!

Great food and coffee, especially like the pancakes with real maple syrup! Soothing music, local art beautifies the space. Staff is always welcoming and brings your food to the table.

Mexican Breakfast Plate

It had been a while since I last went to Satsuma, and I'm glad I did. This was my first time visiting the Dauphine St. location (I went to the Maple St. one a handful of times) and enjoyed the location. I ordered an iced dirty chai and the Mexican breakfast plate. For the most part, I enjoyed the breakfast. However, the tortillas were cold and stiff and there was hardly any salsa. If you are going to prominently list salsa as one of the ingredients, I would expect more than a teaspoon of it. Overall, I'd be happy going back and trying other things from the menu. I saw a few people eating pancakes that looked very very tasty.

Soggy spinach with half yes HALF an egg and a bite of avocado. That's how it arrived for $13.68

This was a total bummer. I came to New Orleans for the food. We were staying nearby and most eateries were closed as it was a weekday so we came here a few times. Breakfast was fine so we can by for lunch. I got the worst salad I've ever had. If you want to spend $13.68 for a bunch of soggy spinach and not even two bites of avocado you've come to the right place. The people working inside could have been kinder too. I went to use the bathroom and they demanded you stand in a certain spot. Don't mind doing that just could have asked kindly. I'd skip this spot.

Green eggs minus the ham on a toasted everything bagel.

Cute cafe in the bywater - friendly staff - adorable cafe cat that will come in. However, i feel everything is a bit overpriced for what it is. I believe i paid about 7.50 for a green eggs and ham on a bagel. to be fair, it was good (minus the ham), but it was lacking pesto in the egg. i wish there were more cheese too. overall it was an overpriced mediocre egg n cheese sandwhich at best. Theres plenty of juices to choose from, but they too are a bit overpriced.

My husband and I both have Celiac Disease (gluten free) and we're vegetarians. We visited here on our trip to New Orleans for brunch. This is a small and charming cafe-style joint with a nice patio. It's not a dedicated kitchen but the staff happily prepared us an egg sandwich on housemade GF bread as well as an eggs & black beans breakfast with housemade tortillas. They cleaned off surfaces to prepare our meals. My husband and I are both very sensitive and felt fine after this meal. Amazing coffee here, too.

It's pretty expensive for what you're getting. The atmosphere is nice, but I wouldn't go back.

Paid way too much for the most simple BLT I've ever eaten in my life. Plus, staff was annoying.

The service was amazing from the start. Now let's talk about the food. I wasn't even planning to order anything, but it smelled too good to ignore. I went with something simple--a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit--but there was nothing simple about it. It came out hot and fresh, and the biscuit practically melted in my mouth. I was honestly surprised by how fresh everything tasted. The shop itself is really cute, with funky music playing in the background and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I'm already determined to become a regular here--I want them to know me by name! I can't wait to come back and try more of their treats.

I ordered the macchiato, but they said that's a small drink, they changed it to a latte for me, I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg sausage and cheese. To add sausage, avocado, or bacon add $2. They also have pastries, sandwiches specials and bagels for fans they offer LIX and a bagel as well. A good selection for a nice little breakfast snack to start your day. Fast and friendly service. It felt so I prefer that to chain coffee spots. There were some good audience somewhere on the walls and good people watching. I wish they much success.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, both about books and the coffee. Every single coffee drink I've tried is absolutely outstanding. My favorite so far is If Beale Street Could Talk, a cayenne-infused mocha. It is spicy, smoky and delicious. The bookstore is lovely, too. They have plenty of events, and there are always at least a few crowds hanging around. Their selection is lovely and I always find a few new books to read. Beautiful outdoor patio, plus they have a small recording studio for podcasts (I think) and a bunch of tables, games, puzzles, etc. I love this spot! I think about their drinks all the time

When we visited, it was crowded, but there was an event going on outside. Additionally, groups were there to meet and have coffee and chat. They have a coffee bar that appears to be well appointed. The book selection is wonderful. So many James Baldwin titles, including some you don't see regularly. They do online orders, so if you are looking for Baldwin books or books on Black history/social justice, consider buying from this Black owned business instead of Amazon. They also have a beautiful air bnb for rent. As mentioned in other reviews, this is in the Marigny/Bywater neighborhood and can be made part of a full day of activities, including JamNola and Allways Lounge and great restaurants.
