I've been taking my CR-V to Sato for years and I can't recommend them more highly. They are really skilled at diagnosing problems and keeping me informed of my options and the costs. They really do work to save me money vs. take my money. I've had a lot of work done here from basic oil changes and inspections to brakes, suspension, etc. I've never had a problem. Overall a great place to take your car for good, reasonable service. read more

It's hard to find trustworthy and fair repair shops. They tick all the boxes here. While they specialize in Japanese vehicles I'd certainly feel comfortable bringing any vehicle here. They are a small shop so if you don't call ahead it can take some time, but they use good quality parts, priced reasonably, and ultimately do good and thorough work. What's great is they explain exactly what they've found, why they're doing the things they propose and conduct themselves in such a way that they provide the right assurances you're not being taken advantage of. Being such a small spot, the only thing you'll want to consider is dropping your car off for any lengthier work as there's only a few seats outside where you can wait. read more

Small and a little cluttered, but I loved the vibe of this place, and the work was done well and at a good, competitive price. I know a few things about cars and I was very confident they were being straight with me. Also the guy showed me the replaced parts and even offered them to me (which I declined) but I appreciated the directness and honestly. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I was told on drop off "two hours" and it ended up being quite a bit longer. Not a huge deal, stuff happens, but would've appreciated a little more accurate time estimate up front. read more

amazing stuff and service . this place only ableto repair japanese cars in NY. thanks always honest advised for my car and fix it.

Mr. Sato and under his supervision, his staff, is an expert in fixing Japanese vehicles.

Never responded to requests for appointment. Their appointment schedule on their website doesn't work.

Sato is what your vehicle needs. Took a little longer than elsewhere but they did everything right and were extremely thorough. USed the perfect most value combo of OEM and aftermarket parts and worth every penny for my 2011 Honda CRV with 186K miles. Family run biz where the father takes your car for a diagnostic ride and checks everything then the son works up an estimate and organizes the parts. So happy I got it my repairs done correctly here and I consider all previous garages money wasted. You should do the same. read more

Absolutely phenomenal! I have been getting my Mercedes serviced at the Mercedes dealership like a moron because they charge quadruple the price. I stupidly thought that it was better to get the mandatory services that a Mercedes needs at certain levels of mileage. Mercedes insisted that it was much better to do it there, so for the first three I had them do it without question this time for my a service at 60,000 miles I decided to price it out and realize I was being ripped off on another level. SATO was the first place I called based on the reviews that read and they lived up to the hype and then some. I had to reschedule my first appointment because I'm an emergency, Mr. Sato said "no problem at all" and I rescheduled for a few days later it was done in much shorter time than I thought and they were courteous, professional, and I will definitely be going to them for a long, long time. Highly recommend! read more

El servicio de este lugar en verdad es muy horrible, la forma como tratan a los clientes es irrespetuosa y creen que el cliente está obligado a comprar las ruedas con ellos, si no es así el trato es realmente desastroso. Nunca volveré a ese lugar. read more

I recently brought my Lexus GX and Honda CRV for inspections and repairs and I had a great experience. My CRV was shaking like crazy at highway speeds and I was convinced I had to get me cv axle replaced and maybe my suspension. The staff here took a look and told me I should try getting an alignment and tire balance. Turned out to be exactly what the car needed for just a little over $100! They could have taken me for a ride but I appreciate their honesty and professionalism. I love my cars so I'm very happy I found a great mechanic, especially one who specializes in Japanese cars read more

Sato Auto Repair - Auto Repair Near Me - Elmsford, New York

Great service. Fast and reliable. I was definitely happy with the work after researching a few locations and happy to find this repair shop.

