I was driving home from the Bay Area and took the back roads, there was traffic everywhere! I was so hungry so I checked Yelp for a good sushi nearby, found this place with high rating which happened to be on my way home. So I decided to pull over, order yellowtail sashimi to go and take a break. Friendly staff, yes... but when I got home with full of anticipation, the sashimi did not hit the spot. The miso soup was ah-okay, seaweed salad was alright, but the yellowtail was not fresh. I ate only half of my meal and couldn't finish it... meh. A disappointment. read more

Was excited there was finally a place in Tracy that has Poki and had high expectations. Unfortunately those were not met. I thought the Poki was horrible! Very fishy tasting and had a seared taste like it wasn't totally raw. The sushi was just ok but if you really want fresh Poki drive to Dublin near Dicks sporting goods. read more

Gave this place another chance and was surprise to see the improvements. We moved to a Tracy in 2012 and were really disappointed with the place then. Glad to too see them remodeled from the run down joint it was. They started serving poke bowls. You are given a checklist to circle your items. Service and food was excellent. No alcohol. The poke bowls are good. I will try this place again. read more

A family member is celebrating a birthday and asked for takeout sushi. We chose Satomi for its high Yelp ratings. I was very pleasantly surprised with the friendly service of the woman who took my phone order and was willing to spend a few minutes with me to recommend some menu items. I had asked which items were most popular and she said it was hard to say because, "everything is good." She was right! I ordered 4 different types sushi rolls: California, Tempura, Tom & Jerry and Lion King. All were great! Everyone in the family was very pleased. Nothing was pre-packaged and sitting in a cooler - everything was individually handmade to order, with very fresh ingredients. When discussing quantities, I asked the woman if we can keep the leftovers and refrigerate them for tomorrow. She said, "no, eat them today." That says a lot for the high freshness standards and quality of this restaurant. This place nails it on excellent service, excellent food and spot on pricing. Should you spend your hard-earned money there? Yes! Try it out. Great job, Satomi! read more

Excellent food ! Lovely service - highly recommend! We had lunch poke bowls were delicious. The fried calamari was the best I've ever had

This place is really good I've been going here for years. I live within walking distance so I go fairly often and it's good every time. The people are very friendly. The location is awesome. I'm hungry right now so I might walk over there even though I got food in the oven. Them spring rolls! I'm telling you! read more

We took my dad here for his birthday. The food was great and the service was even better. We will definitely come here again the next time we are in town. read more

This is our favorite light, lunch spot. We come here 2-3 times a week for Poke Bowls. I've never had one before so I can't compare to another. But I am HOOKED. They are always fresh. Made to order. Filling but not too filling to where you wanna roll over. It's a quiet little spot. Never crowded. But people always come and pick up to go order. The girls at the register are always very sweet and nice. Offering water awhile we wait for our to go order. They have a tv that is always playing a movie. It's very quiet and calm. Tables are clean. Floor is clean. Air conditioned and a fan running which is nice on hot days. I would reccommend this place! read more

I order from satomi often to pick up on my way home from work. The food is always good and my order is always ready on time.

POKE BOWLLLLLL :P Their poke bowls are soooo fresh and have so many topping choices. Also, they put a lot of meat on their poke bowls and they are decently priced, I think with my additions I chose it's usually about an $12 bowl, the bowls start at $10 I'm pretty sure. The young lady who is the only server I've seen there is so nice and even turned on Lilo and Stitch for my toddler while we were eating so we could enjoy our dinner. I'm so happy Tracy has quality poke bowls! read more

I was surprised to have found a place that served poke in Tracy. I thought I'd give this place a shot based off of the reviews. Upon entering I was greeted by dated furniture and dirty booths and mismatched tables. The place seemed a bit run down and the way the dining area was arranged was very odd. When dining in you had the option of ordering Japanese cuisine from the table or ordering at the counter for poke. There was no "have it your way" kind of set up when ordering poke either. All the food was prepared behind a wall. When I got my poke, I was saddened by the fact that the fish was not skinned properly. I still had some on my salmon and the salmon had a frozen-esque taste to it. Overall the poke was OK, but it was nothing amazing. Despite all this, I thought customer service was superb so no stars deducted there. All in all I do not think I will be returning. read more

Only place I know with Poki Bowls in town. So ya, best Poki bowl in Tracy so far. LOL!! Everyone who works here is SUPER nice. I love this place. Recently redecorated looks nice. read more

The fried rice and sushi is sooooo gooooood!! I also tried their teriyaki chicken and it was so flavorful

The lack of people in the restaurant should have triggered my warning lights. With no one around, we were seated quickly but experienced extreme lack of attention throughout the remainder of the evening. There were 3 employees , 2 waitresses and 1 chef. The waitresses were streaming Gilmore Girls on Netflix on the TV. It took forever to take our order, once we did the waitress kept asking for the menu back even after we mentioned we would be order more rolls. The food took quite a long time to arrive. The tempura was overly breaded, cooked appropriately though. The bento box was decent, good portions but sub par cuts of meat (beef and chicken). Udon soup was lackluster in flavor and quantity. The rolls proceeded to take 45 minutes to come out, 1 at a time. By the 30 minute mark we asked them to disregard the last roll we were waiting on, they informed us the chef had just made it "so sorry", then took 15 minutes to bring it to us. Rolls were decent enough. Would not go back. read more

Excellent food and service! Looks kid friendly too. We tried the new poke bowl which was great.