They were very timely and responsive. I didn't have to make an appointment and was in and out within 20-30 minutes despite their being busy with other customers. They helped us get a long nail out of our tire and repaired the tire for us. read more

Using them for close to twenty years , all staffs are hard working and very honest and never overcharge you ... Once I had a SAAB 9 SE and at SAAB they quoted me for $5000 in maintenance/repair , so brought the estimate paper to Sato Auto , and they checked throughly (actually 3 guys) and said most was wrong and no need to change any parts, but the one needs to be changed/replaced was done ....was $800 in all ... read more

I can't believe I hadn't written a review of Sato yet. They are the most trustworthy mechanics I have ever known. I had a 12 yr old 180K mile subaru that was literally crumbling in spots. They helped diagnose a coolant leak in a very timely and helpful manner. You may not be able to wait in a convenient spot (it's really just a garage with an awning where a lot of people hang around) but you make an appointment, they are reasonably fast, they talk you through everything they do (WITH costs) and are profoundly upfront about everything. "We don't have part today, we'll get it tomorrow" and BOOM you are set. I would def come here, they seem to service everything from the high end Lexus to the older Hondas, Toyotas, Subarus. read more

Absolutely fantastic - these guys are so kind, honest, quick and fairly priced. Picked up my vehicle from them after an extremely quick turnaround, and was impressed by their professionalism and communication - willing to explain every bit of the repair and what to expect. Will definitely be bringing my vehicle back here! They deserve every star of their 5 star rating :) read more

Had a issue with my 2012 BMW x5 with a engine light. really nice guys they fix my husbands Honda without issues, price is always fair compared to what I shop around, seem very honest to me.

Listen, this place is thee TRUTH. This was my second time just stopping by for service. This time I stopped by for my engine light on. #1 all the service men showed up promptly at 9AM and shot me a "good morning" as acknowledgement when they walked past as I waited. #2 once they got a little settled inside, someone immediately came out to me and asked what I needed. I simply appreciated being acknowledged. No sense of rudeness was displayed AT ALL. #3 the gentleman that physically looked at my car simply coded it, lifted the hood and immediately started trying to figure out the issue. I came prepared to pay just for them hooking up their diagnostic coder....didn't even charge me for that. AND didn't even charge me for his quick 20min inspection of the problem. My engine light went off, he told me to test drive it. I came back just to ensure they didn't want any money, but I was very willing to pay just for them being so friggin helpful and attentive. I couldn't believe they sent me on my way. Free of charge. Please people, this is the place to get your car tended to!!!! I'm not going anywhere else from here on out. read more

Our car broke down on the highway it was brutally hot out and 4 o'clock in the afternoon. No mechanics would take our calls Or agree to help us and we still had a 4 Hour Dr. to get back to our kids. Sato auto answered our call, fit us in, went above and beyond, stayed late, was very reasonably priced, and even called us after when we were charged a bit extra to refund us the money on our card. This is a family business run by honest people I could not recommend them highly enough. We were lucky to have found them. read more

Very, Very, happy that I discovered this garage. I had no idea where to go when I had what I thought was an failed alternator with my diesel Mercedes. My "go to" Mechanic is in Newark NJ and I would travel to him for my repairs because of his honesty, his ability to fix the problems and his very fair pricing. However, because a fully charged battery would die en route with a failed alternator, it would have required to be towed which would have cost me quite a few hundred dollars. I came across SATO on Yelp and decided I would give them a try after reading the reviews. As it turned out, it was good fortune that I brought it to SATO because it was not a job that could be completed in one day. It was not alternator problem, it was an electrical short. When he told me that, I immediately thought I would need to bring it to a dealership and anticipated paying substantially to get it fixed. Shigeo, the manager, told me that he had just fixed an electrical short on a different car and he seemed confident so I decided to give him a shot. Not only did he discover the short and fixed it, he also discovered where water was leaking into my car that caused the short. Not sure how he located it but apparently a nut came loose off the roof rack which was allowing water to seep in to the vehicle. Since the vehicle was already there I also asked him to do a thorough inspection to determine if any preventive maintenance was recommended. He did identify that he has historically seen failure in a couple of specific hoses and the serpentine belt was showing minor wear so I gave him the go-ahead after he provided me the estimated cost. To summarize, I have now found a new "go to" mechanic. read more