Great poke. Fresh fish, great toppings and wonderful staff. So glad we found a Poke spot in Tracy. Think my family found a new place to love!! read more

The food here offers great value. It is a way better deal than many other Japanese restaurants. Staffs are very friendly. I love the fact that they always have comedy shows playing on their TV. I understand they are a relatively new business and it takes time to build up their customer base. But closing at 8 pm seems kinda early for a restaurant. read more

If you are a big eater, this place is the move bucko! Just had one of their poke bowls and that thing was m a s s i v e. The quality of the fish was great too. I will be back here read more

Food's great! I love the ramen! We enjoyed the food and the place is clean. Poke bowl is also good!

Gave this place a try one day after school with my friends. the interior was cute and they had this one large painting in there with horses and bamboo on the windows which gave off an Asian interior thing going on. The staff was welcoming and kind, they were helpful with me ordering and answered questions that I had. they even did a customised roll for me because I didn't like certain things. I order the firecracker and the chicken teriyaki. Those were very tasty, I recommend it. I will definitely be back soon, they always have funny on the tv, like cartoons or stand up comedians. All in all I enjoyed my experience, I will come back next time with my parents! read more

This place is a gem. Was a little quite when I walked in but I'm so happy I tried it. I was wondering what the seaweed salad tasted like because it's a topping on the poke bowl and they gave me a sample to try before I ordered. It was so yummy I could just eat that. I ordered the tuna poke bowl, ramen and teriyaki chicken to share with my fam and all were delicious. Friendly staff very clean. Will be back soon read more

I was THRILLED to find a place that makes Poke bowls here in Tracy! I was a little skeptical at first, because frankly the place that was at this location before scared me a bit. But I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was here at Satomi. Extremely quick service, friendly staff, and comfortable environment. I got the Saba Sashimi and Ahi poke bowl with all the fixings. The fish was the freshest I've had in Tracy, and the rest of the ingredients were very fresh as well. They were out of Saba, so they let me switch it to Hamachi (which is more expensive) free of charge. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a good sushi/ poke joint. Would give more stars if possible! read more

So happy that there is a place in town to get poke! The teriyaki is also good and I love their udon! Food quality is great. Service is fast & friendly. read more

Friendly mom n pop joint. Inexpensive, good quality sushi. Husband and I filled up on gyoza, tuna poke, salmon nigiri, tuna nigiri, & the firecracker roll all for $24. Atmosphere is a little odd, so not the place for a fancy date, but perfect for our quick stop before our movie date. read more

Definitely a great place to get some good sushi here in Tracy. The Owner, and his staff are extremely friendly, and attentive to you, and the Menu is very refreshingly different form other sushi places I have been to. They also have plenty of options for Vegan/ Vegetation customers, sot hat is always a plus. I'll admit when I walked int he first time,t he lack of apparent business almost put me off, but I soon realized that this is only because a lot of their clientele are getting to go orders, which is a shame, because the in house dining is very nice. This has quickly become my go to for sushi in my area. Love this place. read more

The staff is always friendly and service is great! I've ate here dozens of times and can't say anything even slightly negative about them. Great people and great food! read more

I've wanted to try this spot for so long. I was by myself this evening and thought I'd give it a try. I had planned to have sushi, but the poke bowl caught my eye. I'm so glad it did. Hopefully, once word spreads....I know I'll be going back soon. Can't wait to take my husband! read more

Satomi was delicious! Last night my friends and I were craving gyoza and udon and Satomi hit the spot. We were able to pick-up our meal in no time. Last month on a Tuesday, we came here for dinner because of the reviews. When we went inside, there was a couple of customers dining in. We approached the counter to order or meals. My friend chose a poke bowl while I opted for the seafood ramen. We sat down on a table and was served a small saucer of salad as we waited for our food. When I got my ramen, I tasted the broth first and was surprised that it had curry in it. I like curry but I wasn't expecting it in my seafood ramen. The menu didn't mention it nor was I informed when I ordered it. I didn't think that it was bad, but I can't say it was good either. And my friend found the poke okay. So based on our food and experience, I'll rate this average. read more

The food was amazing. I would recommend the poke bowl. Best price for the best bowl. The options for the bowl are large. From yellow tail to tuna and a large variety of veggies. The yellow tail by itself is also a great price and tsste for the buds. Highly recommend this place to any poke bowl lover. Customer service was great as well! read more
